He also has a distinct tattoo on his right hand between his thumb and index finger that says "Hayabusa", but he keeps his palm wrapped in bandages when he's out in public to keep the tattoo out of sight.
History: Ichiro's grandfather was a well respected shinobi and his grandmother, the daughter of a wealthy merchant. Together, the two raised three sons to the best of their ability until, in an almost comically unfortunate coincidence, Ichiro's grandfather was killed during a mission on the day before his youngest son, Shouhei, was meant to enter the ninja academy.
With his mother grief-stricken and his father dead, Shouhei was never able to realize his dream of becoming shinobi and protecting his country. Worse still, he watched with horror as he was forced, by circumstance, to sell food out of the back of a cart just to get by while his brothers rapidly ascended the ranks of the military and left home to travel the world on what seemed to him at he time like dangerous and exciting missions.
Fast forwarding several years in the future, Ichiro Matsumoto is a 12 year old boy who thinks shinobi are "pretty cool, but not really my thing". He also thinks his overbearing father, Shouhei, who forced him to enroll at the ninja academy, is completely out of his mind.
From the day Ichiro was born, Shouhei has been abnormally obsessed with making sure his son became a shinobi at any and all costs. In fact, in the days before Ichiro was accepted into the ninja academy, his father didn't leave home or sleep a single wink in fear that he would die like his own father and ruin his son's chance at preserving the family legacy. And on the night before the first day of classes, driven by a flashback from the night that ruined his own life, Ichiro's father entered his room, held him down and tattooed an elaborately stylized version of the symbol "Hayabusa" [Falcon] on his hand. While it looked nice, to Ichiro it was essentially a giant sign that made anyone that didn't know his dad was crazy immediately aware. It is also, in his opinion, kind of a lame nickname.
Ichiro loves his family, but generally avoids his father when he needs advice or someone to talk to. His mother is very calm and understanding and possibly the only person that can tolerate the behaviors of her neurotic husband. She runs administrative parts the rather successful restaurant she and Shouhei grew from his old food cart business and she also keeps a lookout for her husband when Ichiro and his friends are relaxing at the restaurant and grabbing a bite to eat.
An additional strain on Ichiro's relationship with his family is that neither of his parents nor any of his uncles have told him about his family history, making his father's behavior even more perplexing in his eyes. But even without words, Ichiro is sure there's a reason for why his dad acts the way he does and deep down, he respects the discipline and drive he has instilled in him over the course of his life.
As for personality, he doesn't have any special personality quirks. Aside from having a bad day here and there, he is a normal 12 year old boy. When he's around his father, however, he is rather quiet and tends to avoid eye contact.

Description: As we all know shinobi are born able to manipulate a certain element. For those gifted with the wind element this chart is open to them. Wind happens to be one of the more offensive elements due to the sheer power that wind itself has. These techniques range from bursts of wind capable of splintering trees to concentrated lashes able to slice an enemy cleanly in half. Not only is this chart dangerous by itself but it makes quite a few deadly comboís when mixed with others.
Hanshateki Kaze Chikara (Reflecting Wind Force)
Description: A simple technique that even the weakest shinobi can perform. While this technique has its uses in combat situations itís often used for training because it contains the basics of wind manipulation. By simply emitting chakra into their hands the user can release something similar to a gust of wind at an oncoming projectile. This simply lets the user repel or redirect the said projectile.
Ririntaru Kaze (Biting Breeze)
Description: Another very basic technique that only requires the user to know how to manipulate the wind element. The shinobi releases a weak gust of wind from their mouth that at first seems like a gentle breeze. After it travels a few feet the wind begins to pick up motion. By the time it reaches up to ten feet away it has as much force as a normal punch. This technique is obviously stronger if the enemy is farther away but dissipates after about fifteen feet.
Academy & Village Technique Chart
Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Technique)
Description: This technique must be mastered by any ninja who has graduated from the Academy at the Hidden Cloud Village. It's the most basic technique a Genin must know, since it can be a real lifesaver. This ninjutsu creates an illusional clone of the user.
Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique)
Description: Henge no Jutsu is the basic skill a ninja must know to become a Genin. It is a very useful and widely used skill in the series, as it has many uses. It's mostly used as a decoy, to confuse the opponent by transforming into somebody that's an ally with the enemy.
Genjutsu Kai (Genjutsu Release)
Description: A Ninjutsu technique where the ninja focuses their chakra and screams "kai" or "release." They can perform it on themselves or on others. It will effectively ward off most Genjutsu, unless extremely powerful or when used in conjunction with an advanced bloodline.
Kinobori/Kabenobori no Jutsu (Tree/Wall Walking Technique)
Description: By focusing a proper amount of chakra into the feet, the user is able to walk on walls and trees.
Kumo Shunshin no Jutsu
Description: An ability which allows the user to transport from one area to another in a veil of smoke. (Not to be Used in Battle)
Suimen Hokou no Gyou (Water Walking)
Description: By focusing their chakra in a similar manner to the Kinobori technique, the user is able to balance over the surface of water, allowing them to walk and run freely.
Kawarimi no Jutsu
Description: The Body Substitute skill is a widely used and very famous skill among shinobis. Put simply, the user uses speed to his/her advantage, and grabs an item from the environment and places it on his/her current position while moving out of the way.
