Hi my name is Joel, I'm 16 and a junior in high school. last Friday i asked my history teacher if we could watch Loose Change in class on Monday, (today), and he said no because theres no proof that this is real. does anyone know how i can do this?

It is silly of him to say this considering that he takes for granted that every thing he teaches you about history from historical books is true when it is common knowledge that history is written by the winners and winners don't necessarily tell the truth do they? You could take a completely post-modernistic view of the situation and argue that nothing he teaches you can be proved therefore should be dismissed. I can guarantee that half of the sources he uses to run his classes have contradicting texts written around the same time. Ask him to prove something he mentions in your next lesson or maybe ask if you can watch Terror Storm instead. There are a lot of undeniable Historical truths in that and some of them contradict common knowledge, proof that not every thing he teaches you can be 100% fact.

Sometimes its better just to show it during lunch-time or something of that sort and encourage people to come and watch it. You will come to realize there are many people who won't even consider viewing the first 5 minutes of it, this just shows how narrowminded so many people can be.

I would suggest trying to convince a teacher to show it as part of a study of propaganda, because it is surely at least among the best viral videos ever distributed. The authors' skill at evicting mood and use of persuasive techniques in media is superb. Just as an example, the montage of quotes talking about "explosions" and "booms" is carefully crafted into a startling and chilling scene where the only conclusion you can reach is that bombs must have been involved, when of course any building on fire and full of transformers, steam pipes, generators, etc. etc. is going to have explosions going off all the time. It is brilliant propaganda because they so cleverly lead you to their conclusion, instead of (always) shoving it down your throat.

There's no way a video can be shown as historically factual, however, when it has such simple mistakes as what type of plane crashed into the Empire State Building, what sort of engines the plane that they argue perhaps never even hit the Pentagon was equipped with, and which cites a grand total of 0 real experts in a relevant field of specialty. It would be like citing Wikipedia on a Ph. D thesis.

I suppose it would be more appropriate then to study something like the Commission Report which was put together by "experts" yet lacks any real scientific evidence and is inconsistent to the point that not only can most real experts in the various fields can pull it to pieces but so can many people in the general public. Many of the topics covered in Loose Change have been agreed upon and taken into much more depth by highly skilled and experienced experts and professors, it just took the LC guys to put it into a format for the average Joe to watch and digest.

Read up on Scholars for 9/11 Truth, Watch the Alex Jones production that was shown on C-Span and maybe go through some of the articles written by people with credentials at the Scholars for 9/11 Truth website.

Also it would be a good idea to watch "Confronting the Evidence" on Google Videos, the full 2 hour or so conference that went ahead. It wasn't all MIHOP (although there is some) but it goes into detail about the lies that were spread by the media and government officials at the time of the attack.

Just make a DVD copy of Loose Change and give it to everyone in your history class. Staples recently had blank Memorex DVDs on sale for 25 cents each and they may still be on sale. The best time to give it to them may be on a Friday so that they'll have plenty of free time to watch it.

There are some documentaries about the Federal Reserve for example, that ARE verifiably factual, in fact there's nothing secret about the Fed and it's beginnings (and the 200 year history of International bankers trying to get ahold of America's wealth) ...

That is also very important to understanding the big picture.

I worked in the trade center off and on from 1980 till 2001. I'm a NYC and NJ journeyman union carpenter. I hold books in both states. I lost fellow carpenters on 9/11. I knew those towers like the back of my hand. There was no freakin way demolitions were placed in those buildings. For anyone to say so is a liar and knows ZERO about the structures. If you have any honor at all, you should tell the kids the truth and stop trying to brainwash them.

The fact is that many of the "debunking" papers that people post do not stand up to much and arguments put forward by Scholars For 9/11 Truth are never covered (I wonder why?). They generally focus on things that many of us don't believe any way and when they do come up with good arguments they do not back up the official Commission Report which is what many of us have a problem with, especially the families of the victims who are searching for truth and there are a hell of a lot of them.

We are not clinically insane, that is a ridiculous claim to make. We are all normal people with families, friends, jobs and lives. Have you not seen any photos of the 9/11 Truth protests, there are a wide range of people there standing up for this cause, of all ages, colours and religions. This isn't just American bashing; this is us trying to get justice for something that shouldn't have been case closed that quickly. Of course there would have been all this commotion if it happened in the Clinton administration, I don't think it helped that bush took you into a war without a cause but there would have still definitely been this movement. You have to remember that this isn't the first time something like this has happened and there has always been people pressing for truth about events like this, the reason why this is such a big movement that are starting to get results is because of the Internet and the fact that many people from all over the world that share interests and views can discuss things like this and organise events easier.

The Internet should change how history in the future is viewed as every one is able to have a say and every one else can read it. It's a wonderful thing that finally it is not just the winners that are writing it down in books for historians of the future to read.

I don't think I would show Loose Change in my class if I was a teacher, it's just asking to get fired. But on the other hand I would have a lot of good conversations with my students who believed it, and recomment books and videos they should watch.

Introducing conspiracy theories isn't what history class is for, history is for things that happened. It would be like teaching that 2+2=5 in math class.

If you take a current events class, that might be more appropriate, I have reccomended people watch Loose Change, just because, while I don't believe a word it says, it's best to inform yourself of all angles, though I also suggest watching "Screw Loose Change," by Mark Iradian.

Personally, I'm doing my science fair project this year on Conspiracy theories, because the majority of theories are an argument of science.

On SLC they keep a lot of information out. If you watch the two films side by side, you will see that. At first SLC seems like it would be realistic to our questions but a lot of scenes that, presumably, they can't explain, are left out. Like the fact that Condoleezza Rice called the governor, and a number of other things. They instead take big black blocks and put words on them, trying to put words on long enough to pass the scene. Its funny how all the recent terrorist attacks have been in countries that have been or still are in IRAQ and Afghanistan. Every day Australia government is changing its laws so we are allowed less freedoms and are being watched by big brother due to 9/11. This just isnt an American issue, the events of 9/11 has changed the world for ever and not in a good way. Now terrorism is seen as biggest threat to human life and billions of dollars are being spent on ways to secure that you have less freedoms and less rights. But I still it watched expecting laugh, but after I came out I felt frightened and angry. From there I have been reading things none stop on the subject of 9/11. The more I read the more I know that government was involved. Not by just watching loose change, that was a just eye opener. How can you call a general group of people who BELIEVE that 9/11 was staged anti-american? Just thinking that a horrible tragedy that hurt our country was organized by the government is in no way expressing hate for America. If anything, I believe the expressed trait is partriotism. Furthermore, saying the goal of trying to express to the student the view of what they believed happened is brainwashing, makes you look like a complete hipocrit. If they are brainwashing, then so are you and your beliefs. Are you not trying to convey what you believed happened by contradicting what they believed happened? While I probably sound completely against Bush, at this point, I'm still on the fence about the subject. loosechange911.com displays a good documentary that I don't feel to be very far from the truth. It definately was a eye-opener. I will wait and see how it plays out.
