King Uther
The Tyrant King of Camelot - NPC. YOU CAN NOT APPLY FOR HIM.
RECENT: Uther Pendragon is the King of Camelot and the father of Arthur Pendragon and Morgana. He is eventually dethroned by Morgana, who crowns herself Queen of Camelot, but she is soon defeated by Merlin, Arthur and his Knights. Afterwards, Uther was left in an incapacitated state of melancholia and depression, leaving his son, Arthur poised to ascend the throne, though perhaps temporarily.
King Uther has rules Camelot for the past 20 years, after "winning" the land as a knight. He was, and still is, a great swordsman, easily defeating all his opponents in tournaments (with the exception of his son Arthur and the wizard Gilli). He took a wife, Queen Ygraine, but she was unable to bare children. Out of desperation, Uther asked for the help of Nimheuh. His son Arthur was born, however, the magic that allowed him to be born, sacrificed the life of Ygaine. The queen died shortly after Arthur's birth. Sorrow and hatred overtook Uther, and he forbid any further magic in his lands.
Uther began his ban on magic with the Great Purge. During this time, many of those with, or suspected of magic, were killed. Some were burned, others drown or hung, including children. King Uther became a tyrant, and created many enemies among those with magic. Although he is merciless in his enforcement of his man on magic, he did show some guilt for his ordered execution of suspected magic bearing children. Many young wizards now grow bitter towards Uther, after having been forced to hide who they are from the world.
Prince Arthur
The Prophesied Prince of Camelot
Arthur is the son and first heir to Uther's crown. He often does not agree with his father's laws and has tried to challenge his numerous times, including his relationship with Guinevere, the lady-in-waiting to Morgana, and the knighting of men lacking noble birth such as Elyan and Lancelot. Uther is also not afraid to expect far more than most fathers would expect of their sons, demanding perfection in his journey to becoming king. Although he wishes to change the laws set down by his father, he shares the same hate for magic, especially after being tricked by Morgause to challenge his father in a battle to the death after learning about the magic that killed his mother. But magic is not far from him. His half-sister, Morgana, wields magic, as does his servant Merlin, though he knows of neither.
Like his father, Arthur is deeply distraught over the betrayal of Morgana, and also shocked in learning about her blood relation to him. He is not so blinded by Morgana, though, as is their father Uther Pendragon.
Arthur is also the prophecised king of Camelot, expected to bring peace back to the lands and release the ban on magic. This is the reason Merlin, a young warlock, has been protecting him in all his quests. Although the two have many personality differences, they have become good friends over the years, despite Arthur's ignorence of Merlin�s power. Because of his lack of understanding of Merlin, Arthur, and others, often underestimates Merlin, completely ignoring his advice, sometimes leading for more trouble for Arthur.
The people of Camelot, although they truly believe Arthur to be a just and noble prince, label him as spoiled and bullying. Like his father, he is brave, but also narcissistic. Despite his personality shortcomings, Arthur Pendragon is a great leader and acquires loyalty of many rather easily.
Morgana
The Traitorous Lady of Camelot
Morgana Pendragon is the recently exposed half-sister to Arthur and the illegitimate daughter of King Uther. Working with her half-sister, Morgause, Morgana took the crown from Uther in the takeover of Camelot using Morgause's immortal army created using the Cup of Life. Although the army was destroyed by Merlin during a last stand against Morgause by Arthur, Gaius, and the Knights of the Roundtable, it revealed Morgana's deep hatred for her father and her determination to kill Uther and take the thrown. Although the young witch revealed her feelings to Uther, during his imprisonment she did not reveal the source of her hatred; Uther's own hatred for magic. She instead left Uther guessing, probably resulting in his belief that she grew bitter from him denying her birthright.
Morgana has lived the role of Uther's ward, and, in the absence of a Queen, the Lady of Camelot. Like Arthur, Morgana has not feared challenging Uther. The king's deep love, and guilt, for Morgana has resulted in his complete oblivion to Morgana's true nature.
After learning of her magical powers, including the ability to see into the future, Morgana chose to join the side of her sister Morgause. For a long time she played a traitor's role, attempting to thwart Uther's kingdom from within. She lived with Morgause for a year, and returned under the guise of a prisoner and victim. Uther, having searched for her for the entire year, took her back. She continued her part as the mole. During her short reign as Queen of Camelot, she showed her true cruel personality, even ordering the murder of villiagers infront of the Knights of Camelot hoping to force them into submission. After her and Morgause's defeat, she escaped using magic, bringing the injured Morgause to safety.

Sir Elyan
The Unlucky Son of a Blacksmith
Sir Elyan is the son of the late blacksmith, Tom, and the brother of Guinevere. After leaving his family for four years, he is reunited with his sister when he is kidnapped by King Cendred. Cendred hoped to use Elyan as leverage for Gwen to betray Prince Arthur. Just as planned, Arthur secretly came to rescue Elyan, driven by his love for Guinevere, just as Morgana informed King Cendred and Morgause that he would.
Following their escape from Morgause and King Cendred, Elyan returned to Camelot to reopen the forge left by his father when King Uther has him executed under suspicion of practicing magic. He lived with his sister, whom had worried about in his absence. Gwen described her brother as someone who was always in the wrong place at the wrong time, the reason Elyan moved from place to place.
During the attack by Morgause's immortal army, Elyan remained in Camelot and joined Arthur in his resistance. During the first week, he lived in the woods along with Arthur, Merlin, Gwaine, and Gaius and joined then in the castle of the old kings when meeting up with Lancelot, Guinevere, Percival, and Sir Leon. Here, along with Lancelot, Percival, and Gwaine, Arthur knighted Elyan, joining the Knights of the Round Table.
Sir Gwaine
Strength to the Fisher King
Gwaine was born to a knight and his wife. His father died fighting for Caerleon, and when his mother went to plead help from the king he refused to help, leaving Gwaine's family impoverished. All Gwaine has left of his family heritage was a gold ring and a dragon scale necklace with his family crest hidden on it. Gwaine's opinion of the nobility was forever altered: he thought all nobles were blinded by power and greed. He eventually left home and began living a vagabond lifestyle, travelling the world using only his sword.
Gwaine became friends with Merlin and Arthur following a fight in a tavern. Merlin and Arthur had entered the tavern after a hunt, much to Merlin's disapproval. The two, provoked by Arthur, began a fight against a group of men forcing the tavern's owner to pay a portion of all profit to them. Gwaine, seeking the thrill of battle as he explained it later, joined them in the fight. Arthur ordered him to be well taken care of after Gwaine was injured in the fighting.
Although Gwaine at first showed the same distaste for Arthur as he did for all of nobility, he soon changed his mind with the help of Merlin. Gwaine saved Arthur from being killed during the melee, but was continued banished by Uther after attacking nobility in order to protect Merlin. When searching for Arthur on his quest to the Fisher King's castle, Merlin sought out Gwaine's help. Gwaine also joined the two in their resistance to Morgana. Arthur knighted Gwaine along with the others at the Roundtable.
Sir Lancelot
Keeper of a Warlock's Secret
Lancelot first met Merlin when he saved him from a Griffin and Merlin took him back to Camelot. When it was revealed only noblemen can join the Knights of Camelot, Merlin used his magic to create a seal of nobility. Merlin asks Gwen to provide clothes and armour so Lancelot looked like he was a nobleman. Lancelot became attracted to Gwen as soon as he met her and insisted on calling her 'My Lady' despite her telling him she wasn't a noble so shouldn't be addressed that way. He asked Merlin what kind of relationship he has with Gwen and seemed pleased when Merlin said they were just friends. He later told Arthur that he thought she was beautiful. Lancelot tried out for the knights and, although at first Arthur is unimpressed, he quickly identified that Lancelot has potential and accepted him into the knights of Camelot.
Lancelot was soon thrown into jail after Geoffrey of Monmouth revealed that his seal of nobility was indeed a fake. Lancelot fought the griffin after Arthur had him banished from Camelot versus executed. Merlin enchanted his lance, resulting in the death of the griffin and Lancelot learning of his magic. Lancelot swore to keep Merlin's secret from Arthur and left in accordance to his banishment.
In love with Gwen just as Arthur, Lancelot returned to the aid of Arthur and Merlin to rescue Guinevere when she was kidnapped after being mistaken for the Lady Morgana. The two men revealed their love for the same woman, and Lancelot decided not to pursue Gwen.
When Morgause and Morgana took Camelot with their immortal army, Merlin sent a letter asking for Lancelot's help in the last resistance. A week later, Lancelot returned with his friend Percival. In the castle of the old kings, Arthur knighted Lancelot along with the other knights of the Roundtable. After learning of Merlin's plans based on the advice from Freya, the Lady of the Lake, Lancelot helped Merlin empty the Cup of Life from the immortal soldier's blood. The knight and warlock separated from the others to 'take out the warning bell'. Lancelot fought off the soldiers long enough for Merlin to defeat them with the sword Excalibur.
Sir Leon
The Prince's Most Loyal Knight
Sir Leon is a loyal Knight of Camelot. Even when facing death during Morgana's reign of terror, he refused to betray his king and prince. Leon has stood behind Prince Arthur for years, and grew up with Guinevere whose mother had been a maid in his house. Sir Leon often leads the patrols for King Uther, and was attacked by King Cendred's men in one of his patrols. He was saved by druids. Using the Cup of Life the druids were able to save him from certain death. Upon returning to Camelot, Sir Leon informed King Uther of this, and king ordered to cup to be found.
Guinevere helped Leon escaped during Morgana's reign, and he joined her with the other Knights of the Roundtable to fight against Morgana and Morgause. In Arthur's absence he often takes the lead of the other Knights of Camelot. Sir Leon is the most skilled of the Knight of Camelot following Arthur himself whom he often is beaten by, (though many times in a fear that he may injure the prince). He has great abilities with the sword and the lance, and his courage drives him to fight beside Prince Arthur, even against the Great Dragon.
Sir Percival
The Kind and The Strong
Little is known of Sir Percival. He was among the men that Prince Arthur knighted in the castle of the ancient kings and fought in the resistance to Queen Morgana and the immortal army if Morgause. Percival arrived with his friend Lancelot after Merlin sent a letter calling for Lancelot's help. Causing a rock slide, the young knight saved Arthur, Merlin, and the others from the soldiers of Morgause. He is a quiet and kind man, and his extreme strength and courage made him a wonderful addition to the Knights of the Roundtable during the last stand against Morgause's men while Lancelot and Merlin ran to empty the Cup of Light. Like the others of the Roundtable, Percival moved to Camelot to Knights.

Morgause
The Fiercest Enemy to Camelot
Morgause is the most notorious of known sorceress. She is the half sister of Morgana Pendragon, sharing Vivian as their mother. She was smuggled out of Camelot as an infant by Gaius during the Great Purge and raised by those of the old religion. She has grown a deep hatred for King Uther rooted in his ban on magic and the innocent lives killed in the Great Purge by his order. She is a cruel witch, determined to kill Uther and take the thrown from Arthur, giving it instead to her sister Morgana.
She has made many attempted at killing King Uther, most of which including Morgana. Before leaving Camelot for a year with Morgana, Morgause placed a sleeping spell on all of Camelot except Morgana, Arthur, and Merlin. In order to save the kingdom, Merlin poisoned Morgana and forced Morgause to break the spell.
Morgause used the Cup of Life to create an immortal army using the men of King Cendred. Shortly after gaining these men, Morgause killed King Cendred for challenging her, as well as being of no further use. Although she succeeded in taking Camelot and crowning Morgana as queen, her victory was short lived. Merlin emptied the Cup of Life with the help of Gaius and Lancelot, leaving Morgause injured and still unaware of Merlin's magic.
Alice
The Finest Healer in Camelot
Before the Great Purge, Alice was a skilled healer whose magical ability was known throughout the lands. She and Gaius were engaged 20 years ago. But when the Great Purge began, Alice was forced to run away. Gauis stayed behind.
She returned 20 years later and found Gaius and after a reunion in her home the two greeted each other with open arms and worked together like never before with newfound friendship. Alice was forced to try and kill Uther by a Manticore who threatened her each day to kill her unless she done what he told her to. That night she smuggled the Manticore's poison into Gaius's potion when working on one for Uther. She gave the potion to him which rendered him and caused him to pass out and be dead by morning. She was then put in the Dungeon by Arthur for trying to kill Uther, Merlin and Gaius went to find the Manticoore to destroy him and they managed to release her under the spell and find a cure for Uther. She was found guilty by Uther (even after being saved) and set to be executed the following morning after a final talk with Gaius, he told her to be brave. By next morning the warning bell sounded knowing of Alice's escape while Gaius confesses to Merlin he let her go while Merlin says you could of gone with her but Gaius states no one would look after Merlin and take care of him.

Gaius
:
The Wise Court Physician
Prior to becoming court physician Gaius practiced magic with Nimueh. He rose to prominance when the queen died in childbirth and Nimueh failed to save her. She was subsequently banished from the court, becoming an enemy of both King Uther and Gaius. At the same time Uther banished the use of magic in the kingdom and Gaius, unlike Nimueh and many others, stopped practising magic. However, during the Purge, Gaius helped three people who would later return to Camelot as friend or foe; Balinor, Morgause and Alice. He hid Balinor, a Dragonlord, with his friend Hunith, smuggled a baby Morgause out of the citadel and gave her to the High Priestesses of the Old Religion and crossed Alice's name off a list of sorcerers to be arrested and executed.
Hunith later sent Merlin, her son, to be watched over by Gaius, fearing that his powers may be discovered by King Uther's men in their home village. The physician has become like a father to Merlin, whose real father he only met shortly before his death. He has worked to help improve Merlin's powers, including giving him a spell book.
Gaius was the man whom King Uther sent to find help in allowing his wife to give birth to a son, and is also his leading adviser in anything surrounding magic, not only medicine. He is well respected among nobility and the peasants alike, often giving free medical help to those in need. During Morgana's reign he fled the city with Arthur, Merlin, Gwaine, and Elyan. He helped Merlin in fighting Morgause in order to empty the Cup of Life and destroy her immortal army, leaving Merlin's magic still secret to her.
Merlin often asks for Gaius' advice before anyone else. He often replies with the most rational, and most lawful, answers and is not usually surprised when Merlin ignores him. He often reminds Merlin not to be over taken with emotion and to "think of the big picture".
Geoffory
The Court Genealogist & Record Keeper
Geoffrey of Monmouth is the court geneologist and keeper of the royal library in Camelot. He first appears when he discovers the forgery of the seal of nobility Merlin created for Lancelot. (Lancelot) Though he seemed an unsympathetic character it is only through his need to do his job.
He is an old friend of Gaius. Though he refuses at first he helps Gaius by giving access to a secret volume concerning The Great Purge. It is with this that Gaius discoves Edwin Muirden's true motives.When Morgause conquered Camelot with an immortal army, Geoffrey was forced to crown Morgana Queen infront of a restrained Uther.
Geoffrey was a very knowledgeable man being in charge of Camelot's library. He was a close friend of Gaius and illegally gave Gaius a book of records so that Gaius could find out about Edwin Muirden, even though he said Uther would have them both executed if he found out. According to Gaius, Geoffrey was getting fat, though Gaius was possessed by a Goblin when he said this. Geoffrey also complained that young people were always in a hurry. On at least two occasions he has helped Merlin get information, not knowing that Merlin was a sorcerer.
Guinevere
Keeper of A Prince's Heart
Guinevere, known simply as Gwen, is the sister of Elyan and is the handmaiden and former friend of the Lady Morgana and friend of Merlin. She is in love with Arthur Pendragon, and will one day be his queen, even though she is currently a servant.
Gwen is the sister of Elyan, and the daughter of Tom, a blacksmith executed under King Uther's order in suspicion of practicing magic.Her father's death is the basis for her fake loyalty to Morgana during her reign. She used this position to help Sir Leon escape from the dungeons. Unfortunately this was a trap set by Morgana and Morgause, so the group had to move to the castle of the ancient team.
Throughout the last few years, Guinevere has stood behind prince Arthur and Merlin, and has grown deeply attached to the two. Merlin is her dear friend, and her secret love for the prince is often a motivator for her actions. She is also close to Gaius, whom she has known most of her life, since she has been the personal servant of the Lady Morgana since she was a child and Gaius is the court physician.
She also became attached to Lancelot during the events surrounding the Griffin and when she was kidnapped after being mistaken for Morgana. Her love for Arthur, however, over powers her feelings for Lancelot, and he knows this. >/br>
Gwen is a kind, and strong woman, and like Merlin, is very loyal to Prince Arthur despite his shortcomings (of which, the two are not afraid to point out, even if just to each other). Just before Morgana's last betrayal and her seizing of the crown, the seer saw visions of Guinevere being crowned queen after Prince Arthur took the crown. Arthur has already openly stated his desires for Gwen and the end of the royal marriage traditions, but this was believed to be the result of a spell and their love now continues in secret.
Merlin
Emrys, The Prince's Protector
Merlin is a young warlock and the last dragonlord in existence, the only son of Hunith and legendary dragonlord Balinor. In his twenties, Merlin was sent to Camelot by his mother to stay with Gaius, his mother's friend and the court physician of Camelot, to help him understand his unusually powerful magic. There he met Arthur Pendragon, the crown prince of Camelot, and was made his servant after saving him from an assassination attempt.
However, magic was not welcome in Camelot, as the king Uther Pendragon had any creature of magic found in the kingdom slaughtered. Merlin was forced to hide his abilities from nearly everyone. However, Merlin was told by Kilgharrah, a great dragon who had been imprisoned as an example of what happens to magical creatures, that Merlin's destiny was to ensure that Arthur survived long enough to become the king of Camelot, as he would become the greatest king in the history of Camelot.
Because he is forced to keep his abilities secret, Merlin is often underestimated, mainly by Prince Arthur but also Morgana and Morgause, all of whom know nothing of his magic. His bravery and power does not go noticed by those who know his secret. Gaius, hoping to help him improve, often congratulates Merlin on his victories during their dinner, knowing another has been accredited with his work. Sir Lancelot, when fighting the Griffin, refused to take credit for killing the beast, but promised to keep Merlin's secret safe.
Merlin has found it easy to create friends, and has strengthened tries with Lancelot and Gwaine, now Knights of Camelot. He provides a level head to counter balance Arthur, although the prince often does not heed to the warlock's advice. Still, the two are close friends, even if Arthur does not like to acknowledge it. The Great Dragon often calls them two sides of the same coin, and tells Merlin that one day he must reveal himself to Arthur. The future king's distaste for magic is often troubling to Merlin, but he still works towards changing his view, something he spoke of to Gilli when trying to persuade him to leave the tournament. Merlin's ability to see good in all people has been labeled his weakness. This can be seen in his rescue of Mordred with Morgana, the boy destines to kill Arthur, and with his refusal to kill Morgana.

Hunith
Mother of the Last Dragon Lord
Hunith is the mother to Merlin, and the former lover of Balinor, the last Dragonlord and father to the current Dragonlord Merlin. She lives in Ealdor, where Merlin was born. She sheltered Balinor during the Great Purge at teh request of Gaius, a close friend of her's. She sent her only son to the physician in hopes he would help Merlin control his powerful magic.
The closeness the mother and son have is revealed when Nimueh attempts to kill Hunith instead of Merlin, something Merlin would not allow. He defeats Nimeuh in the Isle of the Blessed, remarking that the "Gods with protect you" to his mother before departing.
Although Hunith's home is within the kingdom if Cendred, she goes to King Uther to save her village from bandits. This suggests she is loyal to King Uther, despite his hatred for magic. Although it is unclear if she has any magical abilities, and if so, they are very minimum, she appears, like Merlin, to be a follower of the Old Religion.
Gilli
The Quiet & Polite Ring Bearer
Gilli is a young sorcerer who enters a tournament in which there are no rules. He uses magic to increase his victory. His family history is mostly unknown. His father was a sorcerer who was killed by three men, but refused to use his magic.
Like Merlin, Gilli's powers go unknown by King Arthur as appears only as a villager of Uther's lands. He is a soft spoken and quite boy, and because of his nature he is often bullied by others, fueling his distaste for Uther's ban on magic. While in the tournament Gilli was intoxicated with power and the respect he gained from defeating his opponents in battle. After being countered by Merlin's magic in his fight against King Uther, Gilli understood the reason his father refused to use the ring that allowed them to channel their magic. He left Camelot after the tournament, still a friend to Merlin, and better understanding himself and his magic, along with the importance of doing to great deed.
