"Say that again!" Hinoiri said, turning around to face a group of three boys.

"BAKA! BAKA!" The biggest one said. "BA-" He had no time to say the next word, because Hinoiri had already punched him in the stomach. He flew backwards for several meters.

"SAY THAT AGAIN!" Hinoiri yelled. She looked at the other two boys. "Do you want to say something to me?" She asked sinisterly. The boys shook their head and ran off.

"That was kind of... mean." Someone behind Hinoiri said.

"Yeah? How so?" She asked, turning around.

[Kurai]

Shippou cowered. "I don't know.... It's just... That must have hurt...." She chewed at her fingernail. "I'm sorry. Please forgive me for my intrusion."

[Rinji]

"Hm..." Hinoiri turned around to look at the boy she had hit. He was crawling away. "It was a lesson. There's nothing... too bad about it. But they were bothering me. He deserved it." Hinoiri shrugged.

"I guess...." She looked off. "Oh my god! I'm gonna be late for school!" She tightened her grip on her books and ran off towards the academy.

Hinoiri cursed, "****." She walked towards the academy as well.

Shippou entered the classroom and sat in the far back by herself. The other students talked cheerfully.

[Rinji]

Hinoiri entered the academy and was about 5 minutes late.

"Hinoiri... you're-" The teacher started to say.

"Yeah... I know," Hinoiri replied lazily as she started to walk over to an open seat. The teacher stared at her.

"Stop right there! If you're going to have an attitude like that..." The teacher smirked. "We're going to practice our substitution jutsus!"

"O-kaay then..." Hinoiri said, turning around. All the students around her started to groan.

Shippou stood quietly and made her way down to the front of the room with the other students though she kept her distance from them. She shifted nervously, sweating heavily.

[Rinji]

"All right..." The teacher said, taking out a clipboard. He looked at the ends of the line. He walked over to one of the ends and pointed to Shippou. "You first. Then we'll go down the line."

[Kurai]

"M- me!?" She stepped forward. "Okay...." She made a hand sign. Kawarimi no Jutsu. She was suddenly a sign. It fell over. "Is that good, sir?" she asked quietly from behind him.

[Rinji]

The teacher nodded, and wrote something down on his clipboard. "You may go back to your seat."

Then the teacher continued to go down the line.

[Kurai]

"Yessir." She slowly walked to the back of the room, biting her lip nervously. Did he write something bad? She shuddered at the thought.

[Rinji]

The teacher reached Hinoiri. "All right, Hinoiri."

Hinoiri sighed and made a handsign. A second later she turned into... herself.

"..." The teacher stared at her. He turned around in surprise, feeling the presence of someone behind him. In half a second, a kunai knife went by him and hit Hinoiri in the chest.

The teacher only turned around to see Hinoiri. Confused, he turned around again to the Hinoiri standing before him just a few seconds ago. She wasn't there, so he looked on the floor and saw a log with a kunai knife in it. "Uh..?"

"Ninjas have to substitute themselves before the enemy's eyes can see. Isn't that right, sensei?"

The teacher cleared his throat and adjusted his hitai-ate. "Yes... that's right. Now take your seat, Hinoiri."

Hinoiri walked back up to her seat.

Shippou twiddled her fingers. Oh no! I know I failed! "That... was very good," she stated, almost in a whisper. She was covered in sweat.

[Rinji]

The teacher cleared his throat again, overdoing it a little. The students in the front could see that he turned a little pink. "Everyone... passed for today."

Hinoiri rested her head on her palm and sighed.
