what I have done before:

1. set the distance gap in the cones so the TRAVEL is the same in the sticks- you can have however much gap you want, but it needs to be the same if you want any hope of both sticks working in a similar fashion. I have very little gap so there isn't a lot of dead play in the sticks plus it's a lot easier to work with in terms of adjusting.
2. set the control linkages so the sticks are side by side when it's in neutral (you can tell if you're in neutral if you can roll the mower easily. If your cone gap is small then this is a lot easier to get right.
3. PRAY you got it close enough the first time. If not, then start making small adjustments.

It may not be possible to get it to run in a straight line with both sticks all the way forward or backward without replacing all the wearing parts. At some point the operator will have to make adjustments to how he's driving. That's what I've found after working on 2 of them anyway.

I checked the Dixon web site and found the manual section left a lot to be desired. I am sure that Bob checked that also. I went through every cone drive manual and not one of them gave an adjustment proceedure. sad.gif

Something I noticed yesterday...even The "hot chicks" in the fancy golf course communities don't look all that "hot" mowing the lawn......butt ( misspelling intended) do look good pulling weeds.tongue.gif

Hey Bob, does that fall under the classification of "Does this mower make my butt look big?" 12.gif

I probably over paid then. I traded a Kubota T1400 and two Gravely two wheelers for it.
But since I can seem to even come close to being able to afford any other ZTR around here..... sad.gif
