I think I've caught up with yesterdays posts....so now i can share some news of my own.
I've got a brand new granddaughter :mexican: My eldest daughter gave birth at 4 oclock this morning to Freya exactly 8lbs in weight. Baby is doing fine I'm told but mum has had a bit of trouble. It was a home birth and all went really well.....very quick and not too painful....until my daughter haemorrhaged and had to be taken into hospital. I got the call to get there as fast as I could so my Son in law could go to the hospital. They live 10 miles away so I got there just as the ambulance was leaving, along with the paramedics and the midwife! Her blood pressure is very low due to the loss of blood and they had to give her an anaesthetic to take the afterbirth as this wasn't coming away. Hopefully she'll be home tomorrow and I'll visit then. I'm really flagging now and have started to feel lightheaded as I've been looking after the other children and had no sleep last night!! I'll be in bed soon I think!! Sharon x |

Hi Sharon
Congrats all round congratulations What drama! heavybreathing heavybreathing heavybreathing Don't like the bit about the haemorraging (can't spell that word) though, must have been scarey for a while. Hope you can get some :inyourdreams: tonight. It's a bit like buses on here today !!! joy kathx |

Thanks for the good wishes.
They left the hospital at tea time today. My daughter had to have a transfusion last night as she'd lost 2 1/2 litres of blood nailbiter Everything seems fine now though. She's on iron tablets for a month and a course of antibiotics (apparently when the placenta has to be physically removed it very often causes infection) I'm going to visit tomorrow so will be able to have a cuddle then :) |
