Well, isn't the Western District charming in the afternoon sun? Crime, poverty, filth and garbage... it was no new sight to the now almost two century old wolf. A place better avoided if you have more cash on you than what you need to buy a drink or some drugs. Nevertheless, it was curiosity that led Farkas there. And his nose. Ever since he arrived in the city, the scent of animals couldn't be ignored. Maybe it was just his imagination... he had seen the whole world, and were-creatures weren't something easily found. Things change with time, though... and time flies damn fast. The building he was looking for certainly wasn't something impressive... definitely not what he got used to back at home. Slowly, he reached out with his hand to open the door, getting more and more skeptical about the whole thing... but one look on the inside was enough to change to impression. Now that's more like it! Maybe not as good as whatever his family had, but still classy.

As Farkas walked inside, his brown eyes quickly fell on the bar. Well, since his job won't be starting till next week... might as well enjoy himself a bit. But man, a cop? Sure it wasn't all that difficult to get, and he desperately needed to start earning money... but how will that work out? At least there won't be any problems with physical aspects of the wort. Unless he puts too much effort into catching someone. That could be somewhat nasty. With a faint smile, the man walked over to the counter. "A glass of scotch" He didn't really care what it'll be, as long as it's not that American... whiskey wannabe, to put it mildly, it'll be alright. After receiving his beverage and getting through the uncomfortable necessity of parting with some of his money, Farkas dropped his backpack (which contained all his belongings) by the table and took a seat. Comfortably sitting back with the glass in his hand, he looked over the local with a sharp gaze. Wondering if someone will come over, and stop a guy from being bored

Veterinarians were working overtime much like the hospitals were. Injured pets and strays were coming in through animal control. The major Veterinarian hospitals were getting overloaded and thus, the small clinics like the one Ambrosia worked at were starting to get the overflow. The riots had brought in many injured. Many weren't able to be saved and along with the physical toll it took on Ambrosia, working overtime and making sure that each animal was comfortable, there was an emotional toll when she had to put down a small, young animal because it was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Each day her heart broke but she took it with a grain of salt. For now, she had been sent home after putting as many hours as she could into the clinic. The woman in charge forcing her to go home, finally telling her that if she showed up today then she was going to be pushed right back out. So, she took to roaming the streets and as usual she was dressed nicely. When the riots had started her parents had made sure to get her and her sister out of the city. Her brother refusing and working at the hospital and taking on clinic hours to take in the injured that came pouring in. But here she was now, helping with the clean up of the aftermath.

Today, she wore a pair of dark blue jeans that are tucked into her black, heeled boots that come only to her mid thigh. A black and grey sweater, black near the top with thin stripes towards the middle where it would be solid gray and then reverse at the bottom, fit snugly over her limber form and went past and over her hips. Over her shoulder she holds a leather purse that is a little large and gathered at the top where it is brought together by a magnet to keep anything from falling out. A silver, circle buckle in the center of the front of it is the only decoration for it. On her head she wears a black fedora with the band a solid grey despite a small silver, square buckle on the left side. Red hair is down and falls in soft waves around her face and as she enters this bar, more by mere instinct than anything, her blue eyes looking around the bar with almost surprise.

Honestly, she didn't expect it to look so nice. Nibbling a little on her lower lip she would take a deep breath and swallow a little at the scent that fills her. Others. Her eyes dart to each person that is there but there are only very few before she gives a nod, almost as if affirming to herself before going to the bar and sitting just a stool away from the other Lycan. Eyes look to the cleaned counter before looking up the barkeep almost as if she is nervous and it just permeates from her. "Do you happen to have a dark merlot?" She's almost hesitant to ask but she is greeted with a nod which causes her to smile a little. Wine was always better suited for her anyway and with her busy and stressful schedule, a little bit of alcohol wouldn't be too bad would it?

He needed a break. Summer had been utterly chaotic and while Bohdan had gotten in on the riots and stuff, it hadn't been easy on his body. Things had seemed to settle down though since the shadowmen came. Not that he trusted a bunch of hiding figures who claimed to be gods. He was smart enough to know there were chemicals, even some naturally produced by the body that could make someone relax, and he'd need more than just a feeling of calm before he'd put his faith in something that skeptical. After all, with all the sorts of supernatural creatures that existed, whose to say these were just a new species, and not gods at all? He'd come to the area dressed in slightly baggy jeans (though by no means were they close to falling off his ass. That was just plain stupid if you were going to have to try and run.) and a tee under one of the college's hoodies. Being a bit on the lanky side of skinny and not much more than five feet and six or seven inches he knew he probably looked like a runt of a college kid. All the better to be underestimated if he was going to get into a fight. He was just slightly flushed and jumpy from his latest drug of choice, and making his way inside he made his way towards the bar, choosing a seat on the other side of Ambrosia.

"Gimme two shots of 151 and a rum and coke." And because he knew just how he looked to others, he pulled out his I.D. (Fake, but very high quality) and set it on the bar beside his money to pay for the drinks. While he waited, he dug through the pockets of his hoody and pulled out a handful of mini-candy bars... the type that were on sale right now in anticipation of Halloween. Only after he'd popped a mini-twix in his mouth did he glance at the others he was sitting near, and with a smile full of boyish charm he finally started to relax. "You two can have some, if you want. I've got plenty." And he nudged the small pile of candy slightly closer so if they wanted they could take their pick. His first stop after selling some of his old stash and getting this new shit he was on had been to a mini mart. After all, he -liked- candy, and it provided a good excuse if any of his drugs made him seem hyper or jumpy. Just a college kid with a candy habit. Candy of all kinds.

While he waited, Farkas wondered just how hard he should try to keep his identity a secret here. There wasn't much point if they could smell who he was just like he could. Besides, why keep such secrets from his own kind? Normal humans were the only ones who had to remain unaware... mortals' situation sure was amusing. The most numerous, the weakest, the only ones unaware. And yet, given a chance, they could easily become something else. Few wanted to, though. Wonder why? Farkas at first had a difficult time accepting the fact that most of his relatives were werewolves. But he quickly learnt to appreciate the gift. After all, if not for it the wolf wouldn't be alive anymore. Like his mother. They used to be close, but the discovery of the truth distanced them. The beast was in his blood, even if he wasn't born one... Farkas simply couldn't forgive her for keeping it all away from him.

Taking a sip of his whiskey, Farkas noticed the girl walk inside. If she was as young as she looked to be (always damn hard to tell), then she was nothing but a whelp compared to him. Nevertheless, an adult by human standards. And since some of them were humans once, what's the difference? "Merlot." He spoke as if to himself, with genuine french accent. How many times had he been to France? Enough to learn by now. "An elegant taste for an elegant lady." He even offered a warm smile. Again, the wolf couldn't help his upbringing. Such pleasantries were so common back in the 19th century. Consumed by memories for the time being, Farkas closed his eyes.

Before he could snap out of it and apologize for his brief lack of attention, another person arrived. This time he had no doubts about age - a lycanthrope looking so young has to be so young. But the boy had no troubles with buying quite a bit of alcohol. Something that should be frowned upon, not to mention the smell of drugs on him. Ha, maybe Farkas should work as a police dog, instead! Either way, it wasn't really his business, since he wasn't working now. At most, he'd admit the cub's resourcefulness. "Ah, nothing like a sweet welcome. Thanks, man." He quickly finished off his drink and grabbed a Snickers. Sweets.... so luxurious. Lately he could only really eat what he caught himself, to save money. Being a homeless traveler wasn't easy. Good thing that he didn't look that way now, he had to spend some cash to take proper care of his appearance if he wanted to get a job. Fresh shave, fresh clothes... his appearance was absolutely appropriate now "So. Think that there's anything a new guy should know?" He asked after dealing with the candy. Wait... wasn't there something he forgot about. "Right, where are my manners... Farkas Griffith, at your service." While looking at Ambrosia he made the so very refined motion of taking off a hat, which he unfortunately didn't have. Then, he offered a hand to Bohdan.

The sounds around her felt muffled but her scent, it was heightened and aware. However, his voice brought her attention and she would straighten her posture. It was an unconscious effort as she looks to the man just as her glass is set in front of her. A pleasant smile coming to her lips as he just gives his little comment. Since the riots, she hadn't met very many polite people. Most were still bitter, afraid, or just plain rude but that's what you get for living in the city. And she's been a city girl for her entire life and more than likely would be for her now prolonged one. Lips part to speak but her attention is caught by the jittery boy who sits at her other side. Her sense of smell overwhelming her to take in the scent of a Lycan and... something else. Something that definitely was not sugar. Lips pull down into an elegant, disappointed frown before she looks to the bartender. Even he had the faint scent of lycanthrope on him. Wouldn't he know that he was underage? But then again, she wouldn't question. It was rude and not her place. Blue eyes would eye the candy for a moment before taking a mini Milky Way from the pile, pulling it away with just her index finger. "Thank you." Her lips pulling into a smile that is more accustomed to her features. Her eyes turning to Farkas as he asks his question. At his gesture and introduction the woman can't help but smile as she takes off her own hat and places it in her lap, brushing a few strands of her red hair behind her ear. "A pleasure Mr. Griffith. I'm Ambrosia Hunington." Now, for those who knew lawyers, her name would seem familiar since her father held a big time name in the career field and her sister was following in her footsteps. Shame, she was the one meant to be a trophy wife.

Ambrosia would have to lower her eyes at one point, feeling a slight discomfort in the presence of her own kind but through practice of etiquette it wouldn't show very much but be seen as a mere distraction of where her hat sat in her lap before taking the wine glass to her lips and taking a small sip. The taste overwhelming her and the alcohol beginning to start the warm sensation that just filled her stomach. Lowering the glass to the table she would take a deep breath before turning her eyes to Farkas. Eye contact was always important when talking to someone, despite being told your entire life you must hate what you are. "Well, if you are new to town then you'll have to forgive the damage to the city. With the riots that broke through many of our buildings were damaged." She lets out a soft sigh before shaking her head. "Hospitals are working overtime with the veterinarian clinics and construction work has been a complete booming field. Not to mention that our police force has been working overtime as well to make sure that things don't get out of hand again." Her eyes turn from him now, unable to keep the eye contact for too long. Her nearly shy nature taking over for those moments as she runs a thumb along the base of her glass. "It isn't hard to fit in around here though. There is a little bit of everything, everywhere you look."

ooc: Sorry for the wait

'nothing like a sweet welcome.' Bohdan grinned at Farkas and reached out to shake the mans hand. Boh had a firm grasp, but it wasn't one of those crush your fingers just to see if you wince type grip. More of a friendly shake that might test Farkas just a little, just enough for them establish that yes, they were both males and could have a pissing contest if they wanted to but being adults, they were above such petty school ground antics. Well, at least in bohs mind he was already an adult. Enough to at least act like one sometimes. "Bohdan Pier... You can call me Dan or Danny but not Bo." Bo was reserved for his dead parents, and he tended to see red when people used that nickname for him. He smiled, and decided on a 3 musketeers bar since his twix had long since vanished into the abyss of his stomach. "Pretty much what she said, Constructions good for steady work since it's going to take a while for everything to get fixed. Personal body guards are more of a temporary thing but some of the property owners that were hardest hit keep a guard or two on the down low. The college came out relatively unscathed, most of the vandalism there was spray paint and a few small fires. When I heard what was going on I released the horses from the barn into their fields so they'd have a better chance of avoiding some of the drunk college brats." Once he was sure the horses were good though, he'd gone to town, semi-rioting and semi-protecting some of the more innocent bystanders. Oh there had been some interesting fights those nights.Ambrosia... The name sounded vaguely familiar. "The college has some interesting classes, even if some of the students are a bit snobby, the docks and poorer parts of town are good for brawls and mayhem, while the rest of the city is pretty much average, and the richer section is posh." The bar tender had taken his money but only placed one shot of bacardi 151 on the table and had used a lot less rum in the rum and coke than normal. Hmm. After a quick glance at him once Boh realized he wasn't getting what he was paying for and a subtle nod towards Farkas from the barkeep caused the boy to sigh and resign himself to a relatively dry night. Farkas was new, so he wasn't going to get what he paid for until the barkeeper relaxed a bit about the new guy. Oh well. After taking the shot he tipped his barstool back so it was resting on two legs instead of four and sipped his rum and coke. "Have you found a place to shack up yet?"

A good, firm shake? What a surprise. The kid sure didn't look that way. No matter how often experience taught him not to judge by appearance, he still did it subconsciously sometimes. Can't help the bad habits, eh? Farkas easily adjusted his own strength to Bohdan's, staying on firm ground but keeping it neutral. Very diplomatic, some were all to eager to take even a mere hint of a challenge, after all. He could remember how difficult it was to control his body's capabilities at first, long ago... but now he could gently hold a lady's hand as easily as break bones of someone who forced him to do so. Experience is truly a convenient thing to have.

Farkas listened patiently, with an indifferent expression, supporting his head with one hand. The alcohol began to warm him up nicely, but his attention was completely focused. Riots... he didn't ask about them, didn't want to know. As long as they stay in the past, they aren't something to worry about. Only once did he grimace with dissatisfaction - at the mention of police force working overtime. No wonder it was rather easy to get a job there. He could tell already that work was something he wasn't going to enjoy too much, but it still was the best option. Pretending to be a stray dog could be rather inconvenient sometimes... and there were better places to try out living as a wolf. Sighing, Farkas looked at his empty glass. Probably would be better if he had left some for now. "Ain't exactly a quiet little haven, eh? Cities these days..." Well, maybe they weren't exactly better in the past, but different. London always had it's dark side, but someone of his birth ignored it completely.

While Farkas noticed Bohdan's little problem with the barkeep, his only reaction was a shrug. Easier for all of them than trying to do something about it. He'll just buy the cub a drink sometime, provided they ever run into each other again. "Nope, not really. Took care of getting a job, but not that yet." He smiled, scratching the back of his head. Wasn't that a weird order to do things in? Anyway, he could stay at some hostel, or even a hotel for the time being. Or, the forest. He wasn't really too picky about accommodation... except he couldn't go around telling people he lives in the forest. So that wasn't really an option, in the end. Farkas brushed his mustache, taking a bit of effort while thinking about the whole thing, for a change. Well, either way, he'll manage. He'd been in worse situations, all over the world. Survival wasn't really too hard, with the right attitude.

OOC: Managed to sneak on tonight XD Wouldn't expect to do it again, though.

The smell of the drink that the bartender had brought the young man was definitely less than alcoholic and that couldn't help but give a good natured smile. She would turn her eyes to the drink and listen to a few more people come in. The scent strong and... dominant. This causing her to want to lower herself in her chair but her own pride as a woman kept her sitting straight and not cowering in fear. No, they were Lycan as well from what she could tell. Now she was wondering what kind of place she had found but her own abilities were still quite foreign to her. Having very little proper training or introduction to them. She would start to fiddle around in her purse until she found a little notebook with a pen attached. Opening the small thing she would write down a few names and numbers before tearing the page out and sliding it over the table to Farkas. "Um... here. This is the number of my landlord just tell him that Ambrosia sent you and he should help you on a deal with an apartment in the building and um..." She would then put the notebook away into her purse before taking out a small card. "And if that doesn't work out my mother works in reality and she can usually find a good deal on a nice place." She would then place the card on top of the piece of paper.

Honestly, she wasn't even sure why she was helping a stranger out but it only felt right. Her eyes glance up to him for a moment before looking behind her to see that the place was filling a little. She takes a deep breath before turning to her drink and taking a sip. All she had to do was remain as calm as she could be. No use getting their attention, not that she didn't scream it anyway with the way she dressed and well, looking as if she had money.
