Celebrity Big Brother - Galloway Slams CriticsCelebrity Big Brother evictee George Galloway said the widespread condemnation of his time on the reality show is "sanctimonious humbug".
The Respect Party MP said he was amazed by the level of interest in his 21-day stay inside the celebrity house from both the media and his fellow parliamentarians.
"They seem to have got it all out of proportion," he told the press.
"There are so many things happening in the world and they seem to have been devoting acres of newsprint to a reality TV show.
"The way they have been going at me would suggest that they think they have something to fear from me and the Respect Party - and some of the sanctimonious humbug I have seen in the press... "
He went on: "The British parliament is full of people who jet around the world on fact-finding junkets to exotic places every day of the week and they are never hauled over the coals."
Galloway said he had not been paid his parliamentary salary while he was on Big Brother - something he had been unable to tell anyone before entering the house.
The politician said he could not believe the Labour chief whip Hilary Armstrong had been "walking round my constituency with a petition" while he was away.

BB evictee Galloway faces ridicule George Galloway faced ridicule on his first day outside the Big Brother house.
The Respect MP insisted he had done "nothing undignified" during his time on the reality show - despite dressing up in a leotard and pretending to be cat.
But restoring his political credibility will be an uphill struggle.
Labour activists poked fun at Galloway by delivering cat food to his home and party office in east London.
Three girls dressed in cat masks pulled up outside his house in Cheshire Street in a car with Tom Jones hit What's New Pussycat? blaring from the stereo.
They then drove to the Respect headquarters in nearby Club Row to deliver 96 tins of Whiskas.
The stunt was organised by the Tower Hamlets branch of the Labour Party ...

Maggot gets Plaid backing in Big Brother votePlaid Cymru The Party of Wales has today backed Maggot to win this year ' s Celebrity Big Brother.
Apparently, Newport and the whole of Wales are now safe. Plaid say that by talking about Wales in the house, Maggot " the Hip Hop Vampire " - real name Andrew Majors - has done a lot to promote the country.
Plaid Cymru AM Jocelyn Davies commented: " Maggot has already reeled in a lot of support. I ' m hoping he will wriggle his way to victory. Now housemates don ' t evict people, voters do. So I ' ll be texting for Maggot to win. Maggot needs your support now.
" What Wales wants is to see Maggot win, I ' m sure. We know he has the backing of Plaid and everyone in Gwent and Wales too.
Whatever happens he has done his Mam proud.

SWEET BURNS
By Cameron RobertsonBITCHY Pete ran out of cigarettes - and was forced by Big Brother to be nice to get a new supply.
His compliments to the five other housemates earned the singer 20 smokes.
But the grouchy Scouser now plans to snub Jodie Marsh at the end-of-show party.
Burns approached Michael first, fearing the shamed TV host and the others would be "suspicious" after he was challenged to say something sincerely pleasant to each of them.
He told Barrymore, who was cooking potatoes: "You cook the best roast dinner and do the best Jimmy Savile impression."
Pete announced to Maggot he was a "a right funny f***er" before telling Chantelle she was a "ray of sunshine" - and he praised Preston for having "the best EastEnders accent I've ever heard". But the sniping singer couldn't find anything nice to say when he went up to Traci, who he had previously branded a "whore".
He later told her bluntly: "You've got the best jugs money can buy."
Pete was also rewarded with a white puff a jacket to replace his confiscated "gorilla" coat.
He got back to being nasty when he dressed up as Jodie Marsh for a Celebrity Big Brother movie - and a show insider claims Pete wants to skip the post-series party to avoid his arch-rival but fears losing his £50,000 fee if he stays away.
The source said: "He's at the end of his tether after three weeks in the house. The last thing he wants is to force pleasantries with Jodie." ...

CHANTELLE LEADS ESSEX girl Chantelle is now odds-on favourite at 1-4 to win Celebrity Big Brother. David Williams, of Ladbrokes, said: "Everyone wants her to win apart from us. The Bacardi Breezers are on ice in Essex." Preston is a 5-1 chance and widely tipped to be runner-up. Among the other housemates, Michael is 8-1 to win, Maggot 14-1, Pete 25-1 and Traci 50-1.

SAVAGED BY RICHARD AND JUDY By Donna Watson
THE motormouth who stunned US senators into silence was turned into a mumbling wreck yesterday - by Richard and Judy.
MP George Galloway chose the cuddly chat show couple for his first TV interview since leaving the Celebrity Big Brother house.
But the pair, more noted for discussing soft topics such as book and wine clubs, turned into journalistic rottweilers - forcing the usually eloquent Galloway to hum and haw his way through the 15-minute grilling.
Despite getting his excuses in early-that he was tired because he hadn't slept since leaving the BB house -Galloway was clearly stunned by their line of questioning.
Richard Madeley accused the anti-war Respect MP of acting like a bully towards the younger housemates.
As Galloway slagged off dizzy non-celeb Chantelle, Madeley said: "I'll just put you straight on what we thought.
"Watching you, I quite liked you to begin with and then I really went off because I thought you were incredibly rude and bossy and, actually, I'll use the other B word - bullying - to the kids. I thought you were using your powers of language and your powers of argument to crush them."
The couple then showed a clip from Tuesday night's blazing row in the house, where Galloway attacked Chantelle and Preston for lying as part of the "banking" task. When the clip ended, Richard asked: "Do you think you lost the plot?"
As Galloway droned on about pressure in the house, Richard interrupted constantly to cut down his excuses.
He then went on to savage the unholy alliance Galloway formed in the house with superbitch Pete Burns. Madeley said: "If you can take on the kids like Preston, why not take on a piece of what sometimes looked like pure evil, like Pete? "Because he was destroying people like Traci and the girls. So why didn't you get in there and say, 'Leave them alone?' Why didn't you?"
The pair went on to show Galloway's attack on reformed alcoholic Michael Barrymore, where he goaded him: "Pour me, pour me, pour me a drink." Richard told the politician: "This is you, I'm afraid, again George, getting really low. You mocking him for his drink addiction."
At the end of the clip, Judy Finnegan asked: "Do you regret that? Is it excruciating for you to watch it?" But an unrepentant Galloway hit back: "I believed every word I said. Barrymore is not as nice as he looks."
Galloway also said he was in no hurry to return to the House of Commons. MPs have promised a chorus of miaows - in honour of his cat imitation -when he tries to make a speech. He said: "I will be in the House when I think it's the right place to be," and denied he was nervous about facing his foes. Galloway added he was "astonished" by the coverage he had attracted. He said: "This is a celebrity reality show and yet it's getting more coverage than Lib Dems falling out of the closet."

Boys Will Be Boys (again)The Ordinary Boys are racing up the singles chart with their re-released hit Boys Will Be Boys.
Preston's presence in the Big Brother house has re-ignited the public's interest in the band, who first scored a Top 20 hit with the track last year. At the last check the ska-influenced anthem was within spitting distance of a Top Ten position. The band are also currently preparing for a new UK tour – although they'll have to check with Preston if he's prepared to leave Chantelle's side for more than five minutes when he leaves the Big Brother house at the end of the week.
And Pete Burns reckons our Prest could be in big trouble with his missus for all his flirting with Chantelle.
Yesterday he said that the Ordinary Boy's girlfriend would "rip his f****ing knob off" when he leaves the house. Clearly not one to beat about the bush, he added: "He's dead meat. Chantelle's falling in love with him."

AND THE WINNER IS.. LOVE
CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER Preston and Chantelle get together
By Nicola Methven Tv Editor LOVE emerged as the surprise winner of Celebrity Big Brother last night - as Preston and Chantelle proved they really ARE an item.
The besotted pair could barely keep their hands off each other as they turned their final hours in the house into an orgy of flirting and smooching.
As playful Preston leapt on top of Chantelle, Traci echoed the thoughts of millions of viewers by saying: "You two have the cutest thing going on.
"You have such magnetism. It's adorable. What a wonderful way to be."
Any lingering suspicions the lovebirds might go their separate ways once out of the house were dispelled as it was revealed they will appear together on Richard and Judy on Monday ...

GALLOWAY RETURNS TO HIS PUBLIC GEORGE Galloway finally visited his constituency yesterday to try to repair the damage done by his Big Brother antics.
The Respect MP faced angry voters in Bethnal Green, East London, after snubbing them for 22 days.
Defiant George, 51, ridiculed for pretending to be a cat on the show, claimed he was "loved and not hated" despite facing a barrage of abuse from constituents. He said: "The press treatment is simply not matched by public opinion. People agree with my decision to go into the Big Brother house."
When asked if he had deserted his duties as an MP, he said: "That's a matter for my constituents. I got a message across to a big number of people."
On his meeting with Saddam's evil son Uday, he said: "He's dead now, so I don't know why it's bothering everyone so much."
Galloway later held a surgery for constituents but left residents fuming after cutting it by 90 minutes to go to the BB final.

I'LL HOUND YOU TO THE END OF YOUR DAYS MICHAEL THE father of the man found dead in Michael Barrymore's pool yesterday vowed to hound the star for life. Stuart Lubbock's dad, Terry, was speaking as he staged a demo outside the Big Brother studios.
He handed out leaflets to fans arriving for the final night of the TV show.
Terry, 61, said: "I won't rest until Barrymore tells me what he knows about my son's death. I'm going to hound him for the rest of his life unless he talks.
"I've never said Barrymore was involved in the killing of my son.
"But I'm convinced he can help us find out more.
"It's been clear from his behaviour in the Big Brother house that Barrymore can't cope with the guilt of his silence.
"But he should stop feeling so sorry for himself and spare a thought for the continued suffering of my family - not knowing why or how my son died." Terry, of Harlow, Essex, has already launched a private prosecution against Barrymore.

I'LL WALK DOWN THE AISLE WITH PRESTON! (But only as a bridesmaid)
By Gemma Calvert & Rachel Richardson BIG Brother's fake celeb winner Chantelle Houghton confessed she'd love to walk down the aisle with well-fit housemate Preston — but only as a BRIDESMAID.
Millions watched and wondered as the dizzy blonde Essex girl spent three weeks on Channel 4's hit show flirting and smooching with the sexy young singer DESPITE knowing he had a girlfriend.
But after leaving the house in fourth place Preston declared he planned to wed lover Camille Aznar and wanted Chantelle there.
And in her first interview following her landslide victory Paris Hilton-lookalike Chantelle revealed: "I'm really happy for him—great, fantastic. And I'd love to be their bridesmaid." ...
And this is what Chantelle has to say about her fellow CBB4 housemates ...The ridiculed Respect MP got straight-talking Chantelle's back up right away.
She raged: "I think George looked down on me, like I was a scatty girl who was uneducated.
"He said he couldn't believe that I lived in Essex and am a vegetarian because most of them come from north London.
"What does it matter where you're from? He was definitely hypocritical—a cheating, conniving, vile little man."
Chantelle has a similar view on snappy transvestite Pete Burns, who took fifth place and faced a wall of boos when he stepped into the crowd.
"Pete's got an acid tongue," she sniped. "But however horrible he's been you just can't take him seriously. They say respect your elders. But if that's an elder, why would I respect that? I was the youngest but the most maturest in there."
Chantelle, from Wickford, Essex, aimed her next sideswipe at husky Rula Lenksa.
"Rula's a female version of George," she said. "If they were 10 years younger they'd get together—and that would be an awful thought." Sex-mad basketball ace Dennis Rodman was next in the firing line. "I didn't like him watching me," said Chantelle. "I felt I had a pair of beady eyes on me all the time and asked him to stop it. He became a snake in the grass."
But she learned to like Michael Barymore who came second. "It was well sweet when he was crowned the Master Debater. I'm so glad George didn't get it.
"And as for Jodie, I don't know if I could cope with what she went through. Maggot was a great guy, too. I'm so pleased he came third. Traci hasn't got a nasty bone in her body either. And Faria was so caring—I still remember our heart to heart in the garden before she left." ...
