I can understand the second gameboy title. X2 wasn't bad in my opinion, though.

ZX Advent was okay in my opinion and I have no real opinion on Star Force 2, aside it wasn't that bad of a game.

Yeah, I saw that a long time ago. I made up a huge response about to for rather obvious reasons (MMX2 Team and ZXA being my favorite MM game) but the site goofed or something and deleted by post.

Anyway, It's kind of silly. Mega Man 2 is considered by many to be not only the best Classic game but the best Mega Man game period. Battle Network 2 is considered by many to be the best EXE game. X2, Legends 2, Zero 2, Star Force 2, and ZX Advent are more or less on the same level as their predecessors (actually, Zero 2 might be even more so... it's my favorite in the series, anyway).

So the only real bad one is Mega Man II, which still isn't that bad... if you ignore the music and Quint.

Remember folks, just because you think they might be bad, doesn't mean everyone else thinks it might be bad!

MegaMan 2 is pure brilliance! Where else could I find an idol with a yellow boomerang and red armor? :0

BN2 was the first Battle Network game I played, but it's so-so. Now 6... >:3 (Hee hee HeatMan on SPEEEEED)

I've never actually got into X2. All I know is there's Sigma (duh) and Overdrive Ostrich. That's the only Maverick I remember... mmsad.gif

Never played ZX or Starforce.

I've SEEN someone play Legends 2.

Yes, my human is not constructive. SO WHAT ?

In all fairness, though, he is forced to agree.

For the record, Mega Man II was the first Mega Man game I ever owned, so I do hold some nostalgia over it... including the music and Quint.

So I guess you could say, I disagree entirely with that topic?

Although it is shameful plugging, I am advising you to click this link for your own good! I mean, you remembered the Maverick with quite possibly the longest name ever.

X2 was my childhood game when I was 12. Loved the music. I use ot take my tape recorder and recorded all the music in it. Hell, even my friends and I played as the Mavericks and X out in my yard one day.

BN had it's up and downs. Peopel say BN4 was bad, whichI have yet toplay. I didn't like BN 6.

DX Man, I would remember the long-named one. I'm just magic like that! >:[

But at least I've got some help here. :3

I still own MMII on the GB. My beef with it was the squashed sprites and Megaman being tallker than even the RMs. Which was fixed in MMIII and so on. Someone even did a review of the game.

I liked all the games listed on here...cept for Megaman II GB and Starforce 2 (Never played those)

X2 was a classic, although I played Xtreme 1 before it...but even still there wouldn't be an Xtreme 1 if it weren't for X2...and even worse, none of the awesome mavericks. mmsad.gif

As for ZX Advent, I only recently started playing it, but hot damn is it good. I love the main villain in it...even if he is all contradictory according to Rebel's article. He sure acts evil and that's good enough for me!

...*goes to play it some more*

Yeah, II for the Game Boy wasn't as bad as people say (actually, I don't think the soundtrack was a complete piece of crap either, so yeah).

On the other hand, I never saw why people thought #2 for the NES is so awesome. I really don't see it, honestly. The sound effects don't actually start sounding good until the next game, the music isn't the best and the game just doesn't provide enough of a challenge.

I haven't finished StarForce 2 (haven't picked it up in a long time), but I found it tough to get used to since it changed a few concepts from the first game. The hardest one for me was actually how they changed the Wave Roads, and that confused me for a bit.

X2 was definitely on par with the first game in the series, if not better. I kinda preferred it to the original in some respects, and it's definitely a tad overlooked. I just wish I had more chances to play it (of course, I found an emulator and got the game for my lappy, but I think I need to get a controller for it still or I can't really play it. ^^; )

I can't comment on the others, though, since I don't know anything about them (Zero 2's actually the only one in the Zero series I don't have, unfortunately).

No offense but in an argument like "I don't get why people love GAME X so much" sounds effects would be the last thing I'd bring up. And honestly, what's so different about sound effects from MM2 compared to the later games? There weren't much changes IIRC.

Megaman 2 on the NES was the first Megaman game I played. Still, I like it, but not as much as 3 or 5. 2 had some classic music such as Wily's stage 1 and the stage themes as well.

3 was dreafully easy as piss, but still a good game.

Well, the way I set that sentence up was basically starting with the smallest bits and then going to bigger parts of the argument. ^^;; I know I nitpick a lot, but still, I guess you could say I did things in the opposite order you did. I have a tendency to point out the smaller things before working up to the biggest issues.

But since I didn't really elaborate on it:

Honestly, I think Mega Man 2 is just too easy for its own good and is extremely overrated. I don't think it was really until 4 or 5 that the games managed to hit the middle ground difficulty-wise, but since 2 was so easy, I don't see anywhere near as much replay value in it as I do in the last three NES games (or at least 4 and 5).

I know I nitpicked the sound a lot, though, and I admit that's not really a major issue, but I noticed a lot of differences, and I honestly thought the sound effects in the later games sounded better, along with the instruments used for the music. For me, it was an improvement when they starting using different sounds in Mega Man 3 and on, and the composers themselves started making better themes (I think only about half the stage themes in MM2 were amazing and the others weren't /bad/, but just okay and not too interesting).

But yeah, I think the game was too easy to really be enjoyable. I don't see why people like this game in particular, really. I know I don't have a lot of points on which to base my... semi-dislike of this game, but it just didn't click with me, really. Of course, I also don't have the clearest idea why people like it, just that a lot of people who like Mega Man think it's the best Mega Man game ever.

Yeah, I don't think you are going to win an argument about MM2 not being as good as the later games any time soon, REX. mmtongue.gif

I mean, I like other games more than 2, but not everyone agrees with my opinion, either.
