Title: Getting Supporters
Description: One Method to get new supporters

dpopp - September 27, 2006 03:25 PM (GMT)
I feel that is very important to get this information out about September 11, and i feel that "older" people are not grasping the idea that the goverment is able to lie to the whole world. One group that does understand the power of the government is young, open-minded, college students. It would be a very good idea to start having speakers with the LooseChange video to show at colleges all over the United States. There needs to be a way to share this information better than just posting videos online and having silent protests. To find out what really happened on 9/11 we need as much support as we can possibly get. We NEED to start talking to young minds and get them to help the fight agaisnt the government. We can't let them get away with what happened that day.

Welcome to the forum dpopp.

If you'll look around the forum, you'll find that there are "older" people here. I'm 52 and a former life long Republican. I'm not the oldest guy here either. There are many here in their 30's, 40's, 50's and even their 60's. I'm not sure what your definition of "older" is. But there are many that have woken up and are spreading the truth of 9/11 and govt. corruption. I've found younger people harder to convince.

As to activism, there are many here that are doing that. People are sponsoring screenings of Loose Change and other 9/11 documentaries, burning and handing out copies of Loose Change and other 9/11 documentaries, and sponsoring 9/11 meetup groups. Yes, more needs to be done. But don't think that everyone here is just posting on this forum and sponsoring silent protests. I've got a couple of college kids in my 9/11 meetup group who are handing out DVD's of LC at the university here. We're getting ready for a big distribution event in October. And there are many here who have handed out hundreds to thousands of copies of LC. Read some of the threads in this forum. I think you'll see that there is a lot of activism going on.

Welcome aboard DPopp. I happen to find it hardest to convince ANY American person. We've generally become so completely dumbed-down that even the 9/11 event itself didn't wake many up from their consumer-driven trance. They were told to go back to sleep and continue shopping and that's precisely what they continue to do now.
Even Anarchists from Infoshop.org refuse to entertain what they consisder "conspiracy theories harmful to real activist causes". I'd love to punch them in the face, but that wouldn't solve anything other than giving me some short-term satisfaction.
How do we wake up the remaining morons of America?

I understand that there are going to be those supporters that are much older in their 40s and 50s, but those people are usually the ones that are educated with college degrees. I have been talking to as many people as i can in my town, which are unfortionitly middle class citizens with little college experience, and they dont seem to grasp the facts or evidence about what happened. I do understand what you mean about getting college students to support the cause because they are eager to get out of their parents house and go party, rather than care about thier future. It is a must though to get them to help. College students are the future for this country and it is up to them to get the change in this government that i feel needs to be done. I am not an expert in this field or topic, but i feel that i must get involved because i know the future of this country is going to be scary. The more and more i read about other countries, the more and more i feel the hatred towards us, and i don't want to be attacked in my sleep by some country because of the stupid actions of my government.

I like the analogy of the government putting the American people back to sleep with shopping. That is very true and i understand the problem with getting them to wake up. In a way i feel that they are a lost cause and will never care about the government nor make the effort to help the change. Getting speakers to colleges with Political Science majors should be the first people that need to be reached. They are the ones that can get into the politics of the goverment. That is huge to find out who is responsible and to get the government changed. We will never be able to go anywhere if we dont have people inside the government. Like i said before, i am not an expert, so im not sure if there is people in the government trying to find out what really happened, but we need people in the cracks of their system to beat them.

My bad if some of my comments sound stupid or have been mentioned by other people. I don't always have the extra time to read all the comments posted, even though i would love to. But i do know that i want to be involved in the change of this country and i will make time for that. If you could help me be informed with important information with whats going on i would be very appreitiated. Thank you for your relplies.

One question... Whats going to happen when there is enough supporteres who are angry with the government to make a big revolt, and the rest of the world gets tired of the United States trying to be the "parent figures"? "Kids" almost always rebell against parents. What's going to happen when a "kid" with nuculer weapons rebells?

Some of us "older" folks have woken up. I'm 65. Unfortunately, it took me four years after 9/11 to see the truth. It's my kids that haven't grasped the idea yet. I'm greatly encouraged by all the young people who are getting involved in this. Keep up the good work!
