Hi everyone

Just joined this great group and just wanted to say hello to you all.

Ive suffered from Menieres for around 20 years (although didn't realise that was what was wrong with me for quite some time).

Despite many, many visits to doctors and specialists I didn't get a definitive diagnosis until about 3 years ago! Although I knew what was wrong with me well before this, I was continually fobbed off with the diagnosis of ear infection of labrynthitis. When a found my wonderful consultant - quite by coincidence, he said I was textbook Menieres. The relief I felt was immense. I was beginning to think that I was just an OTT drama queen.

I guess you could say I've been lucky, the Serc seems to work for me well so far so not as many attacks these days. The tinnitus drives me insane and I just hate being deaf and wearing an hearing aid. Why is it that when you have failing eyesight you go quite happily off to the opticians to pick up your lovely designer glasses feeling really good about yourself but no one ever heard of a designer hearing aid :( . The deafness really gets me down, but hey, look on the bright side, I'm still getting on with my life - it's just a little bit harder. We are only here once though so just have to get on with it.

Looking forward to chatting to all you lovely people, sharing experiences, helping each other out along the way.

Jan x
