Flare up in relations between Mages and MilitaryThe prospect for a thawing in relations between the Mage and Military factions was crushed last week when a soldier reportedly attacked a member of the Mage’s student body. Unconfirmed reports claim that Representative Áine Líadáin received a visitor late in the night. While late night activities are off-limits for most Student Mages, exceptions always seem to be made for the young Chorus representative. This visitor, a soldier now identified as Zefir Te’Elohin, is no stranger to Ms. Líadáin. In fact, he was the young mage’s lover, and reports indicate that they’d been dating for months before the incident.
In an unconfirmed report issued by the Mages to the City Watch, Áine Líadáin claims to have been sexually attacked by her lover. The details of this accusation have not surfaced, but the whispers in the Mage’s Sector agree that no actual sexual intercourse took place. This leads most to speculate what intentions Áine Líadáin really harbours.
By researching into the background of Zefir Te’Elohin, the Fiery Scroll has uncovered a flawless record. A decorated soldier with an abiding sense of patriotism, Mr. Te’Elohin has always shone as an exemplary soldier. Official reports describe him as a good man, a great friend, and a person of staunch moral standards.
Áine Líadáin, in comparison, seems to draw not only ire, but suspicion. Her sessions in the Chorus have demonstrated her lack of ability in decision making, and her manner of speech has widely been condemned as loud and obnoxious. It is no wonder that most reasonable citizens have questioned her credentials when it comes to her debilitating attack on one of Myridia’s Heroes.
Because of this out-of-the-blue accusation, Áine Líadáin has sparked a deep rift between the two factions. Unconfirmed reports of anti-mage and pro-military graffiti had surfaced, and rumours swirl that the mages are leading an aggressive underground attack against military targets.
The situation in Myridia has grown tense, and there are calls from the other factions for greater unity.
Asharian activity in the MountainsReports of massive military manoeuvrings have surfaced in the Arkil Mountains. The Empire of Ashar seems to be amassing troops in the thousands, and this number grows daily. Unconfirmed reports indicate the chances of an early fall invasion. The God-Emperor’s personal guards have been summoned to flank the already massive army, and their reputations as Farrah’s greatest warriors have begun to stir uncertainty in Myridia-- especially now that the Mages and Military have clashed over a Representative’s accusation of attempted rape.
