The message was sent somewhat discretely, pinged directly to private terminals of the Blue Suns’ officers and other members of note calling for a private conference at Omega Base Zero, one of the group’s main bases of operation. Following almost immediately after Chief Hekarian’s public condemnation of the Eclipse, following “unacceptable demands” made at their recent conference held on Illium, it was very terse and vague, yet straightforward in its instructions.

Report to Omega Base Zero at 1300 hrs SGT within three days. Publically acknowledge this meeting as a conference for future operations if pressed, but do not give any further details.

Chief Hekarian.

With all that taken care of and three days having come and gone, Cascaro now sat within a relatively cosy yet Spartan conference room, at a large circular table that possessed a holographic interface in the hollow within the centre. Located within the bowels of the facility, away from the more civilian-orientated offices above, the walls were bare, metallic and austere. The lighting was stark and uncoloured, not so much dispelling shadows as making them even more apparent or splitting them into several of varying darkness. The office was fairly quiet, save the hum of the lights and the ventilation systems, and of comfortable temperature however, and on the tables numerous glasses and jugs of water had been placed, the latter completely filtered and strained to prevent rogue organic material from contaminating it.

The conference itself was actually going to be smaller than some of the ones in the past, largely because of the losses incurred during the last few months. A lot of it was relatively minor -- border skirmishes, contracts that went pair shaped, rogue vigilantes and general desertion -- yet the worst losses came following the Reaper assault on Omega. Even when the monstrosity wasn’t firing its weapons at the station, shrapnel and debris sent from the battle rained hell on the station and inflicted significant losses on all within it.

Cascaro shuddered despite herself as she sat looking through numerous reports and drumming her talons idly on the table. She remembered that assault, and her action during a Reaper attack on the Citadel. Such incidents were never pleasant. Such raw power was as obscene as it was awe inspiring.

The reports detailed, largely, two individuals she’d expressed most interest in inviting to the conference, largely so she could gauge them personally. First was a salarian lieutenant, one Lt. Jaeto Throlan, a biotic who’d joined a few years ago and already risen swiftly, more so than Cascaro herself. Biotic salarians were rare indeed and he showed promise, as such the Chief of Military Operations wanted to examine his thoughts on the current situation on Omega, and the alliance recently drawn up between the Suns and the other mercenary groups on the station. From what she’d been told, he was a former member of the salarians’ intelligence teams, which should doubly useful. Chances were he’d be able to spot things in Omega’s current politics and opportunities in the alliance that other Suns members would miss.

The second was a very recent addition to the Blue Suns’ ranks, yet one that Cascaro was eager to see in action. While concerns had been raised about her past flippancy at authority, discipline and protocol, the human known as Helena Bielecka nevertheless possessed remarkable skill in covert operations and demolitions, the former of which the Blue Suns tended to lack in. Her presence today was more to allow Cascaro the chance to evaluate her personally, and see how she might perform as a member of the Blue Suns. Should her rebellious and violent nature suggest a future of problems for the chain of command within the organisation, the best thing to do would probably be showing her the door and suggesting another group, like the Blood Pack, and let them worry about her.

If she was capable of following orders and maintaining self-discipline however…there may be a future for her indeed. The Blue Suns was always happy to reward soldiers who could get the job done.

The turian leaned back in her seat, placing the reports to one side and linking her talons together, glancing at a clock on her private terminal, which had been set up by her seat. It wouldn’t be long until the others started to arrive, probably another five or ten minutes unless one of them should be more eager than the others to arrive. Flicking a mandible, Cascaro did one last check on her briefing and waited, eager to get the future of the Suns rolling.

If all went well, this would be the makings of a whole new dawn for them all.

Lieutenant Throlan stalked down the passages of Omega, flanked by a pair of turian bodyguards in Blue Suns regalia. This was not his first time on the station, but at the same time he could tick off his total visits on his fingers - he was more of a field agent. His critical gaze swept over the structure and people of the station, noticing things the average citizen didn't care much about.

Layout obviously reflects past as a mining colony. Clearly not built to be defensible. Passages built as new lodes were discovered, complete lack of pre-planning. A mess. No wonder the Reaper attack was such a disaster. His lip curled at a gang of vorcha who were staring at him with interest. Heavily armed salarians, as far as he could tell, were not exactly common on Omega. Curiosity? Maybe hunger? Their faces were so ugly it was difficult to tell.

He squared his shoulders and gripped his unfolded shotgun, staring down the riffraff as he passed them. He had an escort, but he wanted to make sure everyone knew he didn't need it.

"Omega Base Zero" was a vast improvement over the public walkways - Throlan assumed that they'd done a lot of remodeling to get the layout up to snuff. It was quieter, more professional. No idiots to distract him with their pointless shouting and squabbling.

"Can take it from here," Throlan dismissed his guards curtly. The nod he gave them as he turned to open the door was the sole indication that he appreciated their assistance... unnecessary though it was.

The bare conference room held only one other - a female turian.

Cascaro Hekarian. Turian. Female. Fairly new to the Suns... and highly controversial.

Throlan couldn't say he was terribly impressed, himself. There was no long history, no crowds of loyal supporters. What he'd been able to dig up on his new boss mostly concerned her various disciplinary issues while in the Hierarchy military. This actually worked in her favor for him, though - the salarian understood what idiots rigidly clinging to their protocols were like. Enough to drive anyone out of an organization. And she'd certainly put out a strong response in the wake of Eclipse's reported demands...

No doubt that's what he was here to discuss. Between his STG training and combat interest, Throlan was confident he had quite the range of useful skills. He only hoped he would find Hekarian at least partially agreeable to work with.

The salarian took up a position behind a suitable chair, and threw a smart salute. "Lieutenant El'Kesh Throlan, ma'am," he said, choosing to limit his introduction to his clan and given names. The turian probably had his full name on file, anyway.

[OOC: As it turns out Dust’s character is already committed elsewhere, so she won’t be with us here, so we’ll ignore the part of the OP that contains references to her. However we will be having the addition of Sini’s new character with her, which should make up for the loss.]

IC: Cascaro glanced upwards as she heard the doors slide open, letting inside the salarian whose report she had just recently been looking over. She acknowledged his salute with a slight nod of the head, remaining seated for the time being. So, the salarian was the first to arrive then. Good. Cascaro appreciated eagerness, it made soldiers more engaged with the tasks they were set. Hopefully he would show a similar enthusiasm to his other tasks.

Lieutenant,” she said. “Good of you to come at such short notice. Please take a seat; the other officers should be here shortly.

With that she sat down herself, giving her presentation one last look over before forcing herself to leave it alone. Unless she somehow got hacked, which the Blue Suns technicians guaranteed wouldn’t happen without her knowing of it, the files wouldn’t change of their own accord. Before too long had passed several other offices started filing in, some on their own like Throlan while others arrived in groups of two or three, chatting amicably to themselves. Any salutes sent her way were met, likewise, with a nod, although Cascaro noted they were rather few and of those many seemed half-hearted.

Ah yes. There was still that problem to deal with. Caius had been very well respected as Chief of Operations, but that respect obviously didn’t guarantee that his designated successors would be well received as well. To be frank, she still wasn’t entirely sure why she got the job herself -- she and Caius had hardly known each other -- yet she’d been set this task, and by the spirit of the Blue Suns she’d see to it that she gave the organisation her every effort. Jealously from those who thought themselves better suited would be the very last things to stop her from doing so.

Once everyone had settled into their seats and enough time had passed for them to get settled, Cascaro stood and dimmed the lights, activating the holographic display in the centre of the conference table. It flickered into being with an orange light, showing a display of the Omega station, with the territories of the major factions picked out in their main colours. Blue for the Suns, red for the Blood Pack, grey for the Syndicate and so on.

Glancing up and surveying the room at large, the turian nodded her head and began.

Good day ladies and gentlemen.

Omega - Tier 3: Azure - Blue Suns ‘Base Zero’
The life of Arcturus Radeck

It wasn’t as crowded on the streets of Omega, more specifically the Azure Tier, as he had expected it to be. But then again, the asteroid only just survived a Reaper assault. The armoured male didn’t doubt the streets and tiers of Omega would teem with alien and human life alike within a month. A lot of credits were involved and there was no lack of opportunists or adventurers looking to replace the ones who perished. He counted himself lucky not to have been present at the time of the attack, seeing the amount of damage a single unit had caused. Arcturus was no coward, but a Reaper was something one couldn’t fight. Instead he had been busy freezing his ***** off on a godforsaken Ice Planet, ironically named Sanctum.

He had arrived only a few days past from the assignment on Sanctum, getting the Blue Suns mining interests back on track there. The other members of his team which hadn’t been assigned to new operations and didn’t have to report to anyone higher up the food-chain were on shore leave on Omega. Arcturus himself though, had to attend to a conference with the new Chief of Operations.

Only ranking as a Lieutenant he quickly did the math and concluded things were pretty bad if other Lt.’s would be present. If no other Lieutenants would be there, things were bad for him as he was most likely in trouble. But he had done nothing piss anyone off, not to his recollection anyways.
For the occasion he wore his Blue Suns armour. Nice and blue, he said to himself. When actually on a mission he would refrain as much as possible of wearing it because it made you stick out like a sore thumb on the battlefield. His M-76 Revenant was left in his personal locker, he wouldn’t be needing it at all so he just strapped a pistol to his side and made for the conference room.

He was among the last group of officers who entered and gave a curt nod to the female Turian sitting on the far side of the holo-table. A few quick glances round the room told him it was the first of his suspicions, counting at least two more Lieutenants. Things were not going good for the Suns.

Radeck was surprised to find a Salarian among the ranks. That was highly unusual. Then again, he had seen stranger things over the years; like that one time when he saw an Elcor and an Asari give a go at... He shook his head and sat himself down, concentrating on the briefing on hand.

The Turian dimmed the lights and erected herself. Then it hit him. He knew almost nothing about her. How did she get the position, what was here track record like? Other questions sprung to Arcturus’ mind as he leaned back and casually let one arm rest on the table. He’d look into her later, when he had time.

At least she got down straight to business. He liked that in a woman.

Even though Jet Sparhawk had Been doing his new side job didn't mean that he did not work for the Blue Suns anymore. Infact he had been quite board with the lack of inactivity with operations going on. So when he recieved the message that he was required to be at this new meeting he was actually happy.

Jet Had been with the Blue suns for a long time now but he had not risen in Rank as fast as the new comers were. He was content with just remaining a commander. He had decided to wear his normal armor but before he left he buffed it up making it look brand spanking new. He opted to also put on all of his weapons as well which was a lot.

He walked through the streets of Omega with a small escort of his Squad that was under his command making way to base. Upon entering the conference room he was greeted with the site of his other fellow officers. Most notably was the new Suns leader which was a young turian. Whom he consider petite by his standards.

He made his way to an open seat and sat down with his squad standing behind him at the doors. "Same to you miss." he said as the turian lady greeted him. Then jet Took off his helmet setting it on the table. Then gave his full attention to the new leader.

"Soooo sorry I'm late" a woman purred in a sultry tone as she entered the room unannounced, well, unannounced to all but the head honcho of the meeting, she very well couldn't have hoped to get inside here so casually without being 'allowed' to enter.

"Had to finish my.. formal resignation from my last employer, no loose ends, I hope I haven't missed anything too important" she cooed, her brows raising in an almost mournful expression as she took in the sights of all those around her.

Not waiting to have it suggested to her, she took a seat amongs the rest of the individuals summoned here and awaited for either a rebuke or briefing, either/or, she equally anticipated both whether it be one after the other or not.

Tucking her hand into her pocket, she produced a lighter and silver case filled with scented smokes. Given present company she highly doubted they'd be the kind of mod-con's to prevent her induldging in something as harmless as smoking a cigarette, at the least it was scented so not as though they'll be coughing and gagging. Taking a single smoke from his home she placed it between her lips and proceeded to light the end of it, the spark of fire seeming to resonate with her eyes more than what the lighter could reasonably produce.
