I'm probably a rarity around here, since I'm not a singer or musician of any sort. Instead, I'm a song translator. In other words, I have the most unusual hobby of adapting song lyrics from one language to another (usually from English into Spanish, French, Italian, Latin, and/or most recently, German).

This is more challenging than you might think, since I have to strike a delicate balance between staying faithful to the original meaning and maintaining the rhyme scheme, melody, rhythm/beat, etc so the translation can actually be sung. But it's the challenge that makes it so rewarding!

Ironically, the one thing that's probably even more challenging is finding willing performers to lend their voices to my adaptations. I found this site through a Google search, and I registered in hopes of finding opportunities for collaboration!

Hey, welcome to the forums!

It's pretty interesting you're a song translator, I checked out a few stuff on your channel, it looks good! I can understand how hard translating can be, I also translated a song before (however that was from Korean to English and Dutch to English). I understand German and French a little btw, but it's too bad my pronouncement, especially my French pronouncement sucks, else I would have wanted to help you out by lending my voice. Oh well if you ever do Dutch translations, I'm willing to help out!
