The Extra Ordinary Boys

THE ORDINARY BOYSí third album is a dig at the fickle world of celebrities and those who achieve fame by any means necessary.

Ironic, really, from a band whose singer became a household name by starring in this yearís Celebrity Big Brother 4.

But How To Get Everything You Wanted In Ten Easy Steps is singer Prestonís satirical look at a world he is both fascinated with and repelled by. He says: ďIím still in that celebrity world and really enjoying it. I have a total fascination for it and the fickleness and ridiculousness of it. But Iím not complaining.

ďThe narrative of the album is potentially me ó someone who gets seduced by vanity. But Iíd say Iíve only achieved three of the ten steps. The last step is Celebrity Suicide ó celebrities who have massively overstayed their welcome.

ďI think thatís the downfall of Big Brother. People who come off the non-celebrity show have two months of fame then the rest of their life is teetering on the edge of failure, whether itís a career in pantomime or being forced to admit to deeper personal tragedy.

ďIíve never cheapened myself like that. My integrity has remained.

ďBy giving those people that taste of fame you ruin their lives.

ďI appreciate the fun Iíve had but Iím happy to go and work in a post office if I have to as I understand the fickleness of fame, take it with a pinch of salt and am just happy to be making music again.Ē

Preston is immensely proud of the latest album and believes itís the one The Ordinary Boys have always promised to make. It marks a poppier sound for the Sussex four, a sound they always intended to make in the first place ...

I wish the Ordinary Boys all the best with their new album & single. I've liked some of their stuff in the past, so I'm looking forward to listening to this.

As for Preston's claims to have never cheapened himself ... yes you have Preston but never mind. :)

I love his new single, instantly catchy and some wry humour in the lyrics. :)
