The offer that the 'Queen' had given him, although good, was one that he simply did not believe she would keep. Even though he had managed to gain a grip on the pistol King had thrown him, the hacker knew at this point the only thing set in stone was what he had, at gunpoint in the hold of a slaving ship there was no real guarantee that a captor would keep a promise. And so, the oppritunity presented as Betsy turned her head was the one that clearly gave both he and the wounded King a chance of survival.
With pure adrenaline making up for his physical lack of energy, the hacker pushed himself from the chair and lunged at the woman standing over him. Impacting with the full force of his attack, Chase readied the firearm in his hand as he and Red Queen fell towards the deck, hoping that he could knock hers away before resorting to a much more lethal blow.

Though it had only been the slightest of glances when she'd looked away at King, she hadn't actually expected him to physically charge at her. He caught her off her guard and managed to tackle her. It threw her firearm out of her grip and it clattered across the floor, far out of reach. She was left at his mercy.
The smart thing for Chase to do would be to knock her out. If he mercifully left her in good health, he was much less likely to be hunted down than if he hurt or killed her.

The distinct noise of a firearm clattering to the ground was all that the young hacker needed to hear, in the back of his mind almost astonished that such a spur of the moment attack had actually been successful; the odds at hand now turned in the favor of the one who had been captured. The woman that had been only seconds away from having relentlessly tourtured him now his mercy, and his alone as Chase pulled himself into a position over the body of the slaver and readying his own weapon. However, even with every fiber of his being calling for retribution, he was not the merciless bandit that he wanted to end. Delievering a blow to the womans temple, bloodlust still dictated more than a simple knockout punch. No doubt Betsy would awaken with more than simple bruises as crimson blood now showed itself.
Quickly pulling himself to his feet, Chase couldn't help but curse under his breath as he looked down at the unconcious woman.
"I should do the same to you, but I think I'll wait till after were not on a slave ship." Chase called to King, a bit sarcastic as he moved to help the wounded man.

Writhing in pain, King fell to the floor, clutching his side where the bullet went into him. Not a fatal wound, but certainly a crippling one, and will put him out of comission until he could get it fixed. Pain seared through his body and his veins, and his vision turned to a shade of dull red before blacking out for a moment.
In a few short seconds, though time was lost to King, blood flow returned to his head, and his vision was slowly focused back into a clear image. Slowly, he lifted himself up, turning his head slowly to the right, and saw Chase above Queen, delivering a punch to her temple. He smiled, despite the pain. Funny how often that was happening today.
Then, Chase was above him, offering him a hand. "I should do the same to you, but I think I'll wait till after were not on a slave ship."
He slowly reached up, and took the young hackers hand, and lifted himself up. "Good, then my suspicions were correct," he said. "You are ex-Alliance Navy." He stepped over to the prone form of the Red Queen, looking down on her. "Looks like you shot the wrong one, didn't you?" He took a half-step to her gun, placed his foot under the barrel, then kicked it up to his hand empty hand. He flicked his knife closed and placed it back on his belt.
He turned back to Chase and nodded his head towards the door. "Let's be off, then. Before the blood loss gets to me. They'll have medical supplies on a ship, and I'm not willing to waste time looking for a med station on this ship."
With that, he turned and ran. Or at least, quickly limped.

Keeping his gun raised to the two downed slavers as he backed out of the room, Chase making sure that the current situation stayed the way it was. Working the doors mechanism with his freehand, the hacker was quickly able to override the control panel and use one of the ships own security protocols to lock down the cell, leaving both the Scott and Red Queen with an extra hurdle if they were given the chance to get into the fight. Of course they would probably be able to quickly disable the lock, but every second counted when you were running for your life.
Making sure to clear the hallway with a quick sweep of both directions, Chase took off to follow the freelancer, knowing that the wounded man couldn't have gotten to far ahead in the few seconds it took him to get the lights. Pistol ready, the hacker began to move up the hallway, checking his corners as he passed by open bulkhead doors.
