I'm thrilled about that! I don't think Richard is in any danger of losing his job - I think being on Strictly has very much raised his profile.
I hadn't heard of him before Stricty smile.gif , not that that means anything,, blush04.gif

I watched the while of X Factor last night, for the first time ever. There is something a bit scary about Christopher, and I could hardly make out a word of James Arthur's lyrics.
Jahmene to win! Even if I can't spell his name unsure.gif

I think that is how you spell it.

Mootle, I agree with your comments about Christopher and James. I'd like Jahmene to win. If not him, give it Union J, the boy band.

POP superstar Cheryl Cole has sensationally sued for £1.4 million over her ruthless sacking from the US version of The X Factor last year.

The Girls Aloud singer, 29, wants to be paid the earnings she missed out on after she was fired from Simon Cowell’s talent show.

She was paid £1.1 million for the first series despite only completing auditions in two cities, Los Angeles and Chicago.

But the lawsuit filed in the US against Blue Orbit Productions complains she was promised a second series too and was never paid for that.

Cole says she was also promised £62,000 for clothes each season.

Cheryl was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger, 34, before the show aired and fell out with Cowell, 53.

The Sun, 07/12/12.

What sort of idiots agreed to pay money like that?

Surely 1.1 million is enough? unsure.gif

JAMES ARTHUR and Jahmene Douglas are joint favourites to win the X Factor, according to bookies.

The pair – mentored by Nicole Scherzinger – both have odds of 5/4 while Christopher Maloney is 7/2, said Paddy Power ...

Full piece, the Sun, 07/12/12.

Christopher left last night. Cowell must have been pleased. I know I was. LOL.

I do not get what the fuss is about regarding James. Given that, Jahmene to win. He has a lovely voice, a huge talent and he seems to be a rather pleasant, very charming, young man.

I agree.
I love Jahmene's voice, but cannot abide his singing style unfortunately (too gospelly for me), but there again I can't abide James Arthur's singing style either.
I do hope James won't win through a sympathy vote.
I must make an effort and vote for Jahmene tonight.

Winner: James Arthur!

Well done to him. I am surprised. To repeat, I just don't see what all the fuss is about.

Best wishes to Jahmene. Like many X-Factor contestants in the past, I suspect that he will end up having the more successful career.

I got bored with this series about a quarter way through the live shows.

I watched bits of the Final, including Jahmene murdering Let It Be, but I think a lot of the real talent was voted off early.

I agree.

IMO Ella should have been in the final and Carolynne was far too good to go in the first live show.

Jahmene gets a record deal with Sony Music

JAHMENE is the latest X Factor star to be snapped up by Sony Music.

The runner-up’s signing follows hot on the heels of Ella Henderson and Union J’s deal with the leading label.

Jahmene thanked his fans on Twitter, writing: “This is all down to all of your support! I’m EXCITED, eek #manyblessings xx”

He’s now set to sing on a TV ad for his old employers Asda, and has recorded a version of the classic carol Silent Night to be shown in an 80-second slot this Christmas.

Jahmene has said it’s his way of thanking Asda colleagues and customers who voted for him in the show ...

Full article, the Sun, 19/12/12.

Well done to him and the others.

I notice that Ryland and Christopher have yet to get a deal.

Good luck to Jahmane. I just hope that in future he abstains from adding all those frilly gospelly grunting noises to his singing.

X FACTOR’S Rylan Clark will aim to show he’s a better cook than crooner when he joins Gordon Ramsay for Christmas.

Rylan will guest on Gordon’s Christmas Cookalong Live as the sweary chef guides viewers through the trauma of cooking a festive dinner ...

Full piece, The Sun, 24/12/12.

I may record this. Not a bad guest list.

Yes, when he's popped in his coloured contact lenses.
