Legends of Cyrodiil
Hello, I am Lirian, head Administrator for Legends of Cyrodiil. I would like to welcome you. I strongly suggest joining and roleplaying on this forum. We have many experienced roleplayers who are easy to get along with; most of them have a decent sense of humor too. I understand that our board is still small, however, Legends of Cyrodiil is surprisingly active considering that it is a forum based off of the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. So, if you like to roleplay, then this is the place for you. If you like Oblivion this is the place for you!

Anvil Anvil is a coastal city located on the western edge of Cyrodiil, along the Abecean Sea. Anvil is one of the only two port towns in Cyrodiil with direct access to open sea, and is strategically close to the Illiac Bay and Summerset Isles. As such, it has built up a very active trade industry (legal and otherwise), and much of the town caters directly to sailors. Also, many Nords inhabit Anvil, because according to Sten the Ugly they are "sick of freezing their asses off in Skyrim."

Wilderness The Gold Coast is the western-most region of Cyrodiil. It lies on the Abecean Sea and stretches from Valenwood in the south to Hammerfell in the north.
The Gold Coast contains a series of irregular hills in the east, on the border of the West Weald. It begins a generally downward slope to the west and flattens out as it approaches the sea. The Gold Coast is lightly dotted with evergreen trees. The vegetation is sparser than the rainy southern coast of Cyrodiil, and the waving grasses are gold rather than green.
The Brena and the Strid Rivers, respectively, mark the northern and southern borders of the region. The Gold Road winds through the south of the region, around the base of Kvatch's plateau, and then crests a hill overlooking Anvil.

Wilderness The Colovian Highlands are Cyrodiil’s second floor. They lie in the far northwest of the country, overlooking the West Weald and the Imperial Forest. They serve as the rugged frontier between Cyrodiil and Hammerfell.
The Highlands are the desolate western foothills of the Jerall Mountains. North-south travel is often impossible due to the sheer sides of the Highlands. The foliage and color is similar to the Gold Coast, with evergreen trees, ferns, and yellow-green grasses between islands of gray rock. The Highlands are among the sparser regions in the country, both in terms of vegetation and dungeons. There are at least two small lakes; one has a waterfall and the other a small dock with a canoe.
The city of Chorrol is nestled in the lower foothills of the Highlands, though it lies within the Great Forest. The Black Road runs past Chorrol and is the only road that broaches the region. Access to most of the ruins and other points of interest is usually by foot on trails or through the thick grass and shrubs of the region.

Skingrad Skingrad is a large city located southwest of Imperial City on the Gold Road. It isn't a particularly colourful city, as the architecture is rather dull because of the gray colour palette. The city is divided into 2 sections, North and South. It is seperated by a huge trench running through the city.

Wilderness The West Weald is a sunny, lightly forested region occupying a crescent-shaped arc southwest of the Imperial City, and acting as the northern border for the countries of Elsweyr and Valenwood. This verdant region is notable for its wide-open and purple-flowered meadows, distinctive red maple trees, and rich agriculture.
The West Weald is generally level with good visibility. There is a good deal of gray bedrock showing through. Plants tend to grow near these rocks. Farther south, the landscape unfolds into gently rolling hills, then across the Gold Road it dips into a steep-sided valley. An Isolated House marks the valley floor’s east side and the Priory of the Nine marks its westernmost. There is a hill to the southwest of Nenyond Twyll. If you can climb to the top of it, you will have an unmatched view of the forest surrounding you.

Bruma Bruma is the northern-most city in the province of Cyrodiil, located in the Jerall Mountains along the border with Skyrim. Bruma's northerly latitude, combined with its high altitude, leads to a much different climate than other populated areas of the province. The city is perpetually covered in snow, with clear, sunny days being the exception, rather than the norm. The city, and its people, have adapted to the climate with a much simpler, hardier way of life.

Wilderness The Jerall Mountains are the highest mountains in the Province of Cyrodiil, and straddle most of the northern border. The province of Skyrim lies on other side of the range and in many ways this is Nord territory.
Perhaps the most rugged region in Cyrodiil, the Mountains are snow-covered and there is little vegetation on the ground. They are very steep and travel is mostly by path only, especially near the border with the Highlands. One path leads from a clearing west of Sancre Tor, climbs across the back of the ridge to Hermaeus Mora's Shrine, then switchbacks down the south side to Echo Cave. Farther east, the mountains are more temperate, and a valley runs from Applewatch to Bruma. Another path runs north from the Orange Road and branches out to Bruma and Applewatch.
The Valus Mountains run along the border of eastern and northeastern Cyrodiil, where they separate the Imperial Province and Morrowind.
The Valus Mountains are a particularly rugged section of the province. The weather is often snowy and visibility is poor. The region is lightly forested with evergreen trees, and hardscrabble brown grass grows year-round. As the range slopes south, however, it grows mild, and green grasses and deciduous trees can be found in the foothills leading to the Nibenay Basin.
Look for wide fields of scattered gray boulders. They are both indicative of the region's geology and excellent tactical cover.
The region's remoteness lends to its lawlessness, and Camonna Tong Thugs can be found in high camps of the Mountains. The region is also one of the few in Cyrodiil with neither official road nor river.

Chorrol Chorrol sits at the base of the Colovian Highlands in northwestern Cyrodiil. It is a well-mainted town with clean streets and a high standard of living. Chorrol's symbol is the Great Oak.

Wilderness The Great Forest is the dense woodland that encircles the Imperial City to its west, north, and south. The Forest serves as a buffer between Colovia and the Empire's capitol city.
The Great Forest is thick with white-barked aspens, redwoods, and various other evergreen and broad-leaf trees. Groundcover is ferns, bushes, and uneven thatches of dark green grass. Though the weather in the forest is generally mild, the thick matte of trees makes visibility poor.
The larger boulders in the Forest are moss-covered and banded by black horizontal lines, suggesting layering and that the rocks are of sedimentary origin. The Forest consists of gently rolling hills that steepen in the east as the region gives way to the Heartlands and the Imperial City. North the land rises steeply to the Orange Road. The leaves here turn to fall colors. South, the Forest extends nearly to Bravil.
While there are no significant bodies of water, nearly every road in Cyrodiil crosses the forest: the Red Ring, Orange, Gold, Silver, Black, and Green.

Imperial City The Imperial City is the capital of Cyrodiil. It is located on a large island at the center of Lake Rumare, which is the largest body of water in Cyrodiil. The city is accessible by foot or mount by crossing the western bridge off of Red Ring Road.
White Gold Tower, the centerpiece of the city, is visible from much of the province.

Wilderness The Heartlands are a roughly crescent-shaped region, the bulk of which is east and northeast of the Imperial City. The City Isle and the Waterfront are cradled by this region and it nearly stretches all the way around them. It butts into the Great Forest near Fort Homestead.
The region is one of the more mild and pastoral in the country. Thick waving meadows grow on gently rolling hills, and a few scattered stands of broad leaf trees can be found clustered around gray stone outcroppings.
All of the Cyrodiil's roads (with the exception of the Orange) meet in the Heartlands, joining the Red Ring Road like spokes in a wheel. Clockwise from the north, they are the Silver, Blue, Yellow, Green, Gold, and Black.

Bravil Bravil is located in southern Cyrodiil on a small peninsula at the mouth of the Larius River as it empties into Niben Bay. From the look of the buildings and its architecture, it appears that Bravil's populace is one of the less wealthy of Cyrodiil.

Wilderness The Nibenay Basin is perhaps the largest region in all of Cyrodiil, stretching from Cheydinhal to the Panther River, from the foothills of the snowy Jerall Mountains to the swamps of Blackwood. The region also borders The Heartlands and The Nibenay Valley to the west and the Valus Mountains and Black Marsh to the east.
The Basin is largely wilderness, with dense forests of conifers and deciduous trees, jutting moss-covered rocks, and numerous lakes and rivers. It is also marked by steep, but passable, hills. In terms of flora and topography, the Basin is nearly indistinguishable from the Nibenay Valley.
A section of the Yellow Road passes through the Basin, as does the half of the Blue Road that leads into the Basin's only city, Cheydinhal. The Basin is home to Lake Poppad, Lake Canulus, the Reed River, and portions of the Corbolo River, Panther River, and Silverfish Rivers, as well as several smaller unnamed lakes.

Cheydinhal Cheydinhal is the city closest to Morrowind, near the Velothi mountains. Being so close to Morrowind has made Cheydinhal heavily Dark Elf-influenced. To the north is Lake Arrius and to the south and southeast is the Reed River and Lake Poppad, respectively. Cheydinhal is a city on a lake at the feet of the mountains.

Leyawiin Leyawiin is the southernmost city of Cyrodiil. It's at the southern mouth of the Lower Niben River, where the river empties into Topal Bay, though the cities design means that no ship can realisticly travel the Niben, this could be an accidental mistake.

Wilderness Blackwood is the great southern swamp that drains the lower Niben River out to Topal Bay. The swamp borders Khajiit Elsweyr on the east and Argonian Black Marsh on the west.
Though hilly in the west and south-east, Blackwood is primarily a flat swamp. The region is particularly lush with violet-flowered bushes, white oak, and bald cypress tress. Visibility is often poor due to fog, mist, and heavy rains.
Both the Yellow and the Green Road pass through Blackwood, one on either side of the Niben. Despite the region's low altitude and numerous standing pools of water, the only river is the Panther, which marks Blackwood's northern border with the Nibenay Valley and Basin.
