1. No power-playing, god-moding, or what ever else it's called nowadays. Your character has to have some weaknesses.

2. All posts should be in third-person past with a few, minor exceptions.

3. Be creative; don't look at someone else's character and make your character off of their character. Originality and good character development are valued here.

4. Use the correct form and post in the correct area. (Don't spam on the RP threads, we have an OOC section for that)

5. Don't flame someone's board just because you don't like it.

6. Read the posts! Or, ask for a short summary. Don't just post random things that ruin a good role play.

7. Do not argue with an administrator. If you really, really must settle an issue with them, talk to them through PM's about it, not in the general forum.

8. No pressuring people to post. If they are having a bad day (writer's block, too angry to post well, upset, that kind of thing), you do not want the quality of their post to go go down just so you can reply. NOW, if they've been stalling for weeks at a time, it's okay to politely remind them to post.

9. Posts that are highly questionable for a 10 – 15 year old to be reading (I don't mean concerning gore) should be shipped over to the PM's, or skimmed around in an appropriate manner. Not everyone likes to read a detailed post on certain things, kthxbai.

10. You must post IC every month at least, unless otherwise stated that you cannot.

11. Because it is very important and isn't emphasized enough PLEASE be respectful to everybody.

12. This is a literate role play site, and if you don't know what that means, you probably aren't fit to be here. No |337 $p34k when posting in character, thank-yah-very-much.

13. This ties in with rule number 12. For the love of Lady Nova, Evil Enchantress and Owner of Your Soul, PLEASE do NOT use asterisks (*Nova pwned your face* should read more like “Nova sauntered over to you and roundhouse kicked in your face, Chuck Norris-style.”) when posting in character. It's not literate. If you can't go without the pretty stars, please reconsider where you are.

14. Proper capitalization and punctuation. Spelling and some grammar issues can be forgiven because English can be very confusing with its rules, but proper capitalization and punctuation is a must!

Tip:
I'm not saying anyone is bad, I'm just telling you what I try to do.
600-700 characters is roughly half of the reply box. A little more or less. You might try to make that range. I said TRY, not MAKE IT EVERY SINGLE TIME NO MATTER WHAT. It's just a little idea about how long you might want a post to be. Longer that that is wonderful! I'm not limiting you, I'm just giving you some numbers to work with.

Also, if you aim for the whole box, it tends to make your posts longer just because. smile.gif
