Wallpapers

The number of wonderful wallpapers is ever growing!
There are tools for windows which change the wallpaper after a certain time or every login or whatever. For WinXP, there is even a powertoy from Microsoft which does the job. So, every few hours another beautiful piece of fanart decorates my desktop.

Which tool? I think I'm gonna try that, too. I'm too lazy to change them manually but the artists and their pieces of art certainly deserve more of my attention.

On my Laptop with Vista, I use a tool called "Automatic Wallpaper Changer", but there are many similar tools and I don't know which one is the best.
An my normal computer with XP I use the "Desktop Slide Show" powertoy from Microsoft. Hmm, I noticed Microsoft discontinued this tool, a quick search on the web showed some people made it available for download, for example here. But I don't know how trustworthy that site is.

I like to know too.

The two tools I mentioned in my previous post are the only ones I use. And like I said, there are many other tools. Two of them were mentioned in a computer magazine I read, "John's Background Switcher" (which supposedly can use pictures from the net, for example on flickr) and "Desktop Effects". But I never tested these, and I don't know any download locations. You might need to do a Google search.

I'm afraid the calendar version of the first wallpaper is valid for just two more days, so you better spool up your desktop changer... Featuring two "Urgency" stills and a KIIS-FM photo, it's from the same art series as my current signature. "Every second counts"... well, yeah, but it's easy to waste a lot of them on losing yourself in those shots.




Compared with those (and with Cassie's other wallpapers), the second wallpaper-calendar combo is quite different stylistically. The wallpaper features an amazing Lucci shot done by gifted photographer Dennys Ilic (maker of the Rymer Tribute). What a graceful expression! (I'll post a little more about Ilic's shoot very soon.) Oh, and I like the background texture.




Last but not least, here's a funny Halloween-themed wallpaper that Cassie created back in October 2007. Among other things, it includes a fellow German fan artist's "Kat as a vampire" graphic that was featured in one or two icons back in the day. (Btw, I wonder if we can up with some Easter-themed fan art this year.)




Btw, all these files were added to the Fansite's wallpapers page this week (finally).

Now I hope some of you guys will find the time to do some new wallpapers yourselves. I look forward to upcoming creations.

This has got to be one of my (new) all time fav pics of Lucci. The calender is wonderful as well. It completes the deal.


Edit: The Halloween wallpaper is hilarious!

These wallpapers are great as usual, but the one using the photo taken by Dennys Ilic is wonderful. This particular one is indeed my favorite of his photos.

@Pedda: I'm glad you like that little tool. It's not perfect, but having one's desktop wallpaper cycle through all these Lucci-themed fan creations is quite nice.

I was gonna make myself a new sig and ended up making a new wallpaper,then I just made myself a sig out of the wallpaper

and like always made it to sizes

Earlier this month Cassie published two wonderful new wallpapers, each of which is available as both a clean wallpaper and a calendar sheet for June, July and August.



I know, those smiles will make it very hard to focus on what you actually wanted to do when you turned on your computer…

The blue wallpaper is based on pictures taken at Chiller Theater Expo, the brown one features photos from the second Battlestar live auction.

Yeah, Cassie used some really great photos of Luciana. Lucci is cute and sexy at the same time!

By the way, Cassie recently relaunched her massive online archive of fan art based on pictures of Jamie Bamber as well as other cast and crew from Battlestar Galactica and Law & Order: UK.

These are beautiful, looks like my dream holiday.
