Rai paced back and forth in anger next to the holographic display, showing the collision from Ren's cockpit visual recorder. The video played back again and again in a replay mode, while Watanabe just clenched her teeth waving her hands wildly in silent, brooding frustration.
"Okay," she started. "This is what's going to happen... I'm going to get the go ahead from the CAG for another training exercise... But before I do... you idiots are going to explain to me why my GINN is down, and I'm having to lead our exercise in a GINN Trainer conveniently brought aboard to teach boneheads like you HOW TO WALK AND NOT KILL YOURSELVES AT THE SAME TIME!"
Rai turned to Jo, knowing she had snapped. Her right hand hesitantly floated above her Bowie knife strapped to her uniform belt. It was then, she heard a snide comment from some Green officer walking in, passing coffee around.
Jerking the knife out of it's sheath, Rai flipped it in her hand, pinching it in her fingers blade-first, and throwing it end over end at the nearest wall. "You coneheads do not IMPRESS ME!"
The knife firmly planted into the wall, Rai took a deep, calming breath, her back turned to the other pilots.

She had piloted and landed moments earlier and entered the briefing room when she noticed how fired up Rai was. Jojo understood Rai's anger cause she too had it. She already knew she wanted to crush some pea sized brains but as it was she would watch as the Green officer would make a comment only to back away when Rai snapped and threw the knife. It planted directly into the far wall and it happened to be directly in arms reach of Jojo.
With a calm look she grabbed the knife and would proceed to keep hold of it so that Rai wouldn't slice a nugget's head open. "Officer Rai. Do you know that these walls carry all the electronics from room of room to the bridge. An act like what you just did may very well get us in more horse shit than these nuggets. I understand your anger but do know some reason not to throw the knife. Especially towards me." With a smile turning into a frown she turned to the nuggets and then said, "Do any of you understand the word Team Work or even Orders? I can file all of you for Insubordination if this exercise was real time. None but the Decoy GINN pilot understood orders. Now where is that GINN pilot, I need a word with 'em." She still held the knife and was twirling it in her hands.

Sam had been standing near the rooms exit she too was pissed. “If where going on a training mission I need a new mobile suit, someone screwed up and delivered mine to the wrong ship.” She had just been recently transferred to the unit herself and was quite surprised when she was informed that her mobile suit had been delivered to another ship, she put her hands in her pockets and waited for the questions to bombard her since she was a relatively new face and hoped she would survive. Sam easily stood out from the others she was rather short or she considered herself to be short standing at 5.2 and her near albino appearance complete with white hair and red eyes but with slight pigmentation in her skin usually made her stand out, her uniform was slightly customized she wore her red tunic was of course standard military issue for female soldiers but she wore red uniform pants usually issued to male soldiers.

Rai nodded numbly at Jo, taking another series of deep, calming breaths. She was reacting far too violently for the situation. Still, her own mobile suit down, another suit down, and no coordination between Coordinators (did that even happen?) did not impress her. These were wet behind the ears Academy students, just like her. However, unlike her or Jo, these two knuckle-draggers couldn't seem to stay on the same flight plan, let alone engage a single bandit.
It was when the albino pilot entered, complaining about her mobile suit missing. "Oh...kay... Officer... What's your name?" Rai paused, a thought forming in her head. "Okay... those of you who are familiar with the Orb Murasame, raise your hands..."
She waited for their response, raising her own hand first to encourage participation. "Now, those of you who are certified to PILOT the Murasame, raise your hand..."

Jojo wondered where Rai was heading with this. Certainly Jojo was probably the best pilot for the traditional murasame and as far as she knew she was the only certified pilot for one in the room. She would look as the hands raised for those familiar with the murasame. "Too few, there are just too few of them." She would think as she saw the few hands raise.
Then came the question of those certified. She rose her arm in a ninety degrees angle. With a calm look and a happy thought of knowing Rai was now getting under control she still kept hold of the knife. She was curious about this new pilot though that came in. The officer had seemed to have her MS misplaced, how sad. In any case Jojo would merely answer the question. "As far as I know I am the only certified pilot of the Murasame in this room. These greenhorns may be familiar but it runs differently than most other suits." Jojo had to let that out seeing as how her hand was the only one raised and there were too few the other time.

“Samantha Collins but call me Sam.” When asked to raise her hand if she was familiar with the orb murasame she did so and when asked if she was certified to pilot one she kept her hand raised. While she was certified to pilot the machine her simulated flight time with one was rather limited, to be honest she didn’t like the machine and would rather pilot a ginn trainer. “I’m certified to pilot but my simulated flight time with one is rather limited.” Sam wasn’t about to say that she didn’t like piloting the machine, or that she would rather use a ginn trainer.

"Rai Watanabe, good to see you aboard," Rai answered, extending her hand. "Why don't you join Jo and I down on the deck after the briefing, and maybe you can help us sort this mess out?"
Running her hand through her hair, Rai considered her options. She would likely have to get clearance from the captain, and Triton about this, but she could pull it off. "Here's the deal... I'll get clearance from the captain to use two spare Murasame's as trainers... Once the rest of you are certified, I'll get certified with Officer Kaguya. For the time being, those with no familiarity or flight time in the Murasame, you will join me in an hour at the hangar deck..."
Rai grinned sadistically from ear to ear. "We're going to arm an unarmed trainer...

Jojo heard that malicious intent inside that voice. Maybe it wasn't malicious intent but it sure did have a ring of its own making Jojo not want to give the knife up any time soon. "Rai, I'll put your knife with the rest of your carry pack that we brought here. I don't think its safe for you to have it while teaching anyways." She inevitably thought of the kids who were being trained and also she would come back with a question, "Would you like me to watch over such an... interesting exercise as to arm that thing?" It was genuine and she was curious in any case.

Sam shook her head. “Would it help if I piloted the ginn trainer.” Sam wondered what she got into this time, she questioned the sanity of Rai and her own. “how are we going to arm the trainer anyway, steal a machine gun and a sword and give it to the trainer while where at let’s get a shield for it.” She thought for a moment, but quickly dismissed the idea. Sam did feel like stirring up trouble though, a little trouble always made things more interesting.

Sighing, Rai nodded. Jo was obviously watching out for her, and Rai knew herself that she was going a little overboard. She would need a break sooner or later, but now was not the time. "Sure, Jo, why not? Sam, if you want to take a stab at it, sure..."
Then the obvious question came to the front of the discussion.
"Honestly, there's not that much difference between a Proto-GINN and a GINN, except the thruster packs, and the slower acceleration. But let's consider... we're down a mobile suit. What does a mobile suit really offer the boat?" She waited, but no one seemed to answer. Sighing, she took the question. A mobile suit is nothing more than a spacecraft with legs and a gun. One less mobile suit means one less Alert 5 Murasame or GINN, since we have to pull that main squadron suit off to fill the reserves for our carrier defense! But... a reserve suit doesn't need to do much except stay close, intercept enemy suits, and give the captain one more ounce of leverage in a firefight."
"We're not talking a high-powered unit to keep up with the Gundams, but just something to give our Aegis and ship-based defenses a little extra firepower. So yeah... Jo, Sam, and I will take the rest of you down to the hangar, and we'll see what we can scavenge from the boat's stores."

Jojo had clearance codes on her at the least so if they were going out again she could help manage that. With a calm smile she would jump around as she knew some nuggets were dead beats while others were better. Jojo recognized parts of the ship as she would follow a step to the left and behind Rai's position. Reminded her of back when Rai and her first met as it were. Such a thing was simple though she knew it was an easy acquaintance. "So Rai, what did you have in mind to attempt to arm the trainer with?"

Sam followed the two and when Rai explained the difference in the two GINNS she sighed but followed along silently without protest. She didn’t really care how they got the weapons for the GINN as long as it provided some means of a challenge. “I know some people who can help us arm the trainer.” She finally spoke up and thought up who would be the best people to contact.

Rai turned quickly to Sam when she mentioned her contacts. "You've got some ideas already?" she asked. Looking back at Jo as Sam had the chance to respond, Rai nodded.
"I figure we just get our hands on the dumbest, simplest guns and missiles we can, ditch any excess weight in the leg armor to keep a higher center of mass for quicker agility, and do the usual field adjustments to beef up the mechanics for landing stresses." It was easy enough to discuss casually, but the undertaking itself, Rai knew, would be massive. Engineers were better suited to developing a mass-production mobile suit.
Then again, there were hundreds of examples in history of hobbyists and uneducated inventors finding cost effective and efficient solutions to problems bureaucratic engineers could not solve with their traditional education. In some cases, all it came down to was knowing how to turn a wrench.

Jojo didn't need long to help with the ideas. Most would be the typical ideas but not hers as she would giggle at such a realization. "Why don't we just put some ripcord daggers in it? The ripcord would have about three MS arm's lengths while at the tip is a trident styled dagger with the tips empowered with beams. The ripcord would be self reliable as it would retract itself once slack is given. Turn off the beams and you can glide along walls with it." Her idea was extraordinary in her eyes as she would thing of where to put them. "Put them on either side of the chest cavity." Her idea was made and she had given it a good piece of information to it as well. Aside from the Ripcord Daggers she had no other ideas for hidden weaponry.

“I can contact some old friends and see if I can get some surplus missiles and a machine gun or two and if needed we can get a few machine guns and cannibalize the working parts into one working gun.” Sam thought for a moment. “When do you need the guns and missiles by, I can see about putting in a overnight order.”
