Rules of Malevolent Harmony
Welcome
Hello! And welcome to Malevolent Harmony! We are a half-realistic, half-fantasy, wild feline RP, and we hope that we can offer you an active, organized RP community. We ask for at least intermediate-advanced RPers, as well as people no younger than 13, as this board is rated PG13+ due to several reasons. All of the rules on this page need to be read, and the information threads on "Mating/Cubs", "Territories/Fighting", and "MASO AVANTI" also need to be looked over. But in order to get the password for the "Character Registration" board, you must find the password within these rules. And please, don't just look for the password and forget about the rules, because we will figure out if you read them or not. Sorry to seem rude, but we admins won't bite unless we're teased.
Characters
When registering for MH, please register as YOUR NAME, or nickname, whatever you prefer. You may have unlimited characters, as long as you can keep them all active, and they are to all be on one account. Its easier than logging in and out every time you post, just make sure there is obvious visual cues whenever you post as each character, for ex: tables, font color changes, character name before post, etc. You get the point.
You may register as any real wild feline specie - so no domestic cats or wolves or dogs or anything...just...wild...cats. Also, no hybrids, whatsoever. Who CARES if you're the only cat of your specie, it makes things more interesting, and it proves that you don't only join to breed. And if there are 50 lions, don't make another boring lion. On each area, there are information boards with various feline breeds, pick a rare one that no one else has yet. Have fun with it, be unique! But as far as uniqueness goes, please no jewelry or magical powers - but other unusual possibilities are explained on the "MASO AVANTI" page. Finally, characters must be at a mature age to join, unless you have admin permission...this means that they must be able to logically survive without their mother.
Posts
To begin with, posts should be at least three paragraphs with 5+ sentences in each, if you constantly post less than that, you will get yelled at >.> But remember, its quality, not quantity...so don't just make it 15 sentences of complete bull...use detail! be creative! let us be able to picture what these animals are actually doing...make sure you give the person you're posting with something to work with when its their turn to post. The pw for the char. reg. board is "color". Also, please make sure you do not have many spelling/grammatical errors in your posts - if you normally have a problem with these things, type up your posts in Microsoft Word and use the spell checker. Posts in character should all be in 3rd person: he/she/him/her/they/etc, not I/me/we/etc. In character posts are allowed to use cuss words, just don't go overboard...and please refrain from using such language in OOC boards...there is no need to talk in that way. And remember that IC and OOC posts are, in fact, totally different things. Just because someone's character hates your character does not mean that the player hates you. The most important aspect of any post is that you should refrain from all powerplaying, it will NOT be tolerated at all. And finally, we require that you try to post at least twice a week, and preferably much more if possible. But, we all have lives, so we understand if you have to be away for an extended time. If a situation like this arises, let us know in the "Departures & Returns" board.
One of the more unique aspects of this site is the transition from world to world, in which different boards will be disabled/enabled. When switching from one world to the other, your character has no recollection of what happened to them in the other world until they are back in that world. Posts from Vivica are completely separate from those in Seifer. When switching back to the worlds, your characters will take up where they left off...so posts will be continuous within worlds but will not be remembered between worlds. Any questions/problems with this, check the "FAQ" or don't hesitate to ask! =D
Ok, another small addition that I've encountered on other boards that I own: your characters CANNOT read minds! Just because it is mentioned in someone's post does not mean that everyone involved knows it. If a character is acting like a nice, decent friend to one person, but is thinking "Oh, I'm gonna get him later..." then your character does NOT know that, so don't act like they do. You only have their actions and words to work with, not their inner thoughts and feelings. If someone shows no sign of fear, then don't make your character notice that they're scared. Is all of this clear? Alright! Now, you're ready to go!
