In a world of technological development one can only say that there is always a change in technology and it was her job to accustom herself to these changes. She would awaken on the bottom bunk in her usually night clothing seeing as how it was always stand by. It normally consisted of the shirt that was sizes too big and some sport shorts. This was her night wear as she would raise up from her average sleeping area of the bottom. She sighed lightly and began to get into the uniform she wore first day here as she would also put the beads and feather in her hair even, She only hoped she didn't wake up anyone.

Rai stirred in her sleep, clenching her fists. She knew the training was meant to improve her combative abilities in the GINN, but she was frustrated. ZAFT was too focused on melee weapons and individual effort. That was to be expected, of course, from a group of people who thought themselves superior to Naturals.
Still, why not use a gun when you could? If piloting a machine, why have all the extra nonsense like thumbs, fingers, and legs? Just make something go fast, turn quick, and shoot lots of stuff. That would be the proper engineering approach.. "Keep it Simple, Stupid."
Jo stirred underneath her bunk, and seemed to be dressing. "H..ey..." Rai croaked out, yawning. "Where... you going?"

Jojo had finished putting the last of the beads in her hair. She looked over at her roommate by looking upwards at that drowsy face. In some cases the face itself was cute to look at yet she would keep such comments to herself. She would smile though as her freshing up was almost complete. "I was just going down to the hanger to do some modifications to my Murasame. I'm sorry to wake you Rai."
And ideally she was sorry seeing as how the two of them were probably the only unmodified coordinators they needed the most rest out of the normal soldier while also the most training. It was her own firm belief that team work brought the best out of people and that training exercise at the academy was a complete mess when referring that so many never followed orders. It was always a tactical mess.

Rai shook her head apologetically, albeit in a slow, sluggish manner. "It's...o-kay..." she slurred. "Could stand to...*yawn*...make some adjustments, too... Meet you in fifteen?"
Rai reached for the railing of the bunk, and slowly lowered herself down the ladder to the floor. Stretching, she turned from her bunk to Jo, still wearing her "Mini-Gun: We Bring Good Things to Life!" t-shirt.
Slowly dressing in her red uniform, Rai ran a splash of cold water on her face, forcing herself awake. Yawning again, she stumbled to the door.

Jojo was worried about the girl. Personally this early in the morning she herself would be asleep but it only went to show how much she loved to push herself. She looked at Rai and sighed as she went out the door and waited there at the side just so the sleepy roommate wouldn't wind up falling down steps, much how Jojo had once before. She had said okay but she wanted Rai to be safe, just was the thing with her.
So having waited outside for an allotted time she would see the door open and Rai, with her semi-awake self, walk out. Jojo kindly smiled and had said, "Figured I'd wait on you just to make sure you didn't fall or anything." Ideally she really did care and it was just in her nature to do so. So with that being said she would continue on with Rai to the hanger bay, gladly no one was awake at this hour but the mechanics who loved to be awake all night and sleep in the day.

Rai smiled. "Gracias, amiga," Rai answered, smiling faintly. Jo was pretty nice as a roommate, and fairly decent as a pilot. She had held her own in the recent ACM exercises. "So, please tell me you're going to pack some more ammo and guns on that Murasame. Those vulcans don't deliver enough punch as a back-up weapon."
Walking along the hangar deck, Watanabe glanced up at her GINN Custom. "Taima" was still sitting there, stripped of her armaments while on the deck. It frustrated her, but Rai knew the captain would have her head if she armed the mobile suit before deployment. Still... she had some ideas...

The same old issue came up, her having to arm the murasame. It was always funny when it came to her weaponry choice and of course her murasame would pay the price for it in the future. She loved it to say the least, cause it meant that something had been going on long enough and she was being noticed. Jojo kinda found it laughable though. Jojo had the pleasure to see that small smile along Rai's face so she decided she mad a good choice here and there.
For now though she would look at her murasame. It was in mobile armor mode in a way that it was just looking like a jet. She liked it like this due to the speed it granted though targeting decreased slightly due to it. She smiled lightly as she looked around. She would easily climb up a ladder and into the cockpit to activate stand-by phasing to work with colors of the energy output so that it wasn't the ugly orange'sh scarlet color.
"So Rai, what did you have in mind for guns? To replace my vulcans?" Knowing Rai the best guns would probably be ZAFT grade naturally but who knew. She would of course love the suit no matter so long as she could complete the package for the electronic warfare which was the main proponent she needed to work with. This all would occur while working on the color package of the OS.

Rai shook her head. "Keep the vulcans, but add something extra, that you can use in mobile suit or armor mode..." She looked over the Murasame, then back to her GINN Custom. Starting to climb the catwalk stairs slowly to the hatch of Taima, she tripped the release handle, and watched the hatch slowly open. Reaching in, she powered up the mobile suit, and after performing some initial checks, brought the M69 Barrus Heavy Ion Cannon up in the mech's grip. Shutting down, Rai started inspecting the weapon, checking over each subsystem visually.
"If I have to ditch this weapon in space, I surely need something to replace it immediately..." Looking around, Rai grinned, noting the Pardus missile launchers mounted at the calves of the GINN, and the bandoleer of grenades strapped to the machine's waist. With the sword, Taima was reasonably armed.
Still, Rai thought she was missing something. Nodding as the realization finally dawned on her, she started towards the armory. "Hey, I need two submachine guns!" Receiving an odd look from the armorer, the man nodded sluggishly, before handing two weapons to Rai. "Clips, too... Say about three each."
Slightly disturbed by the sight of a random officer wandering the hangar deck with guns. Handing one to Jo, she started back up to the hatch of her GINN. Once there, she reached for a drill bit, a drill, and some fasteners.
Drilling and tapping a mounting hole, Rai threaded a bolt through a hole in the weapon's sling before feeding it into the newly drilled hole in the cockpit. Cinching down the weapon's sling until the submachine gun clung to the inner wall of the cockpit, Rai grinned. She tucked the three magazines into her flightsuit's lower thigh pocket.
Sealing the hatch and checking for pressure leaks, she was satisfied when all her atmospheric gauges read nominal. Finally, opening the cockpit, she climbed down back to Jo. "Think that does it..."

With a calming sigh she finished the paint job to an alright spec as she powered up fully to take full notice of the glorious power paint. "So I won't be replacing them... Just need more powerful weaponry." It would take some thinking before her mind came up with it. A single beam rifle that allowed for three composite weaponry devises. She would look at the beam rifle she had and would take a look at it as she found a mag handed to her. She shrugged and would then think up herself to a proper thought.
She'd pull up the specs and begin digging through the gun itself as she would pull off her top allowing it not to get greased up, thank god she wore a tank top underneath. She would continue on as she dug through it as it was. She would look at the spare compartment and would trade in the mag for an additional rifle barrel, explosive round clips and a beam localhost. She had an idea and that was all it was needed to be. She would begin muttering to herself all the physical neutrons of the brain and then how long one can live without oxygen and so on.
She truly was a complete mess to most as she went about drilling and burrowing into that gun applying necessary adjustments. Mag attachment to the side and the bottom held a small box for her electrical warfare gear while the second was a beam rifle mag. She would make this a grand weapon as she harnessed a little energy into the box with a few computer parts as she localized how much it would take from the energy filler. The whole machine was a great thing. "Localize five percent output into zero gravity, ten in gravity air fields. Kill potential maximum three stage virus." She was on auto pilot till her adjustments were made and the gun was fastened with all that she could make as she weld the outsides and the metal work shut.

Rai looked up at Jo, scratching her head in confusion. Some of what her roommate said, she could understand, but others, she had absolutely no idea...
Climbing up the catwalk to the Murasame, Watanabe watched over her friend. "Seems like a good machine, I guess... What kind of acceleration do you get out of it?"

Jojo was finishing up the fine tuning as she looked up at Rai. She had said something as Jojo would wipe a greasy hand to wipe sweat from her own forehead. She would pause, breathe, and then take a towel she had found laying around and wiped her hands as she would say, "About .7 G take off with maximum safety acceleration being 1.95 G. Average about 1.6 G acceleration."
With a calm look at the GINN she popped her neck and would stand up in her cock pit heading out only after doing lock and shut down procedures on her Murasame. "And you GINN. What acceleration you get with her?" She was kind in asking it and she didn't mind if ships were faster or slower because if she ever perfected her "bug" program things may well go down south for anyone.

Rai felt rather sheepish. The GINN wasn't known for high performance and agility. "Just 1.2 G's, max acceleration," she indicated. "Yeah... just meh..." Now, however, Rai was intrigued with the Murasame. Why hadn't ZAFT developed something like this? Okay, besides the Gundams which were so conveniently handed out to top pilots... why couldn't they make fast, agile weapons?

Jojo would look at Rai and hoped there wasn't any offense taken due to her machine. Personally the only way to get the greatest acceleration was in the mobile armor mode of the machine. She would rest a hand on Rai's shoulder with a calm smile while picking up her red coat from the side bar of the cat walk, "Rai, even if your ship doesn't have big speed about it, I still think you are one hell of a good sniper. No matter what." She liked to encourage people and this would hopefully raise some self esteem about Rai.

Rai smiled faintly, nodding slightly to Jo's encouragement. "Thanks, Jo. Guess Taima does suit me better. Still, it would be nice to see more of our main-line suits able to keep up with these Gundam knock-offs."

Jojo smiled as she looked at murasame. "If anything these things are good bogies for you to do your sniping. If anything I mostly use mine for its speed just to run around the field. After all, you know of my fun when it comes to electrical items." She giggled at it seeing as how she was a hacker. She would then climb down the cat walk as she looked at the GINN, "And if we had more of our Main-line suits with the speed of the murasame I think we'd be in one big cluster fuck at times. There has to be differences between levels and I wouldn't want to be the one teaching the nuggets how to manage the speed." Though that was a funny thought. A unmodified being teaching the modified ones how to manage speed. She would then ask, "Anything else you'd like done to your machine? I think mine is fairly good."
