MEU Editors' Workshop, Custom Art Requests!

Alright, so it's no secret that art/images play a large role on MEU. We have custom avatars, signatures, character profiles, etc. However, not everyone knows how to use Photoshop/GIMP, and has to instead rely on copy/paste from image searches or DeviantART profiles. Now, we don't really want the same images being overused, nor do we want artists to get upset by images being used without their permission. So how can we try to solve all these issues?

Why not utilize the talent we have here?

This topic has been tried before, but wasn't very well noticed. So we'll try this again in a more organized manner. Here's the deal, in bullet-point form:

• This is the place to request custom images! -- This means anything from cool avatars to signatures for your organizations to new facial markings for your turian character.
  
• Be imaginative! -- Make your request as complex as you want-- if it's too complex for anyone to handle, we'll just say so. This is as much a charity by the artists donating their time as it is a possible new test for our skills. We can try new things based on ideas we've never had before. Win/win.
  
• Get original artists' permission first. -- There's a lot of fanart used on MEU. However, not all of it is given proper credit. As such, we are going to try and clean this issue up best we can by requiring any fan-made artwork to be cleared as usable before we work on it. Then, once the work is finished, please give credit by linking to the original source (giving the MEU artist credit is unnecessary unless said artist wants it; please be respectful of his or her hard work).
  
• Please be considerate. -- Remember that this is a charity by the MEU artists. We'll be busy at some points; we may take awhile. As long as you understand this and give us time, your request will be finished once it's taken. Promise. Also, while being picky is fine, please keep all criticism constructive; don't belittle people's skills or effort when they're doing a free service for you.
  
• Speaking of which: artists will 'claim' requests. -- One at a time, please. One of the flaws of the last time we tried a thread like this was a lack of organization. So here's how the thread will work:
  

Now, I will be updating the OP with approved artists (along with examples of their work) and finished requests as they come. The plan as of now is to make a separate Imageshack account to host all finished requests, which all approved artists will have access to, and then users will be able to link to that account for their images. If there are any questions about how this will work, please pose those questions here. All I ask is that we don't get too derailed in our discussions.

Annnnd... I think that about does it! Here's to hoping we can all work together to bring up the quality of art on the site. Just read the rules I bothered typing up, 'kay? 'Kay.

Aye, it is a bit awkward, isn't it? Now that the awkward-ness barrier has been broken, I feel free to post my request here. Thanks, Trans!

Anywho, as for my request; This here is the portrait I'd like to use for my next turian character. As you can see in the corner there, the lineartist and BioWare have been credited as necessary, and the artist has already given permission to use this art.

Anywho, what it lacks is color, clearly, and turian scale texture. I did the facial markings myself in MS paint, hence their simplistic- and crappy-ness, so those could use a bit of a touch up to look more realistic too. I'd like the armor to be a metallic gray with a few glowing panels of red along the neckline, if that makes sense. As for the color of the skin, perhaps a darkish brown would be nice.

Perhaps an Omega-like background could be added somewhere along the way, too, but it's not necessary.

So I have another request. A good friend of mine drew this image of the medieval version of Annabelle Never in her medieval incarnation as a sellsword (spear-for-hire). Well, I'd like for her to updated. Initially I had planned for her to just have the armor replaced with something more appropriate for MEU, but now I'm wondering if someone could possibly re-imagine her in an MEU setting. I would die if it were possible.

Either way, I would be overjoyed.

I'll edit/update this post once I get the armor I'd like.

I'm glad you liked the last one. I can definitely do this one, but I'm too tired to try it tonight. It's kinda sorta 2am lol.

Ryoku, I'm not the best straight-up colorer, so I'll see if Asyla wants to take it. If not, I'll take that one too.

Finished yours up. I gave it a background from Darkstar, since Annabelle was from the Citadel, and used a separate Kestrel Armor image for easier positioning. Though the head is a little bit high, the hair fit better that way. And I had to dumb down the texture detail on the armor itself so that the cartoon style of the face didn't look so out of place. I also kept the same style the image provided had, just in case that's how you wanted it.

If you'd like anything changed, feel free to ask.
