im on my 3rd box now, and its a brand new thomson and all tho pic is fine, recording u get ticking, sound drops on playback, and whirring noise all time! :(

I got this recently, it's very useful! Sometimes on the menus I hear some background noise. But the only whirring noise that my box makes is the sound of the hard disc.

Maybe it's a problem with your cables to the TV.

well i hear clicking when recording, and whirring constantly, which i can hear over the pc
