Actually the theory put forth by south park is a valid theory, and one even myself thought could be true years ago before this episode....and I might even believe that is the case if Hitler hadn't without a doubt burned his own reichstag to take power, if Nero hadn't burned rome himself to blame it on the christians...both theories make sense but that has never been done is history, false flag attacks HAVE.

Why is everyone who asks you people for facts a "troll?"

Dylan, if the cook were lying about an event as big as 9/11, you're damned right I would.

Ah, yes, all the articles and congressional reports and Joint Chiefs of Staff recommendations and Senate Intelligence hearings and video evidence are all lies.

They're all liars. All of them.

Yes and all the demolitions experts, all of the first responders, all of the firefighters, all of the NYC cops, all of the family members who reported phone calls, all of the people who dug through the rubble, all of NIST, all of FEMA, eyewitnesses...

Thousands and thousands of people.. they are all lying or paid off as well right?

Dylan Avery, why not debate someone who knows the issues as well as you instead of those Popular Mechanics guys (who happened to clean your clock anyway)? I'll debate you anytime and anywhere, I would prefer it goes on your blog, obviously, but better yet, why not a tagteam debate where you and your main squeeze, Jason Bermas, can take on Mark Roberts and I?

Let's get this over with. You say you have unanswered questions? Let's answer them.

Feel free to email me if you have any desire to have a real intellectual debate (not a screaming match where Bermas calls everyone liars and shills) to prove your garbage.

you and mark roberts are punks who twist every single word and statement we make for the worst.

asta la vista, i have no tolerance for people like you.

i've got some rescue workers that would call you garbage to your face. how's that?

Why cant people just accept this as a funny cartoon who makes fun of everyone? This isnt a documentary guys, its a slapstick cartoon full of fart jokes..

Many themes of South Park involve questioning the standard lines fed to and accepted by Americans by marketing/advertising, peer pressure/society, whatever (ie: the "herd" mentality). Whatever the "real" cause of 9/11, the episode seemed to reinforce the idea that our goverment shouldn't be questioned. And if "outliers" like Trey and Matt are feeling that 9/11 conspiracy theroists are to be made fun of, what does that say about the future of this country. Frankly it's a little scary.

I was listening to a BBC broadcast a few weeks ago about "9/11 conspiracy theorists" (can't remember if they specifically mentioned loose change), and the host wondered "why some Americans are constantly questoning their government." Given the history our government officials have had (examples abound), and continue to have, of lying to the public, why would any rational, thinking person not question their government?

And maybe that's the answer. Many of us aren't really using our little grey cells at all. We're sitting in front of the tele, allowing it to "think for us." To come up with both the questions and answers.

I love South Park for its irreverant humor. But in some ways, the episode seemed kind of hypocritical. Or perhaps it represents a change in "values" of the authors? Or that they're just running out of material? After all, when you've been on the air for 8(?) seasons, can we imagine that it would it be difficult to come up with fresh ideas? A slim possibility is that the episode was written to draw attention to some of the questions raised in Loose Change. It might actually register in some viewers' brains that, yes, many of the explanations provided by our gov't defy logic and reason. I somehow doubt this to be the case however, because the overall slant seemed fairly negative to me.

I don't find the act of making fun of a group of people that are "thinking outside of the box," when said group is using logic, science, and reason to support their arguments, to be very humorous. It seems childish and stupid. Yes, Southpark is usually childish and silly, and that is the point of the show, but when the joke involves the deaths of thousands of people, I fail to see the humor in it.

Perhaps the next show could focus on the "Holocaust conspiracy."

PS - not sure if there is already a thread about Bob Woodward's (for you younger kids, see: Watergate Scandal and All The President's Men), but he gives evidence in the book that was not made available to the 9/11 Commission by gov't officials. Recent interviews with members of the commission have indicated that they were "alarmed" that the officials kept information from them. Yeah, I'm really surprised by such a betrayal of the public's confidence and trust. It's never happened before in this or any other country.

9/11 Panel Members Weren't Told of Meeting
WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 — Members of the Sept. 11 commission said today that they were alarmed that they were told nothing about a White House meeting in July 2001 at which George J. Tenet, then the director of central intelligence, is reported to have warned Condoleezza Rice, then the national security adviser, about an imminent Al Qaeda attack and failed to persuade her to take action.

The third item down on the list is pretty interesting, describing a presidential aide's proposal for destruction of private property (albeit on a much smaller scale).
