Nestled in the marsh, just beyond the bridge and sealed off from society, lurks Hallow Reed. A perpetual gloom pervades the area as you enter and immediately it becomes clear that this is no ordinary city. Lost in the times, the village of Hallow Reed dabbles in ancient customs, crafts, and dark arts. There is no Pokemon Center here, but instead a witch doctor, who will be more than happy to look your pokemon over for a price. Shoddy dirt paths weave in and out of overgrown thickets and brush that has begun to creep and grow over time.

In the center of town lies Nightmare Square, where a variety of unorthodox merchants and shops can be found. You can find divination, alchemy, and even a dark circus here. Old gothic architecture, once mighty and proud, lies in shambled ruins throughout the town. What caused such destruction remains to be seen.

Once one of the most wealthy and influential families in Kutho, the famous Malheur legacy originated here in Hallow Reed. Rising up over the rest of the village is the old Malheur Manor itself. Once a popular tourist attraction, the manor and its occupants now have become a mystery of their own, and all but the most brave and determined tourists still come.
