Title: Fresh Air

Junahia - January 24, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
For the second time, Junahia had been healed by the bird. He was relieved to be feeling better, although there was still some slight pain, he'd almost completely recovered. He felt the warm sunlight on his face and breathed in the fresh air. It was like a luxury. Fleet Town was gone, and the smoke there was powerful enough to make him choke and cough. The air blew past him, and it felt good on his skin. This was when he realised he could feel it on his back. Reaper ran a hand down his back and found that his shirt had ripped along where Absol had attacked him. He shrugged it off and forgot about it.

Reaper practically ignored Senmurv, and let the Pokemon do what he want. He glanced at it and put on a face that suggested he was thankful, but then he turned to look at the route around him, to see what Pokemon and Trainers were out and about.

Indigo - January 28, 2007 10:47 PM (GMT)
Senmurv looked mostly apathetic and remained where he was.

- Two Digletts were digging alongside each other through the earth. It was probably the only care anything had even shown the tough earth of this route.

- The skunk-like pokemon Sukanpuu trotted along the path. It stopped and began licking at its paws.

- A single Rhyhorn was trying pull its horn out of an uprooted, withered tree. The creature was making progress, made clear by the sound of wood giving way, but for the moment it was still stuck.

As for trainers there was only one. It was a woman in her late twenties sitting down and petting a hippopotamus-type creature, or a Hipopotasu.

Junahia - January 28, 2007 10:51 PM (GMT)
Junahia looked around, there was not much that really interested him. The Rhyhorn was what caught his attention, he felt sympathy for the creature, but did little more to give his attention to it. Instead, he started to walk north, towards Mura City where he could get a new shirt. He walked onwards, quickly and quietly, paying little attention to his surroundings.

Indigo - January 28, 2007 10:58 PM (GMT)
The walk was uneventful, especially in comparison to what Junahia had experienced in Fleet Town. It wasn't long before he was back in Mura and amongst many clothing stores to suit his needs. They ranged from stores sporting designer clothes to department stores to thrift shops, and they all were in abundance in the city.

Junahia - January 28, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
Junahia continued to walk down the streets, and he checked each shop that he went by. His objective was to find a shop that had the cheapest shirts on sale, especially as he wasn't hoping to spend a lot of money.

Indigo - January 28, 2007 11:25 PM (GMT)
The cheapest-looking building was a reasonably clean thrift store with a giant sign reading "Discount" fixed at the top of the building. The clear door was already open, and inside were numerous t-shirts and pants on stands throughout the store. In the back was a long rack for shoes. Near the door was a large open wire crate were several new packages of socks had been piled up.

The register desk was a little dirty, as was the unshaven and lethargic man sitting in a chair behind the desk. He scratched at his untamed beard a little and stared blankly at no one in particular. There were a few people already shopping inside.

Junahia - January 31, 2007 02:28 AM (GMT)
Junahia wandered around the store, looking for some plain shirts. He eventually came to a small shelf with different coloured shirts, and he decided to get two shirts; a black one and a white one. Jun approached the cashier with the shirts and put them down on the desk.

"How much does this cost?" he asked, retreiving some money from his pocket.

Indigo - February 4, 2007 02:01 AM (GMT)
"10 Kuts," the man said without missing a beat. He also didn't focus his stare on Junahia. "Will that be all for you?"

Junahia - February 5, 2007 03:08 AM (GMT)
"Yeah, that's it for me, thanks." Jun said, as he slapped ten kuts down on the table, and grabbed his shirts. He walked south again, towards Route 4. On his way down, he pulled of his ripped shirt and threw it in a trash can on the street, then pulled the replacing white one over his head.

Indigo - February 5, 2007 04:11 AM (GMT)
Again, there was nothing stopping Junahia from getting back down to Route 4, though a few citizens of the female persuasion paused to watch the shirt-changing event. Junahia would find Senmurv exactly in the same spot, though two people dressed in long black overcoats stood around the Xatu. One suddenly knelt and extended his or her hand for Senmurv to peck out of, while the other knelt and appeared to be saying something to it.

There were also a few pokemon around.

- A Duskull hovered around slowly in a circle.

- A Solrock did exactly the same thing somewhat farther away near a pile of rocks.

- Two Sandshrews were running along the road quickly.

- A Makuhita practiced its Arm Thrust on a large rock.

Junahia - February 5, 2007 04:30 AM (GMT)
Junahia noticed as some heads turned his way, but he made no action towards the attention, and continued to walk towards Route 4. When he got there, he saw Senmurv, and what must have a been two rockets. Again, he ignored them and looked at the Pokemon on the route.

He saw the Makuhita, and saw it as a good chance for some training. Jun released his new Machop, and aimed his PokeDex at it.

Indigo - February 8, 2007 03:08 AM (GMT)
Machop instantly started stretching and cracking her knuckles upon exiting her pokeball.

Machop. This fighting-type pokemon trains constantly to become stronger. Often times this pokemon can be been hefting rocks and even Gravellers to become stronger. Their muscles never seem to get sore and they have amazing strength, especially considering they are the size of a human child. It is said there are even Machops who quest to master all forms of martial arts.

This Machop is female and level 8. She knows Low Kick, Leer, and Focus Energy.

The PokeDEX also caught Makuhita in its scan.

This Makuhita is male and level 7.

Junahia - February 11, 2007 07:13 PM (GMT)
Junahia was relieved to be able to go through a pokemon battle that wouldn't be a case of life and death, for once. He closed his pokedex and put it back into his pocket and knelt down next to his Machop. "Hi. I'm Jun, your new master. This is gonna be your first fight for me, then we'll give you a suitable nickname, okay? Now, you see that pokemon over there?" He asked, pointing out the Makuhita. "That's our target. First, use focus energy to prepare. Then get its attention and leer at it to soften it up. After that, I want you to charge at it and use low kick to trip it up. When its down, just keep punching it and kicking it with all your might."

Indigo - April 8, 2007 05:55 PM (GMT)
Machop nodded and glanced over at her target, mostly likely to gauge his strength before following through with her orders. Whatever she may have thought, she didn't look especially impressed and went about breathing deeply to calm herself and concentrate.

She achieved her focused state fairly quickly and walked over to the Makuhita, briefly snorting to try get his attention, but it would take a while actually get the portly pokemon's mind off of slamming rocks. Still, when Makuhita finally did turn, it was right into a fierce, glowing Leer that made him shift backwards briefly. Not to overlook an advantage, Machop sprinted forward, dropped down to her hip once close enough, and slid forward to deliver a Low Kick to Makuhita's leg.

Grunting in pain, the Makuhita's own bulk worked against him as he toppled over painfully onto his injured leg. Still, he did nothing to attack. He too was clearing his thoughts from the pain and focusing to better attack Machop next time, even as Machop got up and began punching him.

Update: Machop is focused (Critical Hit rate up). Makuhita's Defense is lowered (-1). Makuhita is focused (Critical Hit rate up).

End Stats: Machop is focused (Critical Hit rate up). Makuhita's has lowered Defense (-1) and is focused (Critical Hit rate up).

Terrain: The ground is dusty and consists of pebbles and short, dry grass. There is a large rock nearby, and a collection of smaller rocks farther off than that.

Junahia - April 8, 2007 06:04 PM (GMT)
Junahia liked what he saw this far, and kept his eye on the battle. There was not much else to the strategy than a good pumelling from his Machop, so he just ordered a few words to help Machop. "Keep up the good work, but be careful of a counter attack! Keep the Makuhita down, don't let it up."

Indigo - April 8, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
Machop nodded and continued to deliver as many punishing blows as she could, kicking and punching at Makuhita with all of her strength and not giving Makuhita much time at all to counter. In desperation, however, Makuhita threw his entire body at Machop and succeeded in pinning the much lighter pokemon to the ground.

Having all that weight crushing down on Machop knocked the wind clear out of her, and she had to take a few desperate gasps of breath after Makuhita finally rolled away and got back to his feet.

End Stats: Machop is focused (Critical Hit rate up). Makuhita's has lowered Defense (-1) and is focused (Critical Hit rate up).

Junahia - April 8, 2007 07:10 PM (GMT)
Junahia quickly thought it through and gave it out some encouragement and advice to his Machop. The Makuhita was bigger than Machop, so would likely come out on top in any straightforward fight. "Okay, Machop. Stay on your toes and use its weight against it. First, use a leer to distract it and then try to throw some pebbles and rocks at the Makuhita's eyes. After that, trip it up and hit it a few times, but back up as it steadies itself."

Indigo - April 8, 2007 07:47 PM (GMT)
Machop dragged herself away from Makuhita and jumped back to her feet. Makuhita would have lunged after her, but another terrifying Leer from Machop bought her enough time to backpedal and retreat from the next Tackle.

Pebbles and rocks were in abundance in the area, and Machop would find no trouble picking a few up and flinging them at Makuhita's face and eyes. Growling, Makuhita took a few to the face before raising a glove to his face and block and using the other hand to sweep a wave of dust, dirt, and rocks into Machop's own eyes.

Machop's pebble throwing was more painful, but Makuhita's Sand Attack was far more irritating; all that dust in Machop's eyes caused them to water involuntarily as her natural tears tried to rid the clinging particles from her eyes. Despite this pain, Machop still charged again, dropped, and slid for Makuhita. It was another direct hit, as Makuhita was still a big target and hard to miss.

Again Makuhita went tumbling to the ground, his weight only increasing the pain of falling over on his injured leg. To add to this pain, the constant Leers were removing Makuhita's ability to brace himself against incoming attacks, and this second Low Kick hurt far more than the first. Makuhita was much slower in rising to his feet this time around.

Update: Machop's Accuracy is lowered (-1). Makuhita's Defense is lowered (-1).

End Stats: Machop is focused (Critical Hit rate up) and has lowered Accuracy (-1). Makuhita's has lowered Defense (-2) and is focused (Critical Hit rate up).

Junahia - April 8, 2007 08:48 PM (GMT)
Being the opportunist that he was, Jun noticed the weakening of the Makuhita's leg, and called out specific instructions to target that leg. "Okay Machop. Hit that same leg again! That'll slow the Makuhita down for you and make it an easy target for you. So close in with a leer and then a low kick, then stomp on that same leg a couple times."

Indigo - April 8, 2007 09:25 PM (GMT)
Though Machop's eyes were narrowed in pain, she still summoned forth the light to make them look intimidating to Makuhita. To her credit, Makuhita did recoil some, but he limped forward with his palms raised in preparation for his signature Arm Thrust attack.

Machop was faster even without Makuhita's hurt leg, however, and wasted no time in sliding across the ground into that very same leg again. When Makuhita fell over this time, it was with an audible gasp of pain. The pain did not subside, however; Machop quickly began stomping on and digging her heel into Makuhita's hurt leg.

Exhausted, the Makuhita struggled to get up, managed to prop himself up on his arms, and then fell over again. He wouldn't be conscious for much longer.

Update: Makuhita's Defense is lowered (-1).

End Stats: Machop is focused (Critical Hit rate up) and has lowered Accuracy (-1). Makuhita's has lowered Defense (-3) and is focused (Critical Hit rate up).

Junahia - April 8, 2007 09:33 PM (GMT)
Junahia grinned. The battle was as good as over. "Okay Machop. The finishing move. Stomp that Makuhita's head into the ground with all your might."

Indigo - April 8, 2007 10:18 PM (GMT)
Machop matched Junahia's grin with one of her own. She brought her foot down firmly atop the Makuhita's head, and he uttered a final groan before falling unconscious.

Dusting her hands off casually, Machop only worried about wiping her eyes clean after she'd walked back over to her trainer.

Update: Makuhita has fainted.

Battle Rewards: Machop has gained +4 EXP and is at 90% health.

Junahia - April 8, 2007 10:26 PM (GMT)
Junahia smiled at the Machop, who he truthfully had not yet thought of a name for, so said noting of the topic as he congratulated it on her first victory. "That was a great fight, my friend. I can see you're a little tired so we'll take you to a PokeCentre soon." Junahia returned Machop to the pokeball, and began walking south. To the remains of Fleet Town. His goal was to head up to the newly found town... He couldn't remember the name of it, just that it was built near the Great Gorge.

Indigo - April 8, 2007 10:50 PM (GMT)
Machop just nodded proudly as she was recalled.

As Junahia walked down the route, he would find the two men in black overcoats still with Senmurv, feeding him breadcrumbs and joking with him as the Xatu preened on with little emotion.

The wail of sirens came from behind him. Coming from Mura was a fleet of ambulances, police squad cars, and even the occasional fire truck as they rushed to help extinguish the inferno that was Fleet Town.

Overhead, a Fearow and its rider flew for Mura. Senmurv watched this and flew after them, the two humans waving as he left.

If you do not wish to remain here, you may now post in Fleet Town or Emerald Pass (Route 2).
