Here's some more info: This production company also produced the following titles: # "Painkiller Jane" (2007) ... Production Company # "Young Blades" (2005) ... Production Company # Zolar (2004) (TV) ... Production Company Lucci has somewhat of a relationship with this company. The last title? Well not Lucci related but I thought worth mentioning.

As always, Pedda is late for the party, but this kind of news doesn't leave him cold, of course. To the contrary: What a profound relief to know that our Lucci got a new project! The lack of news had all of us a little worried. Finally she's allowed to do what she does so well, again - honing her skills and experiencing a new "person" in the process, and entertaining a broad audience in the end. So "Phantom Racer" it is. According to Sci Fi's press release back in July, the movie's premise is as follows: " Greg Evigan ('B.J. & the Bear') hits the road again in this flick about a racecar driver from beyond the grave." Hmm, I'm not sure what to make of this. I have never heard of Greg Evigan or " B.J. and the Bear" - a show about a trucker and a chimp. ^^ Well, PR's premise could mean anything. If I had to describe BSG in ten words (human-looking killer robots nuke Earth and procreate with survivors), that wouldn't sound very attractive, either. On the other hand, as Frosty indicated, Sci Fi's original movies don't have the best reputation, as they range from a few excellent entries (BSG Mini), to ambitious stuff ("Tin Man"), to mediocre movies ("Nemo"), to a vast number of ludicrous monster flicks (like, prehistoric sharks attack Malibu), to movies of the so-trashy-it's-cult category. Well, let's hope for the best. According to this document released by UBCP (a regional trade union), shooting started October 28 and is scheduled to wrap this Friday. Hence, if we're really, really lucky, we could read something new about this project pretty soon. Anyway, I sincerely hope Luciana thoroughly enjoys her gig. Also, I wonder if this marks more than just a temporary return to Vancouver. I'm told a couple genre shows are going to be produced up there next year. Winston Rekert: Next to Luciana's, his name was actually the only one among PR's cast and crew that I knew. I remember his swearing-in scenes in BSG quite well, so I look forward to watch him in a different role. | QUOTE (Frosty) | | And "Deputy Monroe" sounds cool. So she will play a policewomen? I like her in uniform! |
As soon as I read "Deputy..." I said to myself: "Hmm, I know a Lucci-in-uniform aficionado who's gonna be really happy now". Then again, who am I to say no to a fetching Italian-Canadian playing a tough-chick Deputy Sherriff in a genre setting ( hint)? FYI: Although I'm late to post here, I did add a Phantom Racer page to the Fansite as soon as early Tuesday morning. Btw: As for me offering to trade in my upcoming Christmas and birthday presents... that was just a limited December deal-with-the-devil special, of course. Maybe next year.

You know, the first time I read the title "Phantom Racer", I had to think about "Ghost Rider". Judging from the trailer back then in the cinemas and the scenes I saw when a guy watched it on his laptop on a train, that movie was about an undead motorbike driver on a revenge trip. Maybe the SciFi people decided to do something similar with a racecar? And maybe it's not connected at all.

Me neither. I looked at all the other listed actor's IMDb pages, and there was no one who's name rings any bells. | QUOTE (Pedda @ Nov 20 2008, 01:19 AM) | | shooting started October 28 and is scheduled to wrap this Friday. |
Good work finding this! It's interesting, but I don't think there will be any news until the movie is well into post production. Anyway, it's an interesting thought that right now, while we are sitting comfortably in front of our computers, Lucci might be somewhere on a film set where she faces terrible danger, fight for her life... or sit around bored and drink a cup of tea while waiting for her scenes to be shot. | QUOTE (Pedda @ Nov 20 2008, 01:19 AM) | Anyway, I sincerely hope Luciana thoroughly enjoys her gig. Since I'm a science fiction fan, I would selfishly like her to do that again. And, also selfishly, if would get a role in a successful genre show, it would vastly improve the chances of seeing her at a con again. | QUOTE (Solium) | | Don't forget I absolutely love Diana from "Murder at the Presidio"! I guess I got a thing for Lucci in uniform and cap. |
Yep, me too! When I read "Deputy Monroe", my first thought was how I loved her as Corporal Phillips! Then the mental image of her in "Murder at the Presidio" in a military uniform changed to her in a police uniform, and I decided that's not bad at all.
