...in other news, the Act I finale of Spamalot bears an awful lot of resemblance to Les Mis too! Gee, I wonder if they could've been copying.

Who said copying? I was only referring to the red and black flag waving around, the blonde leader kid, the military marching, the French title, the occurance of two of the blonde kid in one frame (like in the TAC, when the singer is standing in front of the screen), and the fact that they're singing about Terrence and Phillip's impending execution (There's been speculation that they are named after Mann and Quast, respectively). If you really want to compare it to something other than Les Miserables, I'd say West Side Story for the constant references to "Tomorrow Night".

No need for snippiness, I just thought it would put a smile on some people's faces.

Of course it resembles Les Mis. Both La Resistance and the Act I finale of Spamalot are deliberate parodies of ODM.

I apologize, I must've misinterpreted this. I thought it sounded like you were sarcastically implying that there wasn't much similarity between the two.

I am aware that it is a direct parody, my original post just had the link to the video. I assumed that everyone would've picked up on it.

Feel free to post a video of the Act 1 finale of Spamalot in this thread, too!

Regardless, dude (in reference to Marianne), your response is pretty rude. Sure, it's obvious that it's a parody of One Day More after you've viewed it, but come on, not everyone has. Hell, I don't really watch South Park and I had no idea this video existed. What's your bone to pick with Astor?

The internet is a pretty sad place; I've run into enough people who didn't get that it was a parody that my expectations were pretty low. Sorry.

Not a problem! How about making this thread home of film parodies of/references to Les Mis? I'm sure I could track down George from Seinfeld singing Master of the House somewhere...

EDIT: No, nevermind that. I found something far more amusing.

Some people have lots of imagination, indeed.

Eh, it's cool. There are plenty of idiots out there. ;-) Just thought that was a bit of a jump to conclusions. I hold no ill will.

Oh my...that second video...was....hilarious...in a horrible way.

I was laughing so hard when...Cosette? hit him with the briefcase thing.

Briefcase? I could've sworn it was a bucket... like for a well... which would've added an extra layer of comedy... But then, I only watched it twice, and that was yesterday, so I can't remember.

Its like...luggage or something. If it is a bucket...that's way funnier.
