Well this maybe stretching it a bit as Kat merchandise. But hey, she flew a Viper right?!

Here is a sneak peek at the injection molded plastic model kit coming from Moebius models early next year. wink.gif

Edit: This is called a "test shot". Some details may change and clear parts will be included for the canopy, etc.

Looks cool! As I love spaceships in general and the Viper MKII in particular, I might just buy it.

I grew up in the days when (nerdy) kids spent hours building model kits. So I have a huge stash of kits and continue to collect them. While I haven't built a model since I was a kid, I hope to rediscover the hobby in my senior years. So yes I will be purchasing the Viper model. wink.gif

BTW still no comment from the producer if they are going to include some or all of the pilots names on the decal sheet. If not I am sure an after market company will. thumbsup.gif

Well, I couldn't think of a better model to help reinvigorate your passion for model kits. I look forward to the pictures smile.gif

Nice find on the new Viper pics. I plan on buying two of these. Making a Kat version and a Starbuck version. Wish I had waited on buying that expensive Viper kit. dry.gif Hope they have different nameplates to choose from.

Yeah, me too! wink.gif

If not, I'll probably need to make my own somehow. There once were decal sheets one could print oneself with an inkjet printer, I hope they still make these. Then it would be possible to print one using the pictures from the auction catalog fro example.

Hey Frosty, in case you do get one, Kat's Viper tailnumber was 7961NC.

http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Viper_7961

Also, these guys have a decal sheet for the Viper. Hopefully, it is the same scale as the Moebius model.

There will most certainly be an "aftermarket" decal sheet if one is not included for all the pilots in the Moebius kit.

Update on Moebius Viper Model Kit decal specs. According to someone from the company it will have markings for only two pilots. :-( I am sure those will be Apollo and Starbuck.

Kinda surprised. How much of a big deal could it be to include other call signs on a decal sheet? rolleyes.gif

But not to worry. I expect an after market company will provide decal sheet for the other pilots.

Has Apollo ever flown a Mark II? unsure.gif

Why you should watch "VERONICA MARS"

The Doctor: History says there was an explosion here. Who am I to argue?

Too bad that there are only decals for two pilots. Apollo and Starbuck would be my guess as well. In case there won't be a Kat version available from any other company, I'd print my own, this shouldn't be much of a problem as we have pictures of her nameplate in the auction catalog.

@Lex: Yes, he has flown a Mark II in the miniseries (he arrived with a Mk VII there, but flow a Mark II for both the ceremony and the battle of Ragnar) and in "The Hand of God".

An independent company called jt-graphics will be creating after market decals for the Viper Model kit.

I'll have decals ready by the time the kit hits stores. It will include more pilot names/numbers as well as different "canon" shields...

Cool! And as the Kat is one of the most famous of the other pilots, I'll be sure hers will be included with these decals. smile.gif

Review test shot of the Moebius Viper Model Kit. As suspected only Starbuck and Apollo are included on the decal sheet.

starshipmodeler.com

But as I commented above there will be an aftermarket decal sheet with the other pilots. wink.gif

I lurk on other boards. naughty.gif

Seriously just from a hobbies board. The kit hits the store shelfs/internet stores "late February/early March". I read the aftermarket decals will be available at the same time.

I am sure you can Google JT Graphics for more info on the decals. Don't have their web site book marked off hand.
