Hi Angel,
Welcome to the group. BPPV is a pain isn't it. I have turned over in bed so many times and ended up dreaming I was spinning only to wake and find that I was. Have you had the Epley Manoeuvre ? Many people get good relief from this but it does need repeating from time to time. Barbara x |

Thanks for your reply, you name it i have had it. Have had BPPV for many years been in hospital many times, due to collaspse. Last visit June 2012, still got styptoms. Had this episode since March 2012 I feel unbalanced 24/7 nausea - muzzy head & ears, hearing loss. I am doing Brandf- Daroff exercises. |

Hi Angel
Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear that you are plagued with BPPV. I have definitely had something akin to BPPV leading up to a bad cluster episode of attacks earlier this year. Dizzy on looking up every time and turning in bed. The Epley manoevre was deemed unsuitable for me though and I resorted to more gentamicin treatment in the end which has been the solution in my case. Do the Brandf- Daroff exercises help you at all? best wishes Kath |

Hi Kath, so pleased you don't, i am still doing the BD exercises, need to do 52 sets in total. In most people complete relief from symptoms is obtained after 30 sets, i have done 20 sets so far so fingers & toes crossed, i will be one of them. BD has helped. Good sign, some times i look up with out getting virtigo thats a 1st in months, so thats a big bonus, :D . Have you tried these exercises? I had the Epley manoeuver done on 20th June, but did't start BD until 12th July.
I have had EM done in previous years, but this is the first time i have tried BD. Angel |

For anyone unsure of what the Brandf-Daroff exercise is the following video might help. Is this what you do Angel. I have experience of VRT but not BD.

Hi Barbara, yes as i said they have helped, at first BD exercises make you feel even worse, I would suggest watch video several times, to make sure correct position very important. & do BD exericise before bed for the first time, then go onto twice aday, i found they have helped me, got 12 sets to go until finished course, will let you know outcome, wish i had tried these before, have suffered with BPPV for years. have not felt this well in weeks. Avril :D |
