Guidelines for the Laboratory There are several of rules to be mentioned, for those thinking about creating a new piece of technology. For convenience and efficiency, those rules are listed below; | QUOTE | | 1) You are permitted to create any invention for different groups, or for personal use. Please note that when creating something for an organization or business owned by someone else, it is best to ask their permission before hand if it may be a contentious piece of technology. Note: Please stay within the realms of science fiction, and Mass Effect, or as close as possible when thinking of names pictures etc. |
| QUOTE | | 2) Logic is important. Your item must make sense and be as balanced as possible, both in itself and in regards to the wider universe. Members are allowed to post critique, but this must be constructive and only done if major faults are spotted. |
| QUOTE | | 3) Staff members reserve the right to ask that you change your technology. You can debate the point, but said debate must be logical and something more than "but I don't want to!". At the end of the day, it is the staff who have the final say on approval. |
| QUOTE | | 4) When creating weaponry, armour or ships, please do not make multiple topics for the different components unless said components are new inventions of their own. In that case you first need the components approving in their own thread before the weapon, armour or ship can make use of them. |
| QUOTE | | 5) You must indicate, in your topic, who the technology is available to. It may be private, for use by a certain group or business, or for use by everyone. |
| QUOTE | | 6) There are several things we view quite harshly; whilst they may be approved, they will require additional work and a superb application. These include powered armour, experimental monsters, super soldier projects and exo-suits. |
| QUOTE | | 7) The creation of any item to go into the laboratory is limited; a member must have 75 posts. However members are free to post inventions they consider unique (i.e. not standard assault rifles, vehicles etc) in the lobby and, if the staff feels this is unique, it may be posted in exemption of the posting limit. |
| QUOTE | | 8) The staff is cracking down on numerous versions of a single weapon. From now on if we cannot see numerous (by our definition) use of a Mark I (or whatever the current mark is) weapon, item etc we will not justify the creation of a Mark II. It will be denied. |
Please adhere to these rules. They are in place to ensure that when technology is created it will need as few edits as possible before approval, making life easier for the staff and the creator.
