Album Name: Inhuman Rampage Artist/Band: Dragonforce Release Date: Jan 9, 2006, June 20 2006 (North America) Other Notes: Brilliant, well executed, a bit over the top. Your Rating: 8/10 Detailed Review:
Sound The sound is the insane part of the album. 200+ BPM 16th note solos rip through the speakers like fire. The flaw is, however, it sounds generic, even though they are one of the pioneers to "speed power metal" music. All in all, very good, but over exposer can kill. 8/10.
Lyrics This is where the album fails. Every song has the words "Fire", "Warrior" "Mountains" or any other word. Need an example?
(From " Through the Fire and Flames") "So far away we wait for the day"
(From "Operation Ground and Pound') "Far away, will our eyes now see the day"
There. Nothing more then very generic. 5/10.
Skill/Technique This is where Dragon Force truly shines. Li's and Totman's solos are brilliant, well played, and amazing. The entire band's sound is a tight, pure one that focuses the band into a single target. Explosive drumming fits seamlessly into melodic keyboard solos. The pure power that the band has, when played, is truly the force of 1000 warriors booming into the dawn of a new day. 10/10
Overall
Your first reaction will either be:
What the ****ing hell were these guys on? or This is the best music I've ever heard!!
Either way, your mind is completely blown apart. The album kicks off with the well televised "Through the Fire and Flames" and the endless mindblowing doesn't stop for almost 45 minutes, until the last track, "Trail of Broken Hearts" which is the typical generic power metal ballad, completely changes the feel to the album. Nothing short of amazing. 8/10

The lyrics fail., Their Music is Insane. they Sound like Shit Live And it should not get a Ten out of Ten, Their Drums Suck, he just keeps doing the same drum beat. It bothers me how you didn't even mention the Bass, There's a Slap Bass solo in Body Breakdown! InHuman Rampage is probably Their most top notch Album, every song is kicks anus... and you forgot Lost Souls in Endless Time I used to be a huge fan of DragonForce, but after about a year, I I expanded my music to even more bands, and eventually just stopped listening to DragonForce. and "Blood On Your Hands" by Arch Enemy would be even harder to play on Guitar Hero then Through the Fire and Flames.

Inhuman Rampage is their most tired album, because this sounds exactly the same the whole way through, in a way thats identical to their last album, which sounded identical to the their first album.
The lyrics are terrible, the vocals are generic, the drums are terrible, and the guitars are fake and sped up by neato production tricks. The songwriting in general is so lackluster, they pioneer absolutely nothing. They have no skills.
2/5

It's true that most of Dragonforce's songs sound very alike, but that doesn't mean they're bad. This is a decent album. The first song rocks the most, their best album is by far the second one.

Ugh, what the hell has music come to? We're at a point where being completely unoriginal, lazy, and completely identical sounding doesn't make you a bad band.

Too bad they don't play that fast. It's just protools.
Besides, I was referring to their talent creatively. It's just an atypical power metal band played really fast anyway. The structures are pretty standard overall.
