Pokémon: After Legacy (IC), This is it!

POKéMON: AFTER LEGACY

The sun rises over the small town of Pallet Town. On the roof of Oak Pokémon Lab, a Swellow cries out. A girl with long brown hair is putting on her duffle bag and looking into a mirror.

"Yes!" She cries, "Today I take my first step by getting my first Pokémon!" She gets into a cute pose for the mirror and continues, "I, Magenta, will become the next Pokémon Champion!"

Sweatdropping, she sighs, "Yeah, right..."

Magenta walks out of her bedroom. She opens her brother's bedroom door, but already finds him gone. Then she heads downstairs.

Her mother sees her come down and says, "Yellow has already gone to Prof. Oak's Lab."

Magenta nods and replies, "Yes, I saw."

Walking over, her mother says, "I'm sure you both will become great Pokémon Trainers, just like your father." She looks as if she is fighting back tears, but she continues, "Remember. I'm just a phone call away, if you need me. Use your PokéGear."

"I-I know, Mom. Don't worry." Magenta replies and hugs her mom. "I'll...be going now."

"Yes, I know. Take care, dear." Her mother says meakly and then watches as Magenta walks out the door.

[Victoria]

Inside Professor Green Oak's lab, Yellow had already received his first Pokemon. He had chosen Charmander. Yellow had a thing about fire Pokemon, and he was lucky enough to get the first pick before the runt Magenta.

Magenta arrives and sees that Yellow had already gotten to choose a Pokemon. She snaps her fingers and mumbles to herself. Darn it..

"Hah! Late to the party as always, eh Magenta?" he said as he held out his Pokeball.

"...Shut up, Yellow." she remarked while sticking out her tongue.

Cyan and Black, Green's children who were around the same age as Yellow and Magenta already had their Pokemon as well. Cyan got to have Squirtle while Black had a Squirtle. The only Pokemon left was a rebellious Pikachu.

"..I'm sorry, Magenta. I wish you could have gotten here sooner..." Cyan said in a nervous tone.

Black walked over to Magenta and patted her shoulder. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll do fine."

Green already sensed a part of Deja Vu in the air.

[Chimou]

Prof. Oak tosses the Poké Ball over to Magenta and she catches it. The ball opens and a yellow mouse Pokémon appears. "A...Pikachu? Isn't this the Pokémon that Daddy started out with?"

Nodding, Prof. Oak replies, "Yes, actually. You have taken the first step in following in your father's footsteps."

"With that weak Pokémon?" Yellow smirks and says, "She'll be lucky to catch a Rattata with that thing."

Deciding it is best to just leave and avoid all of this, Magenta makes for the door, but Yellow yells, "Hey! Not so fast! Let's have a battle. I'll proven to everyone right now that you haven't got what it takes, runt!"

Before Magenta can even answer, Yellow throws his Poké Ball. "Go, Charmander!"

Magenta, who didn't even put Pikachu back into her Poké Ball, commands, "Go, Pikachu!"

Pikachu turns away and mutters, "Pi..."

Blinking, Magenta wonders what could be wrong. She kneels down and says, "Hey. I know you just met me, but you rather get your butt kicked?"

Turning back to Magenta, it looks up at her and then looks at the Charmander. Pikachu hops over and narrows her eyes. "That's it, Pikachu!" Magenta cheers.

"How corney," Yellow taunts.

[Victoria]

Cyan takes a gulp as a fight starts right there in the lab. Black just sighs and shrugs, deciding to watch on the sidelines.

Green chuckles softly to himself because he's watching deja vu unfold right in front of him. He thinks Ahh, the good ol' days..

Charmander charged Pikachu and attempted to use Scratch on it. Pikachu dodged the attack and attempted to give scratches of its own.

The battle raged on for several minutes, and Pikachu would have lost, if Magenta hadn't used the Potion she retrieved from her Item Storage. Pikachu released a Thundershock and KO'd Charmander and lighting up the whole lab while she was at it.

[Chimou]

"What? No way! You cheated by using that item!" Yellow huffs as he returns his Charmander to his Poké Ball.

Prof. Oak walks over and says, "Actually, Yellow, a good Trainer brings support along wherever he or she goes. It takes more than brute strength to win battles."

Magenta smiles and says, "Hey! Mom put a Potion in both of our PC's. It's not my fault you forgot to take yours with."

Sighing, Yellow says, "Okay, okay. I admit defeat. I'll make Charmander battle to toughen it up!"

Everyone watches him march out of the lab and off into the world.

"Umm... Dad, aren't you forgetting something?" Black hints.

Prof. Oak looks blankly at her and then Cyan says, "The Pokédex, Dad..."

Prof. Oak looks taken aback and then walks over to a desk and then comes back to Magenta. He holds a small red device in one hand and five Poké Balls in the other.

He hands the device over first. "This is my grandfather's old invention: the Pokédex. It automatically records data on Pokémon you catch!" Then he continues on to the balls. "And, of course, you need these to catch those Pokémon."

Prof. Oak steps back and looks at the three of them. "I'm sure that all three...err...all four of you will become excellent Trainers. Off you go!"

[Victoria]

Black smiles as she pats Magenta's shoulder. "I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to tag along with you and catch Pokemon along side. I think it'll be fun if you travel with friends."

Cyan nodded while shuffling his foot on the ground. "..Yes, I would like to... travel with you too.."

Magenta smiled at the both of them, nodding. "Sure. I'd love the company. Isn't that right, Pikachu?"

Pikachu shrugged.

The three of them set out through the lab doors and into the big world.
