Currently, the canons of Myridia include the chorus of representatives and some military positions. The chorus is the governing body of the area and makes the majority of decisions that affect the land. They are a diverse group of individuals which represent different factions of the Myridian people. The military faction is directly controlled by the council and chorus and thus do not have a direct representative in the government. The details of each character are divided up into their factions for easy viewing below. As the story progresses, a number of new characters will be made available to fit the ever-moving plot.

A Note on the System: Plot characters are presented in a [First Name] [Last Name] [Age] - [Sex] fashion, with some additional points of information if necessary (such as rank or allegiance) and is followed by a short blurb about the character. Any information already written is unchangeable, however you are free to create all other information that is not pre-set.

If you wish to reserve a character, please reply to this thread or speak with any of the staff or PM The Council account with your name and the character you want.

Note: If you plan to take on a representative, you will have to detail how they got the position in your character application. You can be as creative as you want (but please read and consider the different factions and how they give out their chorus positions). Also, please note that we are allowing a Maximum of 2 Plot Characters per player.

Old Nobility Plot Characters

The Old Nobility are the most set-in-stone faction. They trace their faction status from historical fact, though there are plenty of lies, mud-slinging, and back handed deals that flutter the ranks of the system. The Old Nobility are those who can trace their lineages back to the old kings of Myridia and the noble entourages of the time. Those with the closest ties to the last king, Khedel the Enlightened, have the most power amongst the faction. However, proof of blood ties is hard to come by: people often lie, documents are forged, and deals are made with other families to gain power. There have been no direct descendants of King Khedel that have come forth as of yet; though many have made the claim, all have been found to be false.

NOTE: Due to an influx of Old Nobility families, we are restricting new ones from being created. This is basically being done to keep the size of this faction in check. We can't have a hundred Old Nobility families running around all willy-nilly. So if you are considering an Old Nobility member, PM an established Old Nobility character's account and discuss the possibility of siblings and cousins.

Chorus Representatives

1. Sandrilene D’Atelier
Daughter (and only child) of Aaron D’Atelier, the council member for the Old Nobility, she is very proud of her heritage and family. She faces a number of trials and enemies for not only being so young, but for being a woman amongst the Old Nobility chorus. Has a dirty little secret.

2. [???] [???] - [Age] - Male/Female
Feel free to make your own New Nobility Character.

3. Cal'Athir Larouge
He is a idealist, and wants to improve the conditions of the Worker’s Union, as well as proving his worth and his family’s worth in the eyes of the other Old Nobility families. The Larouge family must return to their position as an influential family once more. This is Cal’s legacy.

Others

Old Nobility characters can be made from any of the following families:

-D’Atelier (direct descendants of the brother of Khedel the Enlightened)
  • Aaron D'Atelier (Councilor) - Assassinated
  • Tamara D'Atelier (Sandrilene's mother)
  • Sandrilene D’Atelier (Chorus Representative) - Only Daughter
-Torens (descendants of the second cousin of King Khedel, once claimed to be descendents of the direct cousin of the king)-Larouge (an unbroken family lineage that dates back to those who were considered Khedel’s closet supporters)-Cavalesque (descendants of the illegitimate bastard son of King Khedel’s brother and a common whore, begrudgingly considered Old Nobility)-Orlens (a powerful and ancient family tracing decent from an ennobled war hero)-Penopalts (A lesser Old Nobility family with waning fortunes. The last scion of the house, Rufal, has recently returned from a 10 year campaign abroad)Note: if you wish to make your own family, you MUST create a lineage linking to the old kings. You may be as creative as you want (within reason). If you wish to join an existing family, please PM one of the established family members. So if you want to be a D'Atelier, please PM Sandrilene's account etc etc.

Note: As Old Nobility characters begin to show up, they will be added to this page. The first player to take on a family also gains the rights to name any unnamed family members as well as flesh out family history and characteristics. Also, these are not the only Old Noblity families out there (its just a guide, really), so don't hesitate to make your own.

New Nobility Plot Characters

The members which encompass the New Nobility are the men and women who trace their descent from commoners who managed to acquire Noble status through the purchase of Titles. They can also be Nobles who were bestowed titles through the King of Old, or simply men and women who have managed to climb the social ladder of Myridia. New Nobility cannot become Old Nobility, so no matter how long its been since the title was bought, the members of these families will always be seen as ‘upstarts’.

Chorus Representatives:

1. Kendon Cahael
An enthusiastic politician with an eye for advancement, Kendon Cahael hails from one of the most prominent New Nobility families. The Cahaels wield a great deal influence, and are considered one of the richest families in Myridia. He may or may not have issues with his superior, Councillor Feriz Athon (who hails from a family which are the Cahaels' traditional rivals)

2. Aryanna Elisas
A sharp-witted, intelligent female. She comes from a relatively newer Noble family who were merchants just over two generations ago.

3. [???] [???] - [Age] - Male/Female
Feel free to make your own New Nobility Character.

Other

Conversely, you may make New Nobles from the following families:

-Vonnet (An influential family, see Eliza's app for more details)
  • Patrick Vonnet
  • Demeter Vonnet
  • Eliza Vonnet
  • Two male siblings (open)
  • Cousin-house Vonnet Members
- Athon (Another powerful family, and traditional rivals of the Cahaels. They currently hold the powerful position of Councilor)- Inarra (A fairly new New Noble family: once a family of cloth merchants that purchased a title from a discredited Lord - see Suriya's app for more details)
  • Suriya Inarra
  • Father, Mother, Younger Male Siblings (of Suriya)
  • Uncles & Their Familes
-Elisas (A newer, less influential family, but slowly growing more prominent)
  • Ro Elisas - Chorus Representative (for the mages, though)
  • Aryana Elisas - Chorus Representative (for New Nobility)
  • Father & Mother
- Cahael (A powerful, influential family, with immense wealth)Note: If you wish to join an existing family that has a played character, please PM one of the established family members. So if you want to be a Vonnet, please PM Eiza's account etc etc.

Note: As New Nobility characters begin to show up, they will be added to this page. The first player to take on a family also gains the rights to name the Patriarch and Matriarch of that family, along with the family’s history. Also, these arent the only New Noblity families out there (its just a guide, really), so don't hesitate to make your own.

Mage Plot Characters

The Mages are often said to be the second-most powerful faction in Myridia, behind the Nobility. This is due not only to their power, but also the fact that some of them are of noble birth as well. It is also the most diverse group, as mages are born into all walks of life, and are cherished for the subsequent honour and wealth that their gift can bring into the family.

Chorus Representatives

1. Ro Elisas
The older sister of Aryana in the New Nobilty. A member of the Mage Assembly who is also a noble. Is often torn between both factions in the choices she has to make. Is also regarded with suspicion by both sides.

2. Azad Shahyar
The Deputy Leader of the Mage Guards.

3. Áine Líadáin
Idealistic and emotional, this young mage has a sharp tongue and yet uses it only when necessary. Her temper only serves to fuel her power if need be, and she feels that she is the voice of all the young mages in the Chorus of Representatives.

Traders and Merchants Plot Characters

The traders and merchants faction have the most obvious internal strife. Although allowed one council member, they are really two individual parties fighting for power. In terms of their professions, which laws are good for one are rarely good for the other. Thus political infighting occurs as much inside the faction as it does with those outside the faction. The men and women that serve as Chorus Representatives are elected by their peers. However this is only after a two-party election which determines which group controls the councillor and two out of the three chorus positions. The current group in power is the Merchants.

Chorus Representatives

1.
[???] Sangre - [25-35]
Brother of Zane and Isabelle Sangre, and one of the emerging forces within the Myridian underworld.

2. Zada Vahida
A powerful name amongst the traders, this woman has made herself known by bringing in the most exotic of items from outside Myridian borders and across Farrah.

3. Kaitus Alexander
A gifted weaver and strong Myridian Patriot.

Note: If you plan to take on a representative, you will have to outline how they got the position in your character application. You can be as creative as you want (within limits, of course).

Merchants and Traders can have any sort of wares available and may have business as big as a street cart to an entire street full of shops. Be aware of the difference of Merchants and Trader as you create your characters and play them: merchants sell their wares for currency, traders barter for other items.

Worker’s Union Plot Characters

The Worker’s Union is the largest and most vocal of the Factions. It consists of all men and women who engage in legal monetary activity without Myridia (minus the Merchants and Traders). Thus, this Faction represents all business owners, all labourers, all service industry workers, and all staff. Usually, the most popular and charismatic men and women are elected to serve as Chrous Representatives, and elections take place every year.

Chorus Representatives:

1. Byron Eldmane
The owner of the Leaky Tankard, he is a popular figure in Myridia. His larger than life personality, and his sharp mind for business has kept him in the representative spot for many years now. (This character will also be given the rights to the Leaky Tankard forum)

2. Niam Thanos
He has a strong dislike of the mage faction and especially the mage assembly owning to the mysterious and unexplained death of the both parents who were in the mage guard. Has a younger sibling who is a mage factioner.

3. Alec Cates
Commander of the city watch. A sharp man with an eye for detail, he is in charge of leading the city's internal defense, and can come across as sarcastic, bitter, and arrogant.

Note: If you plan to take on a representative, you will have to outline how they got the position in your character application. You can be as creative as you want (within limits, of course).

A list of professions and backgrounds which can be a part of the Worker’s Union:

-Shop owners/workers
-Manufacturers
-Artisans/Musicians
-Servants/Serfs
-Tailors/Seamstresses
-Vendors
-Bar/Tavern owners
-Serving wenches
-Many, many more

Miltary Plot Characters

The Myridian military are the armed men and women who defend it and, since magical might is often the first line of defense, are usually utilized as support to the Mage Guard. They also act as a physical safeguard where magic may fail. Although they are not in the Chorus of Representatives, they are still one of the integral pillars of Myridia's defenses. Note that the Mage Guard and the Military are distinct and separate organisations.

1. Brigader-General Zane Sangre
In charge of the entire Myridian Military, he is respected and feared for his sharp tongue and tactical mind. Underneath the tough exterior is actually a genuinely caring, genial man, but he rarely reveals it.

2. Colonel Jericho Steel
Right-hand man of the Brigader-General. An adept administator and good with people. Directs the Captains of the Battalions and the subsequent people under them.

3. Captain Raya Loriani
In charge of the Support Battalion. Archers, Catapults. Works closely with those who support the military. E.g. Healers, the Mage Guard

Conversely, you may make your own military characters. Please note that the amount of power they wield would be concurrent to their ranks. A rough guide is below:

Brigadier-General, General, Colonel
Officers:Captain, Lieutenant
Seargent
Men: Corporal, Private, Recruit
