It's been a couple of years since we've been to one of these so thought it was high time for a revisit. We realised it was the 4th time we've been
As ever it was a fantastic event, great atmosphere and excellent music. This year it featured Lesley Garrett as the female lead and Wynne Evans as the male lead.
Lesley certainly does have a mighty fine pair (of lungs!)
Also joining in were a choir called All men Aloud, I understand they won a BBC talent show but not being a fan of these things I have no idea which one. I was impressed by them, they did a version of rain on my parade which I found most entertaining and also a version of the Green Green grass of home which was rather different.
Lesley Garrett sung a good range of songs such as the impossible dream, Some enchanted evening, as well as some songs from Puccini's Carmen and something by Verdi which I recognized but do not know the name of.
Wynne sang Nessun Dorma and a few other songs which again I recognised but did not know the names of.
It all ended in the traditional way with fantasia on sea shanties then Rule Britannia and so on.
The whole thing was capped by a brilliant display from the plane known as the Grace Spitfire, it is piloted by Carolyn Grace the only female spitfire pilot in the world, and bless her heart she lives in Cambridgeshire

She flew to the Dambusters theme then 633 squadron RAF march past.
