A cash-strapped Nadine Coyle has reportedly accepted a £500,000 deal for Celebrity Big Brother.
The Girls Aloud singer initially turned down a request to take part in the Channel 5 reality TV show but when show bosses came back with the astronomical offer she quickly accepted in order to clear the reported £100,000 tax bill on her US bar Nadine's Irish Mist.
A source told the Daily Mail: "This money will allow Nadine to clear all her debts in America and start the Girls Aloud tour with a clean slate. Initially, when she was approached by the station to take part, she turned it down flat.
"But when she met TV executives in London last week and saw how much was on the table she eventually agreed. They simply made her an offer she couldn't refuse."
The money would make Nadine among the highest ever paid celebrities on the show, with Irish twins Jedward receiving £1million for their appearance last year and she is said to be confident she can win over viewers with her personality.
The source added: "Nadine is confident that the public will warm to the real her, which is a warm, funny but confident woman.
"Cheryl [Cole] is not the only member of the band that can command big TV show appearance fees.
Nadine hopes that she will be able to resurrect her image by appearing on Celebrity Big Brother. This will make or break her."

I thought Jedward were quite entertaining but probably not worth all that money. I wondr why Nadine amassed so many debts?? I had the impression that Kerry Katona also only joined the show for financial reasons.

IMO - 75% of the stars go on CBB for the money or to re boot their flagging career..
I agree. It's something like that or they are about to release a book or go on some sort of tour.
It's perfectly understandable. Why put yourself through that without a suitable reward? But it still takes a certain type to do that. I am sure that there are many that would never do that nno matter how much they might need the money.
Of course there are many with very different motives. For example, Galloway did it because he wanted publicity for his political views.

IT’S every celeb’s worst nightmare – an embarrassing parent appearing on a reality TV show.
So it’s hardly surprising that pop sensation JUSTIN BIEBER, 18, is a bit miffed that his old man has signed up for this summer’s British Celebrity Big Brother.
I can reveal that JEREMY JACK BIEBER, (who, ladies, is something of a hottie too) will be paid more than £100,000 for his stint in the Channel 5 house.
Jez, 38, who modestly describes himself as a “looker”, is said to be over the moon ...

Celebrity Big Brother 2012: Duane "Dog" Chapman denied entry to UK!
Potential Celebrity Big Brother housemate Duane “Dog” Chapman has been denied entry into the UK this week.
The American reality star had his UK visa rejected by the UK Border Force, who cited a previous murder conviction and “lack of information” about his stay.
Big Brother production company Endemol had sponsored Dog, who made a name for himself as a bounty hunter, stating that they wanted him for Celebrity Big Brother “due to his public interest in his lifestyle and celebrity personality.”
The 59-year-old spent 18 months in prison in the 1970s for murder, although had nothing to do with the crime itself. Simply by being present at the scene was enough to convict him.
“It’s something that follows you the rest of your life, no matter who you become or who you are,” he said. “I’m not proud of it.”
He explained:”In Texas in the ’70s, if you were present, you were just as guilty.”
Duane added: “It feels terrible. I’m dumbfounded. I can’t believe it, after all these years, especially when we’ve been on television for the past nine years.”
A spokesperson for the UK Border Agency said in a statement: “All visa applicants are required to declare any criminal convictions when applying to come to the UK. The UK Border Agency subjects all applications for visas to the same rigorous checks.”
