I don't know about you but I find I'm most creative when given a word prompt or phrase, rather than one of those crazy challenges that say you have to use the following six words and so on and so forth. Occasionally over at lj we get challenges like put together people you've never written together before or write something all dialog or no dialog or from a different character's perspective. We also have remainders occasionally when people can write for previous challenges they might have missed or if we've imposed a word limit the word limit is lifted.

So what sounds good to people?

here's the things I'd like to establish

How often should we have a challenge?

How long should the challenge run for?

What sort of word limits shoud we have (Drabbles only, drabbles and one shots?)

I'd like us to take turns issuing the challenge (maybe we could go by member number?)

Let me know soon because our previous challenge from the other board was suppose to be up tomorrow at midnight.

When I was a member at PolarAttraction (Roswell fanfic site), we just had this challenge ...topic, and whoever wanted to see a particular fic written would post their challenge. One person would accept the challenge and write it. I was thinking we could have something like that.

Then again, there were also the official challenges, which popped up probably once a month or something. I can't remember. They'd be open to anyone and everyone who wanted to write something, and they'd have a setting (like a coffee shop) and a list of extremely random words, and people would have to incorporate a certain number of those words into their fic. Then all the members would vote, and the top three (or whatever) would get a banner--like an award.

If you decide to do something like that, I'd be extremely happy to make the banner(s): as I'm sure everyone here knows, I love GIMPing. (GIMP being a sort of knockoff of Photoshop).

But I've somehow gotten off topic. What was I saying? tongue.gif

I think in honor of the finale having Gwen Munch in it we need a challenge

Write a drabble featuring Gwen Munch - can be set at any time, that means could be pre Homicide, Homicide SVU, could tie in to Zebras or not.
