I haven't fallen for ages but managed to get my toe behind a raised paving slab and went totally sprawling this afternoon. Most embarrassing as there was a bus full of people passing. Think I will have an array of bruises by morning but unfortunately have also got a small break in a bone close to my right elbow and have been told not to lift anything. I have it in a collar and cuff to rest it but have been told I can use it to type as long as my elbow is supported.

So annoying that it is my right arm but I managed to make a ready meal and some coffee when I got home so I am sure I will mange. Not sure how easy it is going to be to get dressed and undressed but at least it is not in plaster so I can shower.

At least I will have an excuse to sit in the sun:)

OH Barabara!!!! that sounds pretty awful. Do take it easy and don't do too much keyboard stuff.
We have both had a day of it haven't we!
I hope there were some people around to scoop you up and look after you?
Presumably you had to go to A&E?
Look after yourself, and especially rest up tomorrow. Hope it isn't too uncomfortable tonight.
all the best

Sorry to hear about your accident Barbara, I also have hurt my left elbow. About 2 months ago a man in a electric wheel chair ran over my foot and I lost my balance and fell backwards on to my elbow. And it was just getting better and yesterday I started spinning and was thrown against the wall in the bathroom and it has all flared up again.
All my grab rails are on my left side so it is really difficult for me to get upstairs.

Sorry to hear that Dizzybee. Awkward isn't it.
I am fortunate that mine is a simple, undisplaced fracture (I think of the radial head) which should mend quickly and easily. Fortunately I have a good range of movement so resting it in a sling should work to heal it.

Hope yours soon settles down.

Sorry to read of your recent trip Barbara. There is just one overiding factor, can you still lift a glass? I hope you can, as I have always found that incapacity is so much more bearable when there is 'Nice Medicine from Scotland' to be had!

All the best

I know what you mean Ted. :wine: and it wasn't the vino that caused the fall
I slept fairly well and the bruising is not where I expected. My elbow doesn't feel too bad this morning and I can use it except to lift but I can manage that left handed.
Coffee and pain killers will see me ok for the day I think and yes a little of the :wine: might make me feel better this evening.

Could have been a lot worse.

Sorry to hear about your fall, Barbara. My falls thus far have been limited, but somehow always seem to fall against something with my head (no sense, no feeling I guess). Hope you recover well and quickly.

Ouch Barbara!!
It always happens when there's an audience too melodramatic

You seem to be taking it very well....I would say on the chin but don't want to tempt fate ;)

Wishing you a speedy recovery
