Howdy Gang!
I finally finished cleaning out my shed today. I decided to get the job done before anymore snow flies.
And Looky at what I found!!!

It's an old AJAX brand reel mower. I thought that this mower went away years ago, as I haven't seen it in almost 40 years.

The letter ( F ) appears just above the stamped in AJAX Ball Bearing. All if the lettering being pressed into the wood. Down towards the easy end (Reel End), are the manufacture and city of the machine. By the way. The "Hard End" was the end you hung on to while pushing on a hot summer day!

What color is that on the back side of the reel's blades? Looks sort of like a silvery metalic, blueish green color.

I found that the single castings of the wheels have an orange center with that same funny silver blue/green color on the "rim" part. What would be the chance that the rim is indeed a separate color?

The last photo is hard to see, as I was to close. But it is a shot of one of the matched pair of hooks, from which the clippings bag was attached. About half way up the handle is a plain old cup hook for the other end.
If you have any information on one of these units, let me know.
I also will be needing a new roller for the back end of the unit. What sort of wood would be correct for this use?
Oh Yeah!
It still cuts really, really well!!
Take Care.
