Title: RSS feed for the Luciana Carro Fanboard
Description: Never miss new topics again

Inofficial RSS feed for the Luciana Carro FanboardNever miss new topics againAs the more regular visitors know, activity in these forums is a little uneven - sometimes there's posts in several topics in one day, and sometimes there's hardly any activity for several days.
One way to keep track of new posts and topics would be to have an RSS feed. Unfortunately, InvisionFree boards don't offer this feature. However, the independent
Coding Zone offers a really neat script to make it happen.
Here's the link to the LCFB feedThe name of the feed doesn't fit, but you can use it on your own iGoogle page or in any RSS feed reader. Enjoy!

Thanks! That's an excellent idea.  Especially since the email notifications didn't always work for me.
Btw, which RSS newsreader would you suggest? Because I plan on retiring my NewsFox Firefox plugin, it doesn't always work so well (doesn't always put the new items in the right order and sometimes declares something as new when checking the feed the next time despite the fact that I already read it).

I've never used a feed-reading app or plug-in. Instead, I rely on
iGoogle. Seeing as you are very much into protecting your privacy, this might not be something you'd like to use, though.

Actually, I use iGoogle. At least a bit. I'm not that much into safety, Google can know I like this fan board if they want. ;) But I read some science news feeds where sometimes they there are 15 or so new items in the morning, and for that, in addition to quite some other less active feeds, iGoogle isn't really sufficient, because it can only display 9 items for a given feed at max, and it would get crowded if I put all my feeds in there.
Anyway, I put this feed in iGoogle, since it's a rather important one! Thanks again for making this possible!

You're welcome :)
Btw, I embedded this feed in the new
homepage of the fansite. You can find the list below the "Fansite updates" where it replaces the old, static list of current topics.

Excellent! So now we have an automated means of displaying recent threads on the site, just like I wished a long time ago. It's like Christmas! :)
Edit: I just noticed, you even put a direct link to the feed on the site, so people can subscribe directly from there.

Okay, after the initial euphoria, I discovered a problem. Whenever my reader checks for updates, I get 15 unread. I can mark them as read as often as I will, the next time the same 15 threads will be marked as unread. This happens both in Newsfox and in Google reader, and I never experienced this with any of the other 20 feeds I read. Maybe there is something wrong with the time stamp, so the reader doesn't know it's not new? In Newsfox, it doesn't give a date at all, in Google reader I see the date and time the feed was checked, not the date of the last post in the thread.

I was afraid problems/shortcomings like this would arise sooner than later. :(
This is a very limited RSS service, and it's apparently not very useful for people like you and me, who check the board at least daily anyway, and who'd like to know whether there have been several new posts in a thread on a single day.
