Luii walked slowly, his limbs stretching wide with every step he took. He tossed his antlers and snorted like a mad animal. He was agitated that he hadn't seen any living or breathing creature in days. He felt isolated and depressed. All the animals he met shied or fled from him or even attempted to eat him! Ha those buffoons, catch me? I don't think so was Liuu's attitude. He smiled softly as he lowered his head to a trickling stream, wetting his parched tongue. He groaned as his antlers scraped the ground. Stupid things he thought. Truth be told he took pride in the 6 feet weapons that could kill anything with the right movement.

He pulled back from the stream, his snout wrinkled and wet - dripping with cool water. His black eyes darted around, nope no live animals. He was alone - still. His 1000+ pounds shifted uneasily as he continued his trek. It was almost summer and he wanted to find more of his kind - or even a herd of deers - who knew? They might befriend him. The cool wind had begun picking up as he reached a narrow valley. He shied away from the open clearing and entered the forests foliage. He grumbled as his large antlers snagged on the trees branches. He let out a loud bleat as his left antler wedged in between a tree and it's gnarled branch. He let out the bleat again - he was trapped.

Patches's ears pricked up at the sound of a low groan that sounded far to her right. She stretched her slender neck and widened her nostrils. The young cow took a delicate sniff and then one more to confirm what she had just read.
Tail flicked curiously. A bull wandered near. And even though it was far from the breeding season, Patches wanted to check this fella' out.
Exciteded and with a bounce in her step she began to trot towards the direction of his scent. The 600 pound moose pranced like a white-tailed doe towards the potential highlight of her day.
The young cow had just left her mother last year and so, felt better that she would meet a companion. A sweet smile spread across her open face. Patches did not like to be left alone. Not one bit.
Oh! she gasped when the bull was in full view. Her baby blue eyes blinked with disbelief at the sight of this bull's wedged antler. Patches's soft, naive eyes then fell to the male's bulk.
She liked what she saw, for he was large! Her haunches flinched as a shiver ran down her spine and heart paused in mid-beat.
Anyways... back to the little problem at hand. The sweet cow was inclined to help. Her mother had always said that an injured moose was a dead moose. And the fella' could potentially injure himself by the looks of it.
Oh, dear her vocals fluttered as she shuffled closer.
S-sir let me help you! Patches said catching a glimpse of his black eyes.
The young cow firmly gripped the gnarled branch with her teeth and pulled it away from the tree. Splinters of wood showered her tongue and the tree complained as he tugged harder and harder.
SNAP!Patches nearly fell backward.

Luii set his eyes on the beautiful female moose. He looked at her body and instantly found it attractive, very attractive. He watched as she pulled the branch that had knotted around his antler and breathed a sigh of relief as the branch released. Liuu wrapped his neck around the female, he hadn't wanted her to fall. Her scent was sharp and sweet, he loved it. He let go when he was sure she wouldn't topple backwards. He let out a deep bellow of appreciation "Thank you, errm - I don't believe I caught your name, I'm Liuu" he said to her. Liuu felt giddy, he had found a friend (or so he hoped) and best of all she was beautiful and by the gleam in her baby blue eyes, he could tell she had a strong and caring heart.

Liuu tossed his head playfully, he was careful not to jab the gal with one of his antler prongs. Liuu was just over two years but he still acted like a calve. He wasn't always kind and joyous like this though. He had a mature side to him, and a protective leadership side. Her was a domineering bull moose that would fight if he had to. But today he was a calve hoping that this female would toss her own head up and play along with him. He let out a whiney and tossed his head up high "what's your name? Wanna play?" he asked, happily.

Patches surely knew she would topple backwards. But, aid quickly came and she found her neck braced against the Bullís neck. After re-gaining her footing she shook her head as if trying to shake off ravenous mosquitoes. It caused her long ears to flop about her in a silly fashion.
Phew, thank you! Patches said and took a respectful distance back. Bull moose were known for their monstrous characters. She had always witnessed them throwing their antlers with pride and even standing up to a pack of wild wolves. Granted, most were gentle with the cows but, their egos were always something to be cautious of. Of course that could change, for Patches was still a young animal in the world.
Upon hearing his name the young cow smiled and eagerly replied, Patches! So good to see another of my kind in these neck of the woods.Remembering the manners her mother had taught her during their long grazings Patches softened her nervous features. Her haunches were not as tightly held and her ears were relaxed. She eyed his features a little more carefully and also making sure he didnít notice. He smelled youngÖ like herself.
Patches reared slightly is response to the maleís sudden toss of the antlers. As she came back to earth her smile showed him how pleased he was of his youthful energy. She flipped her own tiara and raced down towards the direction of the lake that was only a few meters away.
Splash!
Patches was shoulder deep in the water and looking for her new friend.

Luii took only seconds to set off in a gallop, following the beautiful cow. He tossed his rack high in the air before he leapt into the lake. The cool water washed over his hide. He let out a snort of joy and wadded over to Patches. He touched his snout to hers a sign that he accepted her friendship. His eyes sparkled in giddiness. Without warning he slapped the water with his antlers drenching Patches in a cool coat of water. He suddenly stopped and perked his ears, he looked up at the dark black sky - he looked at Patched "Big storm" he groaned. He softly gestured that they should get out of the water.

Liuu could tell that this wouldn't be a pretty storm, well of coarse lightning was pretty, but the after math is not. Mud, puddles, collapsing dens and everything else that they brought. His neck fur bristled as a clap of loud thunder sounded overhead. He shivered slightly as he lowered his head - he watched Patches carefully, he would not leave her alone. His ears perked slightly, "We better f-fined cover" he said lightly to the cow. He helot back the urge to nudge her along with his antlers. He didn't want to seem like a rude bull. A splat of water hit Liuu squarely on the snout, making him sneeze. He smirked at Patches "Dont wanna get wet, do we?" he began trotting up the land into the foliage.

Pathes swung to avoid the splash of water that the bull created. But, it was pointless. The cow just laughed as the cool water of Lake Preston soaked her face and chest. And before she could gather herself from the splash Patches felt the muzzle of her new friend on hers. The young cow pressed her muzzle against his as if creating a pact of friendship.
The sun that basked her dark, wet coat was beginning to sink under the gray clouds that began to roll in. The clouds were pregnant with rain as they swelled above the pair. A breeze swept across their heads, shaking the tall spruces and evergreens. The spring showers had arrived.
CLAP! The clouds were torn by a flashing knife and what sounded like the growl of a bear rumbled milliseconds after.
Or would it be more than just a shower?
Her blue gaze settled over Liuu who bristled at the darkening heavens. Once again her haunches flinched with that unfamiliar shiver that ran itís course along her spine. She was too young to be feeling these things, Patches thought inwardly while blushing under her coat. Its justÖ. Her new companion looked soÖ handsome!
"Right, good idea," Patches voiced as the gentle, yet urging touch of his antlers stirred her back to reality.
As quickly as she could, Patches waded to shore after Liuu.
We donít wanna get wet, do we?
Despite Hell building up above them, Patches couldnít help but grin at his words.
"Liuu, just thought Iíd let you know," she chimed as the rain began to fall harder, "iíll be sticking with you for a while!"
As the pair traveled deeper into the vegetation she continued, "Iím pretty certain that two heads are better than one."
