Many of my friends seem to be decorating. New coats of paint and a good clean make a good start to Spring Cleaning.
I find this very difficult. Standing on steps or stools. Turning at awkward angles to get into corners and not miss patches, reaching just that little bit too far and risking a tumble.
When I woke up this morning I was not planning to decorate the kitchen. However, I dusted off the cobwebs, stirred the paint and I now have clean, white, very fresh looking walls. I came over very hot at one stage and had to sit down and have drunk gallons of water but I am so chuffed that I managed to do this.
I took a few risks, yes, but tried to make them calculated ones, what was the worst that could happen?
Think I need a rest this afternoon now. Feet up, TV or video and I am sure I have some chocolates somewhere left from Christmas. Think I deserve a treat!!!!

I take my hat off to you Barbara!...there's not many ladies of a certain age who'd tackle that..... let alone someone having to deal with a balance disorder!
You most certainly deserve a well earned rest this afternoon.
Enjoy those chocolates :)

Well done you Barbara. It's very difficult when you are on your own and you know that things need doing and you feel it's beyond your capabilities and it's very easy to sit back and say I can't do that because of my illness.

Enjoy those chocolates while you are admiring your handy work and be proud that you did it all by yourself.

Thanks Sharon and Paula. I always used to do the decorating but it takes a lot to get me motivated these days. I was going to do it a section at a time, one wall today and another tomorrow but once I got started I just went on.
Hate the smell of new paint though.
Might look at papering the hall. Not too high and not too big. 2-3 rolls maybe or am I getting carried away here

Well done Barbara, what an achievement. That's exactly what I should be doing this week but I bet I don't.
Enjoy some chocs! :)

Bloody well done - you're an inspiration to us all. I must admit I rarely tackle decorating these days, but occasionally manage to scramble up some small steps for the odd thing. I always feel I shouldn't be doing it, but sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind.

Im a little bit late here...... but wanted to say very well done for managing to decorate the kitchen Barbara clap We have just started giving both bathrooms a coat of paint - but all I managed was clearing all the surfaces before I was pooped and getting in the way
