Koro continued on walking, hoping to not get slowed down anyway. '~Jaxa, wake up you fool. If I pass out, you may have to get ready to take over for us to survive.~ -...- ~Damnit weakling, wake up.~ -...- ~Oh this is great, if I pass out, Jaxa won't be ready to take over. And we will wind up dying here in the effin barrens.~' He tried to converse, as he continued on in what felt like the ever-rising heat. He put his knife into his bag trying to get some of the weight on his body into his bag.

In only a few minutes the trees had already thinned out, leaving sources of shade few and far in between. The healthy flush of grass lessened, becoming wilted, brown, and scraggly with unkind conditions, and the concentration of clouds began to break apart. As more of the sky (and with it, the sun) grew prevalent, Koro would realize the worst was yet to come; the temperature had only now begun to rise in earnest.

Koro's poor state did not go unnoticed. The seemingly empty Barrens flickered to life as a dry wind spread the smell of his blood out, and the first wave was a flurry of tiny black insects that zipped incessantly about Koro's face and chest wounds. Other signs of life were more subtle. To Koro's right, he would see a small patch of ground shift and release a wisp of dust into the air. Behind the trainer was a high-pitched, rapid noise similar to children's laughter, though the laughing was far was too raspy to belong to someone young--or human.

"GOD DAMN!!" Koro yelled out when he realized how hot it was probably going to get to. When he noticed the black insects, he swatted them away as best he could. The noise, it was bone-chilling, and he did not like it. Children were not his best friend by far. He looked back as if to see what it was that wanted to freak him out sooo much. Though he wouldn't stop walking as he looked back, making sure to keep the black bugs off of him.

Just three small, unsuspecting cacnea. The laughing cut out the moment Koro looked back and the pokemon stopped, their perpetually smiling faces watching the trainer right back.

"Can you three leave me alone please? Y'know, I'm like on the verge of death and don't have time for you to get your asses kicked." Koro said as he continued walking. He didn't want to be bothered by the pokemon as he tried to pretty much fight for his own survival. He needed to get to Deathgorge, with as little more interruption as possible. He was moving as fast as possible towards the town, mostly ignoring them, still knocking the bugs off whenever they tried to bother him.

[Indigo]

The cacnea's laughter continued, as did their footfalls, both sounds getting gradually louder. They were closing in Koro and refusing to heed his warnings at all. In fact, one of them threw several small pins at him, the poison stings thudding into the ground to Koro's right and coming dangerously close to hitting him.

Koro turned on his heel before throwing his arms out towards them and yelling "Get the hell away from me!!" After that he started jogging towards Deathgorge, no matter how painful it actually was for him. He didn't like how they were following him, and it sort of disturbed him.

"Cac cac!"

Koro could cover more ground than their stubby legs could, but the cacnea trio certainly did their best to continue following. The pokemon were not the only persistent ones. Koro's ankle wound shot pain up his leg with every footfall and the sun was sapping his strength. Koro would sweat profusely as his body baked in the heat.

Several needles lodged into his calf and sent another shock of pain through him. Koro wouldn't feel any more off than he did from the blood he'd already lost, so it was safe to say he wasn't poisoned, but he would stumble a bit before he could keep jogging.

There were a lot of cacti in the area, it turned out. Koro would start finding it difficult to discern which were cacneas and which were plants, as they all seemed to be moving around a little.

"Alright, thats it. I am now mad." He said, first pulling out his pokenav, to try calling something to help him get medical attention. After he had dialed for help he threw out Kagura's ball. "Kagura, use a night shade on whichever. Just keep their attention, and duck into the ground if they shoot any spines." He said, waiting for someone to pick up, hopefully someone from Deathgorge could come get him, though he wouldn't mind getting brought to Mura. He didn't want to see Jet, at least not yet.

[Indigo]

((Incredible rolls.))

"911, what is the nature of you emergency?" asked the operator on the other end.

Unfortunately for Kagura, she had just stopped to line up a shot when all three cacnea swiped their arms at her. The barrage of needles were impossible to dodge, and the shuppet screamed as several drove into her body, face, and eyes. Her night shade, which had been flying towards the cacnea in the middle, did hit its target and knock the cactus over, but the dark bolts dissipated as Kagura was forced to shut her eyes and twist away. With another of her peculiar wails, she ducked underground and meekly poked her head up in case Koro had more orders.

Kagura was a pretty small target though, so what needles didn't hit her hit Koro in the back. His clothes deflected most of them, though a few spines did drive into his back.

Koro's knees would start to feel a little weak from fatigue.

Update: Kagura (blinded in left eye, partially underground).

Terrain: Barrens. The ground consists of dust, dirt, and rocks of varying sizes. Cacti are plentiful, as are rocky outcroppings.

"Uhh, I was scratched by a vigoroth, I'm losing blood on both sides of my body, and my ankle is bleeding as well. But ya, I am on the road to Deathgorge from the Mossy Forest, being attacked by cacnea." He said with an eerie calm about his voice, as his knees buckled, forcing him into a kneeling pose. After he was down onto his knees, he turned so he was facing the cacnea on his haunches instead "Kagura, try another nightshade." He said looking at the battle, hoping they would be able to get to him quickly. He moved his backpack to his front, so that the pokemon couldn't shoot his wound with poison shots anymore.

[Indigo]

"An emergency vehicle has been dispatched to the location of your pokeNAV. Help is on the way." So the wait began.

It was three against one and Kagura was not looking forward to those odds. Pulling herself out of the ground to attack, it was apparent now that her left eye was shut tight from the last needle assault. She had to keep it open for a proper night shade and with a scream of pain more than exertion, Kagura forced the unwilling organ to work in unison and shot twin bolts of energy in Cacnea's chest. Kagura was able to keep focused enough to attack the same creature as before, though she still couldn't pull off an attack fast enough to avoid retaliation; as before, she shrieked as the other two wild pokemon swung their arms and dislodged poison-laced spines all over the front side of her body. The rest thudded harmlessly against Koro's pack.

The cacnea that was knocked over pulled itself to its feet and leveled a glare at Kagura. Though not intimidating by itself, when Cacnea made its eyes light up an intense blue, Kagura drew back uneasily. She unconsciously trembled, her ability to brace herself against physical attacks weakening under the leer.

Kagura whimpered. She couldn't see out of her left eye, she was no longer invulnerable, and she was in terrible pain. This wasn't at all as easy as the vigoroth fight.

"Thank you." He said, waiting for the person on the other end to hang up before he would. He recalled Kagura, so that he could just protect himself with the pack, and keep Kagura out of harms way. "Shoo ya wretched Cacnea, someone is coming to help me. And I am pretty sure they wouldn't hesitate from attacking you." He said, mostly trying to get them to leave him alone. He would hide his head behind the pack, if they shot more spines towards him.

Either they didn't understand or didn't care. Still laughing away they walked closer, arms outstretched as they spread out to circle Koro. They began to close in. Meanwhile, Koro's vision was getting blurry.

"No, no group hug, I don't want it!!" He called out quickly taking his jacket out of his pack and putting it on. He didn't want them to hurt him that much, and the blood loss was making him forget, that his pokemon would be able to protect, him. At least partially until the ambulances got there. He looked around, just trying to keep awake now. Though it wasn't going so well, his hand falling to his belt, accidentally as he grabbed Kita's ball and throwing it. "Kita, sand attack all the cacnea." He said, in a daze, not really knowing he was giving the order.
