[Shinn Asuka]

It would be a perfect day as the heavenly golden mass from above would rain down upon the vegetable green domain below. New life would sprout as the fresh air of today would contain the absolute aroma of the nature itself. Taking a deep yet depressive breath , our youngster Shinn would spend his day at the cafeteria as he would depose his tablet upon one of the numerous tables that would be found. Sitting away and alone , while feeling that he is excluded from the rest yet special , Shinn would open up his milk bottle then drink to his contempt while not trying to clear the images that would currently be on his minds... Just looking at those people sitting each other , smiling and discussing as friends would disgust and enrage the youth... It gives him a feeling that he has long felt before... The feeling of warm. The feeling of a family...

''Ptch.. What's so great about this...''

In a detested tone , Shinn would take up his fork and his eating knife to cut a portion of the steak that would be on his plate as he would then stab it with his fork and put it in his mouth, eating elegantly pieces by pieces. The youth'd try to not pay too much attention toward his surroundings as the only friend that he would have made so far would be Lunamaria and Rey though they would be no where to be seeing right now. Even though , that several girls in the academy looked up to Shinn , the boy wouldn't actually give a damn as he would put on his all high and mighty attitude.

Absorbed in her novel, Delilah walked purposefully along the food line with her tray balanced in front of her. It wasn't a particularly uncommon sight; the second year girl almost as famous for her reading material as she was for her older sister among the student body. She flipped the page idly, simultaneously filling her tray with a chosen meal before departing for the tables. Without so much as looking up, Delilah weaved through other cadets moving around with such practiced movements it was nearly impossible to tell if she had simply memorized the route or had some other means to view her surroundings.

Either way, it took little time for her to make it to the table and set the tray down with a clatter. Delilah's eyes finally strayed from the book as she glanced over her tablemate and his food selection, "A celebration, maybe?" she remarked, more to herself than anything else. Steak always seemed like a special occasion type of food.

Shin'd concentrate on his meal , though the silence and pleasant atmosphere would soon be disrupted by a joyful female voice. Upon a brief observation as the youth would remain quiet while his eyes would stroll upon her appearance for a few minutes Shinn would get back to his meal ignoring her comment. Is this another follower or so called proposal fan girls?... If it is Shinn isn't going to take it as he doesn't have the slightest interest in sort of relation ships right now. Little in height and unnatural blue hair... was is this?

''Ptch...''

Though a brief red blush would pass on Shin's cheek as he would turn around and reconcentrate on his meal. After all ... The boy was shy around girls... Not that he found her attractive or anything... Just that a girl randomly popped out like that.

''Why do you care... ''

The girl shrugged, setting the book on the table and flipping the page again, "I don't," Delilah replied simply. She was used to moody people; with the war still going on, there was no shortage of grim faced cadets of civilians. But it wasn't like everything was all doom and gloom, Icarus XIII was about as far away from the conflict as it could be and people continued to live rather peacefully within.

Delilah picked idly at the salad, reading between bites before turning her gaze on the boy again. He seemed distracted by something... The girl took a moment to check around her, trying to find the source of the odd reaction, "Was it not good? I heard they overcook the steak," she finally said, guessing at the problem. The new activity proved to be interesting enough to keep her attention off of the novel and she tapped her chin thoughtfully, "Or did someone just confess? Boarding schools always bring such good inspiration!"

The boy would wonder how he got himself in all this as the silent and pleasant moment of few minutes ago suddenly turned into an awkward and idiotic one... Shinn would have almost puked his food out when the girl commented on the steak that he ate as he tried to retain it inside of his throat by finishing his bottle of milk in an instant. Shin'd get angry as his face would be mad blushing of embarrassment while he would give another stare at the childish looking girl. Seems like all she would have on her plate is a bowl of salad... Now how was she actually going to keep herself in good shape with just a few pieces of leafs...? Furthermore , Shin'd remark the appearance of a rather childish looking book upon the female's hand... Isn't that one of these kid reading manga or novel...? Right...

''Say's from someone who's actually reading that childish book... No ... no one confessed , though ,why are you so interested into others people's affairs anyway?''

Shinn, take a brief moment to calm himself down as he would nod then stare at the girl with his unique crimson ruby eyes for an instant before turning away again.With his face still red , the boy'd try to talk with a normal tone while not looking toward the girl.

''The name's Shinn... Shinn Asuka...''

Surely , she'd know him right? I mean... Shinn is a really popular guy among the academy because of his extremely good grades and exceptional talents. No doubt he was the best of his year , though the source of energy that would give such determination would be that of a bad one... Vengeance would be what has lead on the boy to be what he would be today... Countless efforts were spend in order to hope... That one day he will actually achieve his goal...

Ren was lost.

Well, kinda...

He had been enrolled a month ago in the academy but hadn't officially been "moved" in yet till today. They had to make accommodations, after all, for him. He had already changed out of his civvies into the academy uniform but chose to wore his neck ribbon still tied to the uniform. The only thing that distinguished him from a female cadet was the fact he had pants, and not a skirt, on. Though his general femmine air got him a few wolf whistles he sighed exasperatedly.

Walking the halls trying to find the way to the dorms he stumbled upon the cafeteria. Maybe he could ask someone for directions?

Worth a shot right?

"Uh... e-excuse me?" his voice was to quiet to be heard over the din of the room and continued to be so for a few minutes, Um... e-excuse me? Hey... um... excuse me? But... uh... errr.." he finally noticed that he wasn't speaking up loud enough. He then inhaled a deep breath and bellowed out, "EXCUSE ME BUT CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHERE THE DORMS ARE!?"

He felt the heavy silence around and everyone's eyes being focused on him before he scratched his forehead nervously with on finger and added in, "Uh.. p-please? heh heh?"

That's when someone thought it'd be funny to toss something at the total newbie. What happened next no one could have predicted because what was tossed appeared to be a very heavy object that was traveling with pretty serious speed towards Ren from behind.

He couldn't possibly have seen it.

But what happened next rendered the room even more silent than his out burst had.

Ren didn't just dodge the attack. No, in one motion he turned to the side so that the object, easily recognizable as a heavy ball of some kind, passed inches by his head. He then caught the heavy ball and returned it back to the sender. It hit the dude dead on the throat cutting him off mid-laugh and knocking him out cold.

And it all happened in the span of less than three seconds.

Ren scratched his forehead again with one finger.

"Can s-someone show me where the dorms are?"

Delilah tilted her head, "Childish?" she paused for a moment, pondering appropriate responses, then stuck out her tongue. While it was disappointing to learn there had not been a recent declaration of undying affection, it was more so for the disregard of her reading material's literary merits. She lowered her gaze back to the book and turned the page, continuing without looking up, "Obviously you haven't been reading the Maiden Parallel Paradox series, or you just don't know what you're talking about,"

The blue-haired girl probably could have launched into the unabridged explanation on why her collection of romance novels and the stacks of manga volumes in her room were far from childish, but the interruption provided by another arrival in the Cafeteria ensured Delilah would be cut short. Her efforts to remain focused despite the shouting request were finally overcome when she glanced up after the audible gasps the soon followed.

She wasn't sure what had happened, but the girl at the center of it all was going about it all wrong, "You're supposed to be eating right now," Delilah declared matter-of-factly with a quick nod. Who would want to skip the mealtime?

Shin'd face would begin to show a more despaired expression as the seconds would pass.Heck , telling him to read a Manga? No way in hell , Shinn would even touch a book like that. They are only drawings right?... What can be so good about it after all? It's not like that there were even anything to learn from these as there were hardly even a speech but only images. In either case , the youth wasn't going to let himself being pulled within her ''fantastic unrealistic world of mangas'' as he would respond in a quite mockey yet cocky tone.

''Heh? Please don't take me into your geeky stuffs please. I do understand that you like them , but don't start telling me names.''

A smirk would form upon the youth's lips as he would find the circumstances rather funny. Shinn rarely comes in contact with a girl , though this one would... well how to say... be kind of special as the first thing she did was to comment on her food then show him her mangas. Now Shinn'd wonder if if all girls are like this also... Though , the youth's attention would be drawn toward the arrival of a crazy new comer as the man would scream out loud asking for directions , though it wouldn't be long before Shinn's attention get drawn toward the girl again for a secondary advice to make her look less dumb while he would try to put his Pink cellphone within his pocket.

''I said my name earlier... So what's yours?''

"Oh" was all he could manage to say before slumping his shoulders and dragging himself over to the source of this helpful tip and crashing down next to her in a heap of sorrow. "But I've been told to find my dorm... b-but they didn't give me directions and I'm hopelessly lost." He sighed and glanced over at what she was reading. He recognized the manga but it wasn't really one of the ones he was particularly interested in.

He felt the needed to comment though, because maybe if he showed some interest she'd show him where the dorms were.

"Maiden Parallel Paradox huh? You're a f-fan of shoujo manga?" It was pretty obvious he was a shy boy by nature and was trying his hardest to appear confident. It... wasn't really working so well. Still he forged on ahead.

"I kinda prefer something with m-more action in it like Mirror Dive or Demon Ronin: Yatagarasu but I can see the appreciation for a good romance without a-action I s-suppose."

Scrunching up her nose, the blue-haired cadet stuck her tongue out again in response to her tablemate. Obviously, he was a very confused boy... or at least distracted to the state of confusion. It wasn't "geeky stuff" and, besides, why would she take advice from someone eating an overcooked steak? That would be silly. So she shrugged and returned to the task at hand: eating and, maybe, finishing this volume before their next class.

The conversation would have been over, but then the moody boy was speaking again. Delilah paused, he had seemed irritated by her curiosity a second ago. Tsundere? There was a brief moment where she pictured him with long twintails, but the girl shook it off. He had introduced himself? Delilah thought back; she probably had heard something like that... Right before the trouble with the other girl. Delilah's thoughtful expression grew into a grin upon the arrival of the lost cadet.

She listened to an explanation of the situation, determining the girl must be new, "Oh? They probably didn't even think about it, right? It's already midterm," Delilah suggested and pointed out the opposite exit "It's just outside that way, across the lawn. Really big building~ But like I said, it's meal time,"

When the new arrival mentioned her manga, Delilah nodded happily and looked up from her reading again, "I see, they can be exciting also," she agreed. Of course, most of the novels still in her dorm were mainly romance but there were always the hybrids... and everyone knew a daring rescue always planted the seeds of a lovely relationship.

That's right!

Just as she expected, the memory returned and she could recall Shinn's introduction from earlier, "Ah! That's Shinnie," she declared, pointing at the boy, "I'm Delilah!"

Shinn'd feel a little embarrassed upon the sudden call of the girl as he would be given a rather dumb and childish nickname... Just as predicted from someone like her , though a brief mark of redness would appear upon's the youth face as he would raise his left arm without thinking out of madness while it is holding his Pink Cell Phone and shout at the girl.

''Hey! Don't start giving me stupid names please! The name's Shin-... Shinn Asuka! Clear!?

Tilting his head to the side , Shinn would remark the appearance of the new comer once again as his eyes would examine upon interest. The guy looked fairly pale with curly black hair. Now who was he?... The youth would have never meet him before or come in cross within the hall ways... And since its already the mid term... It's now that he is asking where the dorms are?... Shinn would be really confused as he would ask himself why the boy would even ask such a stupid question or unless... Unless he just transferred here? Looking toward the other male , Shinn'd give a formal salutation to give his well and polite image as he would await for an introduction of this guy.

''The name's Shinn Asuka. Nice to meet you.''

"I figured as much but they're going through the t-trouble of having me enroll here. They should h-have given me directions" he sighed. Then a thought came over him and he decided to act on it instantly to clear up any confusion.

"I dunno if the dorms are co-ed here but you know I'm a guy r-right?" he inquired of Dell whilst staring into her eyes. His eyes were the color of a solar flare. These bright orange gem stone like eyes that almost shined in the light of the cafeteria. He was giving her the low key equivalent of the "sparkle beam" so to speak.

When Dell and Shin introduced themselves he responded in kind, "My n-name is Ren, Ren Antheia... uh... I'm the one they've probably been talking about. I got that feeling since I came here today. E-everyone's been s-staring at me like I'm an alien or s-something."

[Oz.]

As expected, Shinn remained stubbornly attached to his moody demeanor and renounced the carefully crafted nickname Delilah had decided on. There was just no helping some people, she supposed. But on the other hand, it seemed like there were those who needed all the help they could get... Delilah eyed the new cadet as she stammered out another sentence, but the blue-haired girl was able to easily wave off the concern, returning to her manga.

At least until the next part.

Delilah looked up again, locking eyes with the... boy? She held the curious stare for a moment then leaned forward and put her empty hand across Ren's forehead, "Are you?" Delilah asked, though now that it had been mentioned she could vaguely see it for herself. Maybe that ruled out feverish delirium. As an uncertain last ditch effort, Delilah moved even closer and sniffed lightly. She withdrew her hand and leaned back with a thoughtful expression, and then glanced down at her manga, "...It's in the same building..."

Honestly, she didn't know what kind of scent cue she was supposed to "detect" though the process. But she doubted either of the other boys knew that, "I see. Did you bring something to eat?" Delilah nudged her salad bowl and grinned, "Do you want some, Ren?"

Shinn'd express a rather mocking facial expression as he would suddenly be caught in for a surprise upon the speech of the boy. Eh!? He is a male!? IS that possible!? The youth was sure that the new comer would be a female. After all , who wouldn't be confused after seeing such pale and threatened skin and soft eyes?

Sitting there , Shinn would observe the two person in front of him discussing with each other as he would wonder , how did get got himself in all this?... This was suppose to be his eating table!? Now why did a random geeky girl popped out of nowhere and sat on his table!? And great ... Now there's even more company , though Shinn would totally understand the guy as he himself would be threaded this way mostly because of his uniqueness and differences. Actually , it doesn't take much to out-sand the other students here as Shinn worked a lot harder then most of them , because the determination for his vengeance just keep pushing on.

''I totally understand how you fell Ren... Just ignore them! They are just all bunches of idiots who has never seeing anything!''

Saying in a mockery tone , that speech that Shinn has just given would actually provoke a few student to stand up , though they would remain in silent as there were nothing for them to do... Surely they wouldn't want to mess with Shinn , though few would still give his annoyed stare.

Ren blinked several times through Dell's antics. What was she doing? Then she leaned in and... sniffed him? Ren blushed lightly, "O-o-oh" He then suddenly became fascinated by the floor; unable to look at Dell without his blush becoming more obvious. He then fiddled his fingers then his neck ribbon before deciding to return the favor to Dell. If she could do it to him he could do it to her right?

So he did.

And he ended up blushing more because she smelled really nice.

She smells so nice...

Stupid idea.

When she asked him about if he brought food and if he wanted some of her salad his stomach growled a bit, "I u-uh d-didn't b-bring any f-food. I-I'd love s-some t-thank y-you."

His composure was crumbling rapidly and it made him look absolutely adorable.
