[SUBPLOT IV.]
The Morlocks.

[Morlocks]
The Morlocks were more of a small gathering of outcast mutants than a formal mutant alliance. There was no official leadership until about three years ago, when it gained leadership under the sometimes-brash but protective Berzerker.

Recently however, in the month of November, Berzerker left the underground to pursue a temporary arrangement with the Xavier Institute and its leader, Charles Xavier.

This left the Morlocks in disarray, and it was then that a second leader stepped up to take charge: Callisto, a strong mother figure amongst the Morlocks since her joining nearly two years ago. Due to Berzerker's frequent topside ventures in the last year before his temporary leave to the Xavier Institute, Callisto had never quite been satisfied with his leadership and in what she found to be reckless abandonment of the Morlocks, she did what only seemed necessary and took up leadership. She plans on turning the small group into a community, so more mutants can find sanctuary in the tunnels.

Callisto's new leadership is still quite new, having only started a week or so before the month of December, and there is still some division amongst the Morlocks regarding the new leadership. Many Morlocks however, are certain that they cannot go back topside, and/or do not wish to return topside, and this will be the deciding factor in following Callisto's potentially more stable leadership for many mutants.
Even those that remain distinctly loyal to Berzerker are mostly willing to let Callisto have the leadership position until his return, however, so the real friction may not take place until his full time return...

[SUBPLOT V.]
The Double Agent.

[X-Men]
The Brotherhood has always been a matter of concern for the X-Men, ever since the two groups first knew of the other. The X-Men however have yet to find out where the Brotherhood Compound lies. There's only basic information on the status of the Brotherhood members as well, mostly extending only to the elite members and not the full organization. Without information, nothing can be achieved, not even the most basic of defenses against any possible acts of aggression.
Well, now it was time to change that.
And no one fit the description for the job better than Sage.

[Brotherhood]
Magneto knew of Sage. Perhaps not enough, but he knew of her. It was only a matter of time before a recruitment attempt was made, and this time he sent one of his very best: Neena Thurman, codename Domino.
Now, recruitment went relatively according to plan, but there's just something... suspicious about the newest recruit.
And you can bet the Brotherhood won't let that slide for long. The trainees are tough enough to convince, but the elite members are practically professional skeptics.

Starting thread of Sage/Tessa's recruitment by Domino/Neena Thurman here (December).
Soon after her recruitment and relocation to the Compound, Sage/Tessa encounters Avalanche/Lance Alvers: here (December).

[SUBPLOT VII.]
Generation X: The Rift & The Hellions.

[Generation X]
The Hellions.
The rumors have been floating around the Institute for two weeks now, but now they're no longer simple rumors. The Hellions have claimed a title for themselves, and are unhesitant in stating that they are in fact, the cream of the crop, the elite as defined by them. They consider themselves the most powerful of the Generation X team, and have even started to go off on their own informal training sessions outside the usual Gen. X ones.

The 'team' is led mainly by Julian Keller, codename Hellion, who is unashamed to admit that the group is named after him. He holds the main voice in the group, though he is not the only leader of the outfit.
Hellion shares his 'founding' status with the X-Man Berzerker, who has a rather surly reputation for himself though he's known to be of few words.
By their side is none other than Pyro, St. John Allerdyce. The three best known sources of trouble within the Institute walls under one banner. But they do have some female company that have far nicer reputations.
Prodigy, a.k.a. Cho Yon Han, named quite appropriately, is the inarguably the brains of the outfit, though not of the sly and cunning (and often sarcastic) wits that the males of the group may possess.
With Prodigy is Gaia, the highly powerful alien that seems to have adjusted to life at the Institute, though perhaps not quite fully to the life with the mansion residents, particularly the Hellions.

If with a particular attitude (and arguably a good deal of arrogance considering their claims of being the best and most powerful), the Hellions seem to be generally harmless, more a social clique than any rebellious faction. Still, their determination to devote themselves only to each other makes things rather daunting in the Gen. X training sessions. Not to mention they've begun to create some tension within the student team. After all, no one likes being told that they're not one of the chosen elite.

Some of the Generation X students are beginning to feel that someone needs to put a stop to all this Hellions nonsense. Some want to be a part of the Hellions. Some are undecided. A few are thinking that they need to be the ones to stop all this, because the adults apparently aren't getting involved, at least not so far.
