Imagine my surprise when I stumbled over the release schedule of Australia-based distributor Peacock Films. Apparently, Urgency will be released on DVD (Region 4) in November. Finally! The year-long wait is almost over! Let's hope we'll soon hear about releases in Region 1 (North America) and Region 2 (Europe), too. Peacock Films' Urgency page includes a trailer (mostly consisting of scenes we've seen before) as well as the following preview of the DVD cover: http://lucianacarrofans.wordpress.com/file...-dvd-jacket.jpgObviously, we would have loved to see her face on the DVD jacket, but a DVD cover featuring Luciana is pretty cool nonetheless. Please note that she's billed third, right after fellow genre veterans Brian Austin Green ("Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles") and Jeffrey Combs ("Star Trek", "The 4400"). Apart from short Passageway, this is Luciana's best billing to date.

Oh mannn...more obscure regions for me! I just bought Parasomnia on R2 because it's not out here yet! Thanks for the info! Here's hoping it actually does come out then. Don't want to burst any bubbles, but Lucci isn't in that much of the film, although she is in several key scenes.

Thanks for the heads up! It's not the first time a role of hers turned out smaller than we originally thought. Anyway, watching her in an unusual role and in unusual situations will be enough. --- Oh, and I just found a AICN news item from October 2003: | QUOTE | | * Jeremy Haft will direct the psychological thriller URGENCY, written by Barry Levy, for Regent Entertainment. |
Weird, huh? I had no idea this project was conceived such a long time ago. Barry Levy is probably the real name of Barry Louis, the writer actually credited for Urgency (Urgency is Louis' only project on IMDb). In case you haven't heard of Jeremy Haft: His latest movie was about "an unattractive girl, who is picked on by her peers, and who returns after her death as a sexy seductress to exact revenge".

Yeah, you guys will love it no matter what. I mean, Jeff's been in a few films for less than 2 minutes and I still watch and love them! Lucci looks very pretty in this film, too. That's one thing I remember well.

| QUOTE (FrostyJG @ Sep 25 2009, 08:10 AM) | | I have not the slightest idea why it's released in Australia and not in the US or Europe. Probably some company there was just a bit quicker in securing the rights and made it a higher priority on their schedule. |
This does happen. I have a boxset of a TV series Jeff was on that was ONLY released in Australia on DVD! Just weird. It never has been released in any other country.

Hey all, I crossposted the info about Urgency's release date in Australia to a Brian Austin Green fangroup and got some more info: For Urgency, it's more complicated than that. I've been chasing it for the past two weeks and ended up having to contact Peacock Films directly to know what the lowdown is.
VideoEzy (a movie rental chain here in Oz like Blockbusters) advertises it as coming in November but when I checked with a few stores nearby, none of them are actually ordering it in. So I won't be able to rent it. When I asked if they could order it in to buy (as most of them offer that as well for quite a bit of movies), again, I was told they wouldn't be doing that for that title either.
So that brought me to Peacock and the lady there was very helpful and contacted VideoEzy to see if she could change their mind about acquiring a copy at least. I just heard from her now and the answer is still no.
And what she's confirmed now is that while it will be out on the 18th November here, it's only for rental. It will only be released to buy on the 18th February 2010.So at least it's coming out, just a little later! I'm trying to find out from this person if/where we can buy the DVD online, so stay tuned.
