CY 2273

World War Four scorches the Earth. The ecosystem ravaged; the global economy devastated. Electromagnetic bombardment rendered the world’s data networks obsolete. To rebuild, the remnants of a shattered Earth merged into a single unified society, erecting a city to be a beacon of hope for Humanities uncertain future. A new city. The Megacity

CY 2300s

Humankind grows. Its former glory restored. A season of peace and prosperity is known. New advances in science, technology, medicine and Artificial Intelligence simplified life for all. Humanity had redeemed itself...it seemed

CY 2596

Unknown to all, the bio-nuclear bombardment of World War IV had altered the Human genome. A new and strange species of Humanity emerged: the Axion. Human beings who possessed astounding, sometimes frightening abilities. The radioactive fallout of the last world war altered the course of Human evolution spawning a new race borne from the irradiated genes of common Homosapiens. Initially they were only feared. But time was not long before fear gave way to mistrust. Contempt not far behind

CY 2609

Apprehensive of losing the fragile peace they had attained the War Council created the Axion Suppression and Control Act. Under this law Axions were forced to surrender to routine examinations and DNA registration with the Law District or face swift and severe sentencing. The War Council began close monitoring of Axionkind, hoping to deter any possible future Axion insurgents

CY 2618

Thousands were subjected to inhumane experiments in the name of helping Axions cope with their inhuman abilities. The vamp did not last long. Axions, not wanting to be controlled, rebelled against an establishment that wanted only to control or eliminate them. Violent riots soon began. A frustrated War Council responds to civil unrest by creating the Genetic Manifesto, a formal declaration of Human Genetic Superiority and infallibility and in many other respects, a declaration of war. These 'Gene Laws' lead to the vehement proscription of the very existence of any form of organic sentient life not entirely and verifiably human. The very state of being an Axion was considered treason against Man

TODAY

Humanity’s fate is uncertain. Corrupt corporations spew propaganda to lethargic masses. Axion-related crime is at an all-time high. Within the Megacity a silent war is being fought between Humanity and its wayward offspring

The Hubris of Man begins anew...

The club was, as it typically tended to be, packed. Strobe lights drench the dance floor in an array of lights, a different hue revealing itself with no particular order. The music throbbed, causing the very floor to pulse as if alive; as if it possessed its own heartbeat. It was sheer chaos; it was a good night. And, for the short, stocky, balding telecomm hacker good nights were sure signs of bad things to come. But, currently, his mind was on other things; like thighs. Or, more accurately, the thigh of the young girl seated beside him in his private booth. And, she was not the only pair of thighs on his itinerary. The other three ladies present all seemed to tickle his fancy.

At least they were surely doing the damndest to make it seem so.

”Spaz!” She gave protest as his thick, stubby fingers strolled up her leg. Protest but no resistance. Though he wasn’t the most physically appealing specimen, in the underground he was the premiere hacker and black market dealer. In a sense, he was famous; in an even greater sense, infamous. His illicit lifestyle a closely guarded secret, and while most only had an minute inkling of what he did and how well he did it, the name ‘Spaz’ was a respected and well-sought after name.

For the most part…

A buzzing sensation on his earlobe interrupted his foray into the world of easily acquired and meaningless sex. It was a call he was expecting, in spite of forgetting the real reason he was here; to make a deal. The fat, short man nearly shoves the girl he once flirted with out the booth such was his hurry. ”Move it, girlie! If I’m late, ‘He’ll’ kill me!” As the forsaken girls exchanged puzzled glances, he forced his way through the crowd, heading outside the dive spot. His belly swayed proudly as he hurried down the strip and turned a corner, pressing the flat of his index finger to the connexus device. ”Ok, ok, I’m here… where are you?” There came no response from the device, prompting Spaz to begin sweating; had he fucked up somehow? Done something to anger his most ‘loyal’ client? Hoping for an answer he glanced around anxiously. ”Come on, man, don’t kid around like this! You know I hate it…!”

And, that was the very idea. Keep them on their toes.

Backing up slowly, he never realized his ‘buyer’ was closer than he expected; until he felt someone grab his shoulder from behind. ”AH!” Forcing Spaz to literally squeal like a little girl; he wasn’t the bravest fellow. ”Shut up.” Was the only response he got in return. ”Ah, fuck! Dammit, Zyu! Why do you always have to DO that??” Spaz took a single step backwards as Zyu took one towards him; his face concealed behind a cowl, but not his death-like stare. ”Stay focused; where is it?” Ah, business! The thing Spaz lived for; he reached into his inside pocket and pulled out a small pile of microprocessors. Zyu snatched them from him instantly, inspecting them closely. ”They work?” Spaz almost seemed insulted at the very notion. ”Do they work??? Do you know what you’re holding? Those are the guidance chips for a VX Smart Missile. Back in the day, before the War Council outlawed sentient weapons, those were literal death from above; and those right there? Was its brain, pal. You get yer hands on a VX, and no one in this city is safe from you! Not even those STaRK assholes!” An annoyed gaze fell on Spaz. "You talk too much."

”…W-wha? Hey, wait a minute; yer not thinking of stealing one are ya? That’s crazy! They don’t make any more of those. Haven’t for nearly a decade. The only ones left around have all been commissioned for deactivation and storage. In a STaRK armshouse. How would you-…” Zyu chimed in. ”….You mean ‘you’.” The fat little man turned white. ”Me??! B-b-but…!” Zyu pocketed the processors and leaned into the now sweating hacker. ”Find me an armshouse that has one. I’ll do the rest.” The news that Zyu wasn’t going to send him on a suicide mission was a relief.

But, not completely. He now had a rather daunting challenge.

With no more to say or do with this rotund rodent, Zyu started off. ”Well, wait! How am I supposed to find one??” The caped rogue paused. ”If there’s anything I’ve learned about you, Spaz, aside from being a fat, slimy, greedy, selfish, cowardly, spineless thief and peddler, is that you have a knack for finding ways to do what no one else can. If I didn’t know any better…I’d swear you were an Axion…” Zyu took a moment to look at him over his shoulder.”But, the idea of us even being the same SPECIES makes me wanna take a ten-year shower. I have faith in you, Spaz. You’ll figure something out...”

With that he rounds the corner, leaving the fat slimeball of a man to ponder his circumstances. ”Hey, I resent being called a peddler! I’m an ARTISTE! ….the nerve of that guy…”

From so high up, everything looked so small and tiny. Like millions of ants scurrying about, headed nowhere of any purpose or importance. Though it was not like she would care about them if she were on the ground; out of pure malice, and while her so-called ‘commanding officer’ was busy dispensing orders to the rest of her ‘crew’, she’d allow a thick stream of her saliva to hang from her lips, the tension holding it there snapped by its weight alone. She smiled as the wad vanished as it plummeted to the street far below.

She only hoped it hit someone. She prayed it hit someone.

”…Trinity…” A voice, one that grated on her very soul, roused her from her reverie. She hated him with every fiber of her being. ”…What…” Despite her current dilemma, it was quite obvious she did not care for this man or her teammates. A disdain she often found little reason to hide, and was even less inclined to pretend wasn’t there. ”…the hell do you want?” There was something enjoyable about watching those impotent dots in the world below. It was perhaps one of the few good things about being in the ‘Shepard Corps’; so it didn’t surprise her that something came along to ruin her somewhat-less-than-foul mood.

Something always managed to ruin her mood.

”We’re approaching the Drop Point. Prepare to deploy.” Their tone lacked even a hint of concern; merely a soldier doing their duties without a shred of humanity. The visor of his headpiece reflected her hind parts; she hadn’t even so much as bothered to look at him. By now the drill had been so ingrained in her it had become like second nature; it had been only three years and over two-hundred successful missions. So what if her targets didn’t always survive to be arrested and dragged to the Law Factory?

In her mind, she’d done them a favor; and herself. Retribution was such a sweet nectar.

In anticipation of the drop, she leaned forwards, the wind whipped through her hair; the others were busy being outfitted with antigravity girdles designed to slow their impending descent once they were deployed. She, however, never used them. ”We’ve arrived at the Drop Point. Mercury unit, move out.” The slightest glimmer of a smirk appeared on dull lips; she rose, and unthinkably, leapt from the craft. ”…Brute is away…” In his tone there was no surprise; she typically took the maverick’s route.

Toggling the activator switch, her powers once again restored, she feels her flesh toughening, hardening regaining its nigh-impervious nature. Her smirk graduated to a full blown sneer as she raced bodily towards the ground, the ruckus of below becoming clearer to her now. It was a block war; she loved block wars; so many potential victims, so many fools to thrash within an inch of their lives [or perhaps just beyond]. Of course, if the Axion Counterstrike Division was involved it was quite obvious this little rumble would sport its fair share of them. Or else this would’ve been left up to the basic STaRK rank and file. This was her territory.

She hit the ground with an awesome boom.

In that instant all eyes were on her. As well as guns. The debris cloud created from her impact fades revealing a crouching woman. Trinity lifted her head briefly surveying the insurgents surrounding her. She grinned sadistically. ”…Time to do my civic duty…”

With so many targets, one or two were bound to survive…

Spaz had his work cut out for him. ”…Dammit. How the hell does he expect me to find decommissioned weapons stored in a top secret facility hidden god knows where in this stinkin’ city?? He must think imma magician!” Those stubby little fingers flew across his keypanel; the favors he’d have to call in for this one. And, what about Zyu’s intentions for those missiles? He was gonna assassinate the High Marshal??! Well, it wasn’t like Zyu to ever aim low.

No, rather, he aimed right for your head and didn’t think twice about pulling the trigger.

Garlic-laced breath rushed out of the mouth of a woefully overworked and underappreciated computer hacker. About eighteen hours later, he found his first lead. ”Yes! Aw’right, now! Go, Spaz, go Spaz! ….Wonder how much I should charge him for this info?” The question brought his thoughts back to his and Zyu’s earlier meeting most notably, that irritated glare from before. He winced. ”Maybe I’ll just forego the finder’s fee this time around…” Now he need only alert Zyu to his findings and he’d done his job.

The following day, after divulging the news to his surly sometimes employer, he was given one final task. ”….I need a diversion…” A diversion? The look in Zyu’s eye made a chill run down the short and chubby hacker’s spine. ”…I think I’m gonna hurl…” An hour later, the streets were alive with the sound of gunfire as the rioting was in full swing. The local gangs, all of which hated the guts of the others, were easy to incite with a little incentive; such as a few well-placed E-mails warning the leaders of each tribe of an impending attempt on their lives. Little more than a collection of suspicious and paranoid punkers, setting them against one another was actually too easy; it was too bad they chose a location relatively near to that very armshouse Zyu planned to hit. He’d have to thank Spaz later on for being such a smart person.

”H-hey! I can’t tell these idiots where to go and start shooting at each other!” As much as he wanted to ring his fat neck, Zyu growled under his breath setting his accomplice down and releasing his one-handed grip on his throat. ”Just get out of my sight, you fat fuck.” He ended that comment with a leap off the buildings edge, the antigrav disks in the Nightwing’s ‘cape’ activate via a mental command. The increased inertia carried him to the roof of the building across from him where the ruckus was taking place several on the street stories below. He knew STaRK would be here soon; time was fleeting. He had to act fast.

But, cautiously.

Removing a manifold covering, Zyu began rerouting the security protocols. The process was quite delicate and time consuming; somewhere in the region of fifteen minutes or so. He needed it done in two. His fingers raced, almost becoming a blur of hyper-coordinated movement; his eyes, glued to the circuit panel, glared at it in defiance; in one minute and fifty-three seconds later the maintenance hatch popped open giving him access to the armshouse, but even still the window he had to work with was quite small. Six minutes and twelve seconds before the motion, heat and bio-electric detectors came back online along with the armhouses internal defense systems. If that happened and he was still inside…

He shoved those thoughts deep within aside as the last tendrils of his cape funneled into the hatch. He’d come this far; he’d not back down now.

She wiped a few droplets of blood of her now metallic body. Absorbing the properties of the ground beneath her feet added to her skins natural toughness, much to the dismay of her fallen foes. By now the other members of her ‘team’ had arrived and dispensed their own version of STaRK-brand justice; she hated to share these little therapy sessions with others but that was the name of the game. ”Lockheed…” The voice from before called to her. ”H.Q. wants you to remain in the field; the others are to return to the Citadel.” For once, some good news.

She would have time to herself…for the most part.

Her ‘Shepard’ of course would chaperon her, she knew, but he was a man of few words and that was something, perhaps the only thing, she liked about him. He knew when to shut up. Though, in truth, she wanted to know why. ”Something come up?” Trinity attempted to converse with her ‘Shepard’, hoping to at least gain a glimmer of insight as to what was on the horizon. ”That’s classified. You don’t need to know.” Alas, her inquiry was rejected though it didn’t surprise her; the ‘Shepard Corps’ were little more than cannon fodder to STaRK. A suicide squad intended to take on the jobs deemed to hazardous or too stupid for their human members. She knew this, yet, still tried to ascertain what manner of ‘assignment’ awaited her.

The others filed into an awaiting vessel to cart them, and their quarries, back to STaRK H.Q. and the Law Factory. She [and the buzzard circling overhead] was left behind; he approached her, the dark visor hiding his face reflected her undaunted gaze. ”Well… gonna just stare at me all day?” The soldier ignored her insubordinate tone, going straight to business. ”There’s been an alarm at what is supposed to be a secure location; a STaRK armshouse. Normally, they house decommissioned or confiscated weapons and other armaments deemed either too volatile or a violation of city statute. This particular one is located nearby. We, meaning you, have been sent to investigate. It’s probably nothing; the sensors surrounding the facility have gone off before, usually due to some citizens unwitting trespassing or something, as the building is disguised to blend in with its surroundings. But H.Q. wants confirmation.”

An armshouse? Nice. She was genuinely intrigued; she would get to peek at all of STaRK’s hidden goodies, maybe snatch one for herself. Trinity smirked. ”Sounds fun; where is it?” The soldier points over her shoulder. ”There. Second one from the right.” Turning to look she had to admit it didn’t look any different than the other buildings in this ghetto of a district. It was well hidden. ”Go. See what you can find and report back here. I’ve already entered the access code so you should be able to enter.” With that he merely stood there, a blank ‘stare’ all that he had for her. ”Right. And…if I find it ISN’T some hobo?”

”Terminate with extreme prejudice.”

Her favorite word. A few minutes later the huge twin doors of the storehouse part gradually, bathing the dark insides with light before closing shut not long after. A single figure entered, scanning the interior with their eyes. ”Whoo! Nice… makes a girl wanna go shopping...”

These armhouses had no living personnel members, so that was one thing Zyu had on his side. And with the security systems offline, albeit temporarily, he had the run of the place, in a sense. Still caution was the name of the game; there was no point in being public enemy number one if you were going to be an idiot about it. A grating, jarred loose from its moorings, falls to the ground with a loud metal bang. Zyu’s form slips from the hole soon after, cape fluttering behind him as he dropped to the walkway below.

Landing in a crouch, he rose and looked out on the storehouse, its contents numbered more than even he imagined; seemed STaRK had been collecting these little toys for some time now and had amassed a respectably large assembly. Hopefully, they wouldn’t mind if he borrowed one or two of them; he’d give it back. Oh, he had every intention of giving it back. Through the lenses of his cowl, Xero, the Nightwing’s onboard A.I., scans and displays the location of the piece of hardware Zyu had come for. Thankfully, Spaz had been able to find a blueprint of the facility which Zyu added to Xero’s database, otherwise he would’ve had to search each and every compartment for the VX missiles, a feat which would at least taken days to accomplish.

STaRK had been at this for some time now.

Leaping down off the walkway, the lone Zyu would stroll easily over to the container, the branded “VX” in the side proved to confirm Spaz’s intel. The fatso earned his keep after all. With these weapons, he could truly take the fight to STaRK, and not only them, but all his enemies: Xion Le Fey of Dethtek, Maegis Vaclav of BLOOD Incorporated. One by one, he could rid the Megacity of all his foes, and even shift the balance of power in favor of Axionkind. No longer would he and others like him need to hide from society, hunted just for existing. He ran his fingers against the side of the metallic crate as if he didn’t believe it was before him. "Your days are numbers, you self-righteous tyrants...”

For a moment he pondered why the War Council had voted to disband these weapons, but didn’t for long. They were weak. That’s why they shunned this power. But, he? He was not weak; he would not fear the power. He would wield the power.

Gripping the crate by the side, an upwards push against the lid pops the latches locking it sealed; the bolts sent flying by the released tension. He opened the first of the crates containing a defunct VX Sentry Missile giving him his first peek at the deadly, self-aware projectiles. Though it lie there dormant missing only its guidance chips which, again thanks to Spaz, he had a handful of, he knew of the underlying power they possessed. With just a few of these, he could hold the entire city for ransom; he could topple the administration, cause mass panic in the citizenry, and above all else… avenge himself.

That was when a sudden loud groaning roused him from his delusions of political upheaval and retribution. Zyu spun around, closing the grate as he did and peered out carefully from behind a stack of metal boxes. What he saw before him made his eyes narrow and as well as snarl in frustration. Some…person had entered the storehouse??! When this was over, he was going to choke the life out of Spaz if he ratted on him. He listened carefully to their monologue with themselves, deducing they had come here purposefully. It didn’t take a genius to guess why. As the woman stalked the hall, Zyu dashed from his location, hiding himself from view.

He typically tried not to use the stealth and cling modes as they drained the suits reserves rapidly, but… he had little choice in the matter…

Trinity strolled between the mountains of repossessed or otherwise attained weapons and other pieces of tech. The whole of it, even for her, was astounding to see. It was a weapons cache like she’d never imagined before; a small force could possibly hold this spot [if not push out expanding as they did] for some time given the armaments stored here. It made her wonder what the catch was, that STaRK would choose to hold, rather than use, these weapons.

She’d learned during her three years that STaRK didn’t do anything without carefully considering all outcomes.

Her mind is yanked from those thoughts; she detects a sound. Faint, but her reflexes allowed her to turn in time with the sound, just to catch the barest glimmer of the tail end of something. Something moving fast; and carefully. Trinity treads after it, carefully placing her back against a stack of crates and peeking out from around the corner where that something vanished out of her range of sight.

Though all she found when she did was nothing. Feeling a bit more confidently, she removes herself from the wall and enters the lane following the phantom’s supposed trail. Someone was here, though, she'd bet her life on that...

…That was all he needed. It stood to reason whoever she was she was here for a reason, and that reason was him… or at least that fact that he had snuck in here. She’d be on the lookout for anything that stood out, and therefore he provided her with just that, purposefully allowing her to glimpse him as he dashed from one hiding spot to the next. And, when she followed him, as he anticipated, he sprung the trap.

Above and behind her a few hundred pounds of cargo became disheveled before tipping over and fell dangerously to the ground where she stood, threatening to come crashing down on top of her, burying the woman in at least a half ton of ammunition and deactivated weaponry. The sound of the metal crates falling one after another created a thunderous roar; Zyu looked down from the stack, surveying his work, before leaping off onto the ground and heading back towards the VX Sentry missile lying still in its bed.

He gave her no more attention, his thoughts having returned to his mission. The HUD in his lenses displayed the time remaining until the internal defenses came back online. Four minutes and twenty-three seconds and counting….

She thought she was being careful… ok, well no actually she wasn’t; in fact ever since her powers manifested she hadn’t had much use for ‘careful’, which contributed directly to her choice of lifestyle-that being an entirely reckless one-and subsequent arrest and current situation, but by now that realization was moot; here she was.

There was nothing in the space she checked; which honestly felt a bit suspicious; she hadn’t imagined anything. She was sure of it. So, what then…? Mid-way through that line of reasoning, she’s given cause to turn and look upwards as a loud ruckus is heard stemming from that way. The falling crates coming for her; she almost found it funny. It was a trap; her heightened reflexes gave her time to react but she chose not to, allowing the rain of cargo to collapse on top of her. For a moment afterwards, once the rumbling died down, there was silence. Then another burst of noise as those crates were tossed in all directions as she stood up from under the wreckage, staring her attacker in the hind. ”Like it rough, huh? Ok…” Her skin had attained a shiny metallic hue, having taken on the properties of the very crates that fell on top of her.

Trinity wastes little time; she leapt free of the debris and rushed her attacker, ready to tear them apart with her bare hands. ”You’re not the only one, baby!” When she reached him she would attempt to smash him with metal hands and enhanced strength which, up to now, had never failed her.

She didn’t expect that to change anytime soon.

He’d only just taken a moment to draw up his suit’s HUD to discern how much time he had left for this little jaunt when a great ruckus occurred behind him. The suited man stops and turns, fortunately, in time to witness a dome of those crates he’d once used to eliminate that woman now airborne and expanding outwards in a number of directions, least of all at him.

The schematics drawn up by the suit’s internal CPU present him with an option; one he takes. His knees bend and snap straight, propelling him upwards, pulling free of the ground. Carried upwards by the power the jump, he vaults over an approaching crate, one large enough to hold an adult human being, the bottom of his feet briefly press against the rapidly fleeing metal below him, where a second leap removes him from the path of yet another airborne crate. A simple somersault sufficed.

The metal boxes crashed about the storehouse; his feet hit the floor seconds later, hunched over from the momentum of the fall where he set his eyes on the one responsible for flinging them. It was the ‘woman’ he attempted to crush moments ago. She was, apparently, not. Zyu’s eyes narrowed. Cyborg? Then, she spoke, and her skin changed; turned…into metal? Definitely an Axion… but if she was here, then was she with STaRK?

A ‘Lamb’, perhaps?

Whoever she was, she didn’t wait to make her move, coming for him with only the intention to rend him right here. He could respect that; it was, at least honest. He’d be just as ‘straight-forward’ in return. Zyu allows the woman to get as close as possible, knowing ‘they’ would be even more potent at close range, and it didn’t get much closer than point blank.

Just as she was upon him he’d extend his arms, fists curled, the Kinetic Repellors releasing a bolt of pure kinetic energy, strong enough to dent the side of a Dropship, the beam ought to give him a bit of breathing room for the time being. She might be made of metal, but everyone had to obey the laws of physics. If that was settled, Zyu had some missiles to liberate.

Three minutes, forty-four seconds…

That beam or whatever it was would strike Trinity directly and threw her backwards with such force she slammed into a wall several dozen feet behind her with a loud crash, her form warping the metal easily. Despite being hurled as she had been, she wasn’t hurt nor had she felt any true discomfort from it. When she had taken on the properties of any durable substance, her pain threshold rose considerably; it became very hard to cause her any pain, although it wasn’t impossible.

Having slammed into the wall, there was a still moment when it seemed she was beaten.

However, this was disproven when she rose to her feet, an enormous container supported overhead. ”Well, at least we know you hit girls!” She chided before tossing the huge container towards Zyu with impressive quickness; he’d have to dodge it or somehow prevent it from reaching him, but whatever he decided to do, he’d have to do it quickly; it was one or the other, he wouldn’t have time for both.

She made damn sure of that.

Moreover, the tossed container had hardly reached the halfway point before her rapidly moving feet carried her towards him, the flung container merely a diversionary tactic. She lacked superhuman speed, but could still move quite quickly when she wanted too, now being one of those times. She’d lunge at him, her metallic body would take him down hard where she’d attempt to pin and subdue him beneath her. Steel hands wrapped around her attacker’s throats, she mused. ”Hey… you’re that ‘Zyu’ guy, aren’t ya? Wow… you’re like some kinda legend or something; wonder if they’ll hook me up for takin’ you down? I’ve ALWAYS kinda wanted a piece of ya…”

To her, a fight was a fight; didn’t matter who or why, she just liked to hurt people. With a STaRK-issue Limiter chip in her upper spinal column, the list of people she could exploit was short and getting shorter every day. She’d have to find some way to get her kicks.

This was it.

His mind already returned to the business at hand; if she was here, then a STaRK Strike unit wouldn’t be far behind. He could forget the clock; his timetable just went out the window. He’d have to work quickly and get the hell out of here before the armshouse was crawling with STaRK infantrymen. As much as he loved demolishing STaRK units he hadn’t the time nor the luxury this time around. His only option if he wanted to come away from this successfully was to take his cargo and flee.

But, as it always seemed to be the case, his plans remade themselves.

A metallic rumbling followed by the rousing voice of the woman he thought he dealt with twice already. Turning towards the sound of her voice, he was greeted by the sight of a massive container, one weighing several tons, coming directly for him. Despite the situation, he had no time to be surprised and his Kinetic Repellors wouldn’t be strong enough to nudge the heavy crate aside. He was left with one option; brute force. Zyu wraps his fists together as one and clubs the heavy metal box with a savage blow that caused it to flip over sideways and land with a harsh boom. He’d managed to save himself, yet, this was only subterfuge.

Blindsided, he is overtaken by her, her impressive strength more than he expected and Zyu finds himself on his back before long, her glossy metallic hands wrapped tightly around his throat. The lenses in his cowl alive with sensory data; a real-time display of his physique is drawn up, with several red markers alerting him to the sudden lack of oxygen his body was currently receiving and all the subsequent areas prolonged suffocation will do damage too. Information he was well aware of.

Of course he was aware; she was choking him!

And, had the nerve to be running her mouth at the same time. Zyu could feel his temper building. ”You’ll…have to….get in line…!” Was his retort at her comment; in his bid to wage a one-man war against STaRK and its allies he’d made quite a few enemies, all of which would love to be in her position right this very moment. There was a time when Zyu might have given two shits about being hated throughout the city. But, not today.

He was rather over it.

She was strong, though, he’d give her that. Attempting to pry her fingers loose didn’t seem to work. Which left him with one alternative. She never noticed the small discus he attached to her; not really a weapon per se, it was a device designed for shorting out circuit panels by giving them a short burst of high-voltage current that would fry the entire mainframe and render the device inoperable, or disabled if you were breaking and entering. Against someone with metal skin…the effect would be even greater.

As the current rushes through her, he knows he has maybe another second or two before the discus burns itself out as well from the residual heat, so the moment the electricity forced her to release him he wastes little time striking, his fist sent forwards aimed for her jaw, his inhuman might lends heavily to the attack hoping to show her just why he was the most wanted criminal in the Megacity. Or, at least most feared.

He hit hard.

When he was able, Zyu rose to his feet, a quick sideways glance at the VX Sentry missile still waiting to be collected, before he set that annoyed gaze back on his foe. It seemed if he wanted the weapon, he was going to have to fight for it.

Zyu takes a moment to crack the bones in his neck.

It gave her a sick pleasure to feel her hands around his neck. This guy…she’d heard so much bullshit about him from the STaRK rank and file, from other prisoners, she even attended a small orientation seminar devoted entirely to this one Axion offender and how dangerous and unpredictable he was and what course of action one should take should they have a run-in with him.

Really, it made her wanna puke!

What was so damned special about him? He was just ANOTHER Axion one day destined to spend the rest of his natural life in the Law Factory, or be experimented on and tortured or at the very least end up a ‘Lamb’ in the service of STaRK aiding in the locating and capturing of others like him. Just like her. And, if she got to be the one who dragged his sorry ass back to the Law District, then perhaps there was a smidgen of justice in this world somewhere.

She was enjoying herself so much so, she scarcely took notice of that little disk he attached to her, and even if she had seen it, she couldn’t have stopped him close as they were to each other. The voltage running through her was hell on wheels. Her metallic muscles, bones, and organs were all now wonderful conductors of electric current and even though the jolt lasted hardly two seconds, it was two seconds of sheer agonizing pain. She couldn’t move, her muscles spasms locked her in place. She also screamed from the feeling of being electrocuted.

Only to then be decked in the jaw like a son of a bitch.

Once more her form went aerial, though she flew a much shorter distance this time, the back of her head and neck collided with a nearby container, denting it instantly. She plopped to the floor afterwards, her hind hitting the cold floor hard. The current had worn off and she was regaining her control over her own body and senses. When she looked up, and saw Zyu standing there cracking his neck like she was some greenhorn, her metallic lips curled into a look of frustration and anger, leapt to her feet and charged Zyu swinging at him with her metallic fists. ”I’m gonna make you pay for that!” She bellowed between swings.

”Yer going DOWN!!”

Honestly, there was something amusing in her threats. Either because he’d heard it all before, or because he knew she had no idea just HOW many times he’d heard it before. ‘Lambs’, the poor bastards, tended to be unhappy, bitter motherfuckers that couldn’t wait to impart a fraction of their own inner angst and hatred against anyone they could; it just so happened that list was limited mostly to other Axions yet to be captured.

Still, he didn’t feel like he could blame them much; they had little choice… or so they thought. Zyu would rather go down fighting, or be left to rot in a STaRK Sciencell than be their little errand boy, doing their dirty work for them while they sneer and spit at him. THAT was a fate truly worse than death; what’s more, he’d already endured a lifetime of their torment and experiments. He’d never go back.

Never.

Her body flung from the might of his inhuman muscles, but with her metallic skin and superhuman strength in her own right she would not be down for long. And, in fact, she returned to the charge attacking him with a flurry of brutal punches. Yet, his speed was enough to evade them all, even going as far as to catch her fist at one point in the palm of his hand; a tight squeeze ensured it remained in his grasp. ”I’ve heard it before!” Zyu called out as his free hand collided with her glossy gut, which was followed by a swift but harsh headbutt while she was distracted.

However, he hadn’t come here for another pointless fight. No, his true purpose was to acquire a VX Sentry missile for his one-Axion war against STaRK. And, with that issue pressing against the back of his cowled forehead, he allows himself to be distracted, turning his gaze from the woman [whose hand he still held] to the still lying missile a few dozen feet away.

He had come so close… to leave empty handed now would be disastrous.

He was a fast little fucker. She kept up her attack, swinging again and again, but only grew more and more frustrated as she would miss each and every time. Her opponent, this Zyu bastard, was every bit as quick as they said he was. Fast enough even to snatch her hand mid-way to his face. Applying pressure against her fist ensured she could not simply yank it free and continue with her barrage; the following gut punch/headbutt combination was a nice touch. It was enough to bring her down to one knee. But, Mr. Hardass made a teeny, weeny mistake.

He took his eyes off her…

With a high pain threshold, his punches and even the tight, squeezing grip on her hand didn’t faze her much beyond the concussive recoil of being struck by one with that kind of strength. So, when he took his eyes off of her, even though for a second, she took advantage of that lack of focus. Trinity grabs Zyu’s wrist with her other hand, and with a quick fluid motion, ducks under his arm, dragging the limb along with her so that when she emerged on the other side of him, she now would have Zyu in an armbar, twisting his arm at the shoulder with all her might. Following this came a sharp knee to his midsection, and afterwards would grab him by the face and violently force his entire head and body back to smash powerfully into a metal pillar nearby.

She’d keep her hold on him, intent to keep this one on a short leash.

”When I’m done with you, you won’t know your ass from your face!”

She seemed rather pissed. Actually, she was kinda having fun.
