THE ROLES


the info

Now if you've looked through the Canons then you would have seen that there are words such as 'gunner' or 'medic' or 'scout', these are the characters role that they specialize in within the group. Now this list will change if the staff thinks of more roles, or if any of you have your own ideas and wish to share them with the board then there's a section in the Request And Suggestions section. You don't have to share and do feel free to make up a role that is more suited to your character if you do not see one here that fits them. Do keep in mind that your character does not have to have a specific role, for example if they are a Rogue out on their own then they kind of have to know a bit of everything. But all in all everything is up to you so please don't feel pressured. This is just here to help you.


leader

This role is pretty straight forward, the leader is in charge of the group that they're a part of. Now the leader moderates the group, they make sure everything is going alright and if any concerns about anything are usually brought to their attention. The leaders typically have another skill set leaving them with two roles in the group.


co-leader

Basically second in command the Co-Leader helps the Leader regulate the group and helps make important decisions. If the Leader is gone or is unable to make decisions then the responsibility falls onto the Co-Leader's shoulders.


gunner

Gunners are people who are experienced with guns, handguns, shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, the works. Typically they help Runners go into populated walker areas making sure that they're kept safe. Although Gunners are skilled with guns they only use them as a last resort since the sound of gun shots attract walkers.


runner

If supplies are needed then the Runners are the first ones to be put into a group to go. They're fast and can hide easily. Their job is to get in grab what they need and get out. It's very helpful to them if they have a rout or an escape plan already planned out if something is to go wrong.


hitter

Hitters specialize in hand to hand combat or prefer close range weapons such as baseball bats, machetes, tire irons, ect. They're good at using what's around them as weapons, if it's not nailed to the ground then they'll use it.


medic

If you were a doctor of some sort before the outbreak then you'd probably be a Medic. They're the ones who're there to help get ride of a small cold or stitch up a bullet wound. They're not to be confused with Doctors.


scout

Scouts keep an ever watchful eye on the group, or area where the group has set up camp. They can also check out an unknown area to see if it's safe before the whole group follows.


sniper

These are the people who are skilled with sniper rifles and can take out walkers or unwanted enemies out from a distance. They're basically a Gunner but they specialize in snipping.


hunter

Hunters are important because they track down food for the group. Whether they use a silent weapon like a bow and crossbow or a gun is up to them. They're silent on their feet and most know the art of tracking.


strategist

Strategists plan out runs into cities, typically they adapt to their surroundings fairly easily and are quick on their feet coming up with ideas. They also help make plans for protecting their group from walkers.


diplomat

Diplomats are excellent with words. The keep the group calm when things go wrong. They're the voice of reason in this new world.


technician

Technicians are typically good with their hands. They know how things work and they know how to fix it. If a car breaks down they're usually the first one to take a look at it. If a fence needs to be built they're more then likely the ones to make it.


botanist

Living in a world where regular food is scarce you'll need to know what you can each and what you can from nature. Botanists know what's harmful to the human body and what is ok to eat. They also know how to grow and take care of plants, if a permanent camp is set up then they might even start a small farm. They also are aware of the healing remedies that plants carry.


ex-military

Ex-Military characters are either those who are deserters or have been in the military in the past. They're trained with extensive knowledge of many fighting techniques and are most likely to have guns and weapons on them at all time.


scientist

This group is trying to create a cure for the rising epidemic. Whether they were a biologist or a chemist, that doesn't matter anymore because their new job is now to stop the infection from spreading by making a cure.


soldier

Soldiers are working with whatever government is left, which isn't much. They've been stationed at either the West Coat Base, the Mid-West Base, or at New Eden. Many have deserted their fellow troops to be with their family in these dark times. Those who chose to stay do their best to keep the Bases and the people inside them safe.


doctor

Doctors are working with the government. They're there for if anyone gets sick or if out on a mission the soldiers get injured, they do their best to do their job. They work occasionally with the scientists when they need their help in their experiments.
